Not many, Volume, Tone and Gain controls, Standby Switch, 7 or 15 watts switch, jacks for 8,8, and 16 ohm cabs, Small light metal cased head, and padded gig bad...I guess that's 11 features?!?. It is what it is, simple to operate and to get great crunch, drive, fat violin sustain tones kinda amp.
I have had it for 2 or 3 weeks. I finally opened her up today connected to a Blues Jr, Eminence loaded cab. MY GOD! Tubes really do sound better Kranked. This is a tone monster. Get the Gain in the 2 to 3 of the clock area and wail!!! I also discovered (from the Robert Keeley site) how good (better to me than TS-9) a Boss Blues Driver BD2 pedal can be. Granted, the TT is not the best pedal pushed amp I have heard (gotta love the Silver faces for that). But man, I had 3 hours of fun getting that FAT Yanking Violin sustained spine tingle playing with the Gain, volume, BD2 and Dyna Comp Compressor, geeze lousie! Is that Malcom Young or what!!!
I see discussion on what Cab to match w/ this head. Heck, if I can cream with the Blues Junior Eminence then it can only get better. If not I have just gained tons of respect for the Fender Eminence in the BJ. I would love to get a Orange 1x12 to look pretty but for sounding mean I can jack it into any of my many SF Twins, SF or BF Deluxes, Oh Man imagine what it will sound like into the 4x10s in my BF Super Reverb?!!!? Then cranked into the 2x12s of my JCM800 Celestion loaded Combo I might go into a coma, that good and creamy dudes.
I bought the amp as a gift to me for some excuse or other. Did not need it but man best discretionary buy I have made in years. I have tons of Fender amps (BF Super Reverb, Princeton Reverb and Deluxe Reverb, SF Twins (2), Deluxe, Bandmaster Reverb (baby) and One Marshall. I also have some of the 90's just OK tweed Fender stuff). I could never get any of my many Teles on good speaking terms with any Marshall until this modded JCM800 came along and then only my blonde '52 RI. But sonething about the way Mrshall Dstort yet still sound articulate (I know, contradiction but that is what it sounds like to me) that I had to keep trying. THE TINY TERROR NAILS THIS Articulate CRUNCH GRIND Sound!!!! i spades!. If you have ever pugged a ProCO RAT into a Marshall JCM 800 just to boost you know what I am taking about.
Volume....with 1x12 (open Back) I was in CHUNK CRUNCH HEAVEN and my kids ran out of the room and hid under the pillows. I thought the Neighbors would call police for sure. Had I played for longer that 15 mintes I am sure someone would have. That Loud. I am not hauling 4x12 anymore but if you guys need air pushed the Tiny Terror will Blow Tons of PSI.

Fantastic Crunch to grind sounds at bedroom to Stage levels. Ok, I have never played a big stage but try a 4x12 and get Volume 2-3 o'clock and Gain 2-3 o'clock and i can't see anyone taking that for too long unless the prformance energy was there.
Clean - I liked it and I come from Fender Sparkle USA. No, it does not have that sparkle but the stingy, sterile, Marshallesck type clean. It works for agressive mellow rock not necessary roots rock.
I am into the Stones, AC/DC, Flipper Douch, Ronkle Bloodly runner, Skinny Flute, Smashing Pumkins, J Winter, Stripp the Weasel kind of Raunchy Rock. The Tiny Terror can go there and beyond

No user manual. Sure no one needs it but everyone wants it. I guess just to leaf trough as part of the "I GOT IT" fun of getting a new amp. There are some things it could have addressed like how many cabs to connect at once but I guess it is expected to be common knowledge.

I have played 30-35 of my 45 years. I recently got into buying gear, amps moslty and mostlly impulse type Fender 'deals'. This is only the second amp I buy new in my life. I don't think I will ever regret it. It plays great at living room and bedroom volumes as well as loud enough for rehersal and probably gigging. BTW, I don't like to play into headphones. That's one other reason I have not really engaged in the modeling fun with headphones phenonenom. I listen as much with my skin as with my ears. What is bedroom level anyway? I can play in the living room with it kinda/pretty low plugged in and have fun. If I have to play in the bedroom with someone asleep then I just go electric guitar unplugged. So it does the soft thing good for me.
The only other prodcut out there like this, and you hve to admit the allure here is the compact size that this is in, is the CRATE Power block. I don;t like Crate for Guitar and the PB is not a tube amp so no comparison although that unit is really a great band utility tool that I would own if I were gigging still.
For the price, looks, and exotic appeal that you get along with a Fantastic sounding amp this purchase is a no brainer. You should see it on the BJ tweed combo, it looks ironically mini retro with BALLS!

Please do not be deceived. There aren't many features but I've found this a GOOD thing in a gigging situation.I hate toe tapping and tweeking when I'm trying to play live!
The good news is that there's a standby switch and a built in attenuator(I think I've got that correct) that switches the output of the amp.Doesn't really affect the volume so much as the tone. This is useful if you are playing a lot of different styles.
You can plug in a couple of cabs if you want to.
BEST FEATURE-it is really light, practical and looks cool.

No question-this sounds every bit as good as my collection of Cornford amps. It's the low power thing that does it.I only do smallish gigs and frankly anything over the 15Ws this throws out is surplous to requirements. The fact that I can push the power stage means I'm able to play through a backline without crucifying the band and audience at these low volumes.I mainly play through the 8W setting.I only use the 15W if I require clean headroom.Saying that I've really experimented with this business of setting everything to 11 and controlling it all through the guitar volume pot. This ,in my opinion, is the way to get the best out of this amp.
You will find that a certain amount of ridicule greets you from bandmembers and contempories when you turn up at the gig/practice with this diminuative amp. However the laugh is on them!!I have a pro guitar mate(Who really can play)who just couldn't believe the sound that this amp can produce.
All I can say is GET ONE

Doesn't come with instructions. This annoys me as you have to careful what speakers etc you can plug in without damaging it.I own some weird old stuff and I worry that it might be unsafe to use it with this amp

Despite my bitching-for the price this is as good as anything I've played.Take price out of the equation-this is now my gigging amp.
I reckon the boutique boys need to worry about this amp.I have an extensive circle of musician colleagues. All prefer the Orange to my normal Cornford gear.

New amp.
One channel, three knobs, tons of sounds. Hi/lo power switch, 4/8/16 ohm taps. All the features it needs, but without some stuff like fx loop, line out, reverb.

I can get clean to crunch to singing distortion. With that said, the speaker makes a big difference. Now I'm using an Eminence Cannabis Rex in an open back, and it is luscious on all settings. Earlier this week, I was using a Weber 1230 (G12H clone); not so good cleans with the Weber. That speaker I love in a closed-back cab with distortion, but the Rex rules for all around good sound.
This is the fourth EL84 amp I have had, along with Hiwatt Lead 20 (built in 1980s), Dr. Z Mazerati (original circuit), and Hughes and Kettner Edition Tube. All of these amps have a great sound, all different, and the Tiny Terror has its own niche and can keep up with the others.
Using it with teles and a Godin Radiator and an Ibanez ES-clone with Bill Lawrence L490 pickups. This amp sounds different, but excellent, with each different guitar.
It gets noisy with the gain up.

Been playing 15 years. Own plenty of guitars and a few small tube amps.
Stolen or lost? Would get another one. Thinking about running it in stereo with the Hughes and Kettner.
Love its sound and versatility with such simple controls.

3 Nobs (volume, tone, gain) and a switch for 15/7 watt settings. It's kind of like having a boss overdrive pedal as an amp.

Great sound but only if you like overdrive. I play in a 70's style rock band and it's perfect. Have used it with my telecaster and my big old epiphone and it rocks. You can get that nice overdriven marshall sound without heaps of fizzy gain and at a decent volume. Because it's so low powered, you can drive it to your hearts content and not p**s-off the rest of your band.

If it were stolen I'd cry. My other amp is a Marshall JCM800 50w combo which I also adore but this little baby is the one that now gets used for gigs. Put it through a 2x12, get a boost/micro-amp pedal for solos and you are in rock heaven.

Very simple set up-volume,tone,gain with a 15 watt/7 watt switch and on/off/standby switch.Class A valve power using 2EL84 valves.
Very simple set up for maximum quality of sound.
Great at home clean or as dirty as you like. Also have found it to be powerful enough for band rehearsal-sounds great- but not sure about gigging at present.
For recording it should be a dream.
This one was Made in Korea-they now make them in China-I dont know if that affects the quality.

This amp sounds great through my Cornell cabinet and through 4x12 cab.
I use a couple of ovedrives with aslightly broken up amp sound for ease of use but this amp really is superb for my style.
I might try gigging with it-that would be good if it is powerful enough.
Overall a great sound.

Features stated in previous posts. Class A-15/7 watt power output. Tone, volume and gain controls, 1 channel. Very limited in features, but this amp is designed to allow the player to get that jucy power amp gain sound at lower volumes. You can dial in a clean sound and some in between sounds, but the amp is short on features...long in great tone. I bought it to use at home. I will be using ( within the next 2 months ) an Egnater Mod 50 for my gigging rig.

First, I must say I have played and owned most of the great amps and guitars. I've owned Soldano, Bogner, Fender, Marshall, Mesa, and Hiwatt. I have tested Matchless, Diezel, Bad Cat, Fuchs, Two Rock, Dumble, and many others. I am a big fan of the Orange sound and build quality. I recently had a fire sale of my best gear, and am starting over. I bought this amp to play at home, and am saving for my dream Egnater Mod 50. I play this amp through a custom made semi-open back Stone Age 2 x 12 cab with Celestion Heritage 65's, which I had designed specifically for the Mod 50.
This little amp sounds fantastic through the Stone age cab, as well as with the Orange 2 x 12 w/ Celestion V-30's. Tube overdrive that is warm and jucy...perfect for classic rock tones. Much louder than I expected. I may even use it to record. As far as what it does, it does it perfect! Great crunch and sustain, fantastic tone.

For what this is and what it was designed for...this amp deserves high marks here and in every category. It's an extremely simple design...a single channel amp with three simple controls: Volume, Tone and Gain. There is also a 7/15 watt power selector. What more do you need when an amp is voiced very nicely and sounds great with the tone set at noon on any gain setting? The tone knob only serves to fine tune the mix of highs and lows to the TT's great tone that will fluctuate slightly with various guitars and pickups used. It does this without coloring the original tone of your guitar plugged straight into the amp. In othe words, you start with a really great sound and use the tone knob to even out the high frequency differences between guitars used. 2x 8ohm and 1x 16ohm speaker outs at the back...no effects loop or reverb on this little monster and it really doesn't need either one. It would change the tone...guaranteed. Many sounds are available simply by manipulating your guitar's volume and tone knobs...and that's what this amp was designed to do and it accomplishes this beautifully. Period. It's portable size is a great feature...I've already flown across the country and blown people away with its tone 3000 miles away! I brought it on the plane as carry-on and tucked it away in the overhead compartment. After the initial laughs at it's small size and looks...jaws were being picked up off the floor. The best portable tone on the market.

This amp is a true tone gem. It is one of my favorite amps out of all the amps I've ever owned or played over the years. I currently own a Soldano Decatone, a Koch Multitone, a Mesa Boogie Mark III (blue stripe) combo and a custom OD3-100 Rozon head (Rozon is the guy who makes / designs the Radial Tonebone stuff...this is one of his hand-made and very rare amps and it is an absolute tone MONSTER!)
The only thing that categorizes the Tiny Terror a differently from the amps I just mentioned is wattage, add-ons (ie: reverb / loops), and multi-channel capability. As far as tone...it keeps up with every one of those amps I mentioned. It has its own voice...but the tone is as warm, organic and hi-fi as any one of those high-dollar beasties. A bold statement....but true none the less.
This thing sounds just amazing with my PRS. I have the tone at about 1:00, the gain at about 2:00 and the volume full out going into my Ultimate Attenuator from which overall volume level is controlled. (An truely amazing device the Ultimate Attenuator is BTW. Evey guitarist should own one IMO.) It can go from a brown-sounding AC/DC and british crunch to some great bluesy breakup tones with just the turn of my guitars volume knob. Lush subtle breakup to big ballsy crunch...all at your fingertips via your guitar's volume knob...and all the tones as you turn that knob will blow you away. The PRS really shined here because the high end doesn't roll off like on most guitars as you turn your volume down.
The response to pick attack is truely amazing for such a little amp with such small transformers. The 7/15 wattage selector also produces a different tone on each setting...besides the obvious volume impact. At 7 watts the amp seems darker and smoother and at 15 is a bit more agressive and brighter sounding.
Clarity is great...chords ring out with all the strings finding their voice. Very nice balance of tone.
The amp came stock with 2 JJ ECC83s in the preamp positions and 2 JJ EL84's for power. I replaced the two ECC83's with JJ ECC803s. Much bigger tone with better, meatier mids and way better bass response. Highs are also more pronounced and better balanced. I prefer the tone of long plate preamp tubes...all my amps have them in V1 at the very least. They produce a bigger soundstage and warmer overdrive, IMO.
I'm thinking of possibly changing the power tubes but the JJ's are great...I'm in no rush to change them. El84 amps are a self-biasing design, so biasing this amp when changing tubes will never be an issue.

I've been playing 26 years and have a ton of great gear and have always owned great gear. I'm picky and my tastes always end up being expensive. This is the best amplifier buy I have ever made. Every dollar and every cent is worth it. It stands tall for its size. I chose this for portability and got way more tone than I expected. I use it a lot. If it were stolen I would curse the dink that stole it and replace it immediately. I wouldn't add a thing to it....I like it just the way it is....a true tiny terror! I'm not at all surpised that the price went up since I bought it.

A very simple head, volume, tone and gain, switchable between 7 and 15 watts, compact, class A. It's a boutique style head and it has it's not supposed to be anything else. Mine was made in Korea, though I think they're switching to China.
Sound Quality
:

Amazing! Make sure you try out a variety of cabinets with this head because if you don't like one it's probably the speakers not the head. I tried about 5 different cabs before I was satisfied. It has a nice clean, but it's meant for some break up. My 12 string Danelectro sounds gorgeous and alive and my tele has fast attack and mellow warmth. I play mostly britpop, post punk and experimental, so it's versitile in the sense that it fits into my styles, however, the Tiny Terror does have its own sound that can only be changed so much, but it fits most styles such as blues, classic rock, psychedelia, prog rock, new wave, punk, alternative and so forth. I wouldn't reccomend this head for metal (unless it was old school metal like Black Sabbath) because it's not a heavy or harsh gain, but rather a natural smooth overdrive. Jazz musicians may want to look at Roland JC-120s for their clean sound because the Tiny Terror is not meant for sparkling cleans and the tone is quite coloured, which is something I personally like but jazz players may not.

I haven't gigged with it yet, but it feels very solid and the generously padded carrying bag it comes with makes it seem all the more sturdy. It has a year warranty and it's a simple head, so only so much can go wrong with it.

The manufacturer warranty is a year and Orange amps aren't very prevalent where I live so I'm a bit nervous of anything happening to my TT, but there are many technicians around which makes me feel safer.

I've been playing for 7 and a half years and I own mostly single coil guitars, though I've heard humbuckers and they howl through the Tiny Terror. I love the compact size, the reasonable price (though Orange did jack up the price by $75, blah) and the sound is incredible, you can dial up any old combination and it'll be at a consistant sweet spot. I've matched my TT with a Vox 2x12 cab with the cheap Wharfdale speakers and it has a brilliant chime and sweet overdrive. I know it's meant for recording and small gigs, but I wish it were perhaps 20 or 25 watts, just to have a little more headroom, though that could just be my own nervousness, so I won't dock it any points. I've been wanting an Orange amp for 4 years and finally this budget priced gem came out. Surely if anyone tried to steal it I'd beat them with a guitar.
