Low feature 2 EL84 amp, I've had it for about a year and a half. 15 watts single channel. half power switch. No loop, verb or effects.

I use it with a tele and a Les paul. Very nice with the tele, but only so so with the Les Paul.
Good little rock and blues amp, but limited in a couple of ways. Really midrangey, and there is no tone knob to tune it out. Its a bit grainy sounding, but I don't mind that much.
Low end is pretty sad, even for a 2 EL 84 amp. Reasonably tight, but just lacking.
Volume is good for small gigs but lacks headroom, I'm willing to accept this in a 15 watter. Lacks punch.
Pretty high gain. The gain is more than I can use (feeds back) after about 2/3 of the way up on the pre amp. I've had good success with lower gain tubes.

Overall a good amp given the price. The tone isn't quite what I expected, but the portability an dweight is a big plus, and I find myself using it often for this reason alone.
I'm considering trying the MM tranny upgrade, I think this may address the thin low end and lack of punch.

Mine are 2008 manufactured and handle all styles particularly rock n blues. I have three of these wonders in different locations around the globe to save me the hassle of transporting them. I I had my way I would probably like an effects send and return but at this price point I really cant complain. This amp is simplicity and its beauty is just that. Each of the of pots: Volume, Tone and Gain, are more than adequate with any additional sound shaping added by the usual plethora of outboard effects one has in ones arsenal.

I use a Fender Strat, Tele along several super strats. A Gibson Les Paul Supreme etc
For home use the 7 watt setting is superb and getting it to burn is simple. To be fair, the higher 15 watt setting doesn't appear to add a great deal of volume but can be used to great use live by flicking the switch from 7 to 15 on the fly for added volume and kicking lead break sound. To be honest I would rate this amp well above It's rated volumes anyhow.
Take this amp to Chandler Guitars in Kew and have it re-valved and re-biased...you wont regret it!!!

I have been playing for over thirty years and have amassed quite a selection of gear in that time. Rarely does an instrument or amp impress me these days however, the Tiny Terror is one of those products that has found its niche quite simply by being the best in its class..if Orange were to stop building this amp it would become a collectors amp.
If you buy one...DO team it up with the 1 x 12 cab...It looks great in the lounge!!
Happy playing.

Strat,64 SGJr, Firebird, Trini Lopez 68,Flying Vee Gibbo. Boss tuner, Keeley Java Boost, Fulltone Mini D.Vibe (Hope to change to Mojo Vibe sometime). This amp is for the old timer rockers who are after pure tone!! It is very British, you can nail the first album Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Led Zep!!!! Just dial in the Vol and Gain for the amount of distortion, then back off on guitar volume for cleans.Absolutely AMAZING!! It blew away my old Roland Jazz Chorus 120 in volume and tone dept!!And with the acco??panied Orange 1x12 cab.If you want pure tube tone at manageable levels, get one, it is amazing.Loud enough for club gigs, even if you do not mike it up..You just need to know how to work it..

I have a custom made lopo cab with a vintage traynor 30 and it sounds every bit as big as the big boys. getting from gig to gig went from a pain to a non-issue overnight. recording wise, i use this, and a Gibson les paul 5 watt tuber. they usually split the duties. the gibby is slightly warmer. overall, if you don't have a tube amp, get one. and if you do, get this one. save yourself alot of time.

Made in Korea, single channel, 3 knobs, etc. It has the three most important things you want in amp, tone, tone and tone. A lot of variety of tones in just three knobs. 15w/7w switch too. No reverb, no effects loop, no headphone jack, simplicity at its finest.

Great cleans, great mild OD, great heavy OD. Responds very well to dynamics and volume control. If you are into the classic British crunch and sounds of Hendrix, Allman Bothers, Cream, Zeppelin, Sabbath, early Judas Priest, this is the low wattage amp for you. I put a wah and a boost in front, and it gets all the sounds I need.
The sound is the all classic rock 'n roll.

Incredible. If you are on the fence, get it. I would suggest trying to get a Korean made version if you can. If you don't like it, resale value is very good on eBay. But you will definitely like it. It is not meant for Nu Metal, detuned stuff, though with the right boost or OD in front, it could get you there.
Combine this with a good cab, and you got a great rig. Be wary of the chinese made PPC112, you are better off getting an Avatar cab.

Amp was made in 2007
It has 'the' sound I was after. I'd hate to say it's fairly designed for sound but with 3 nobs you can get a good variation. I'm a metal, psychedelic and jazz guy and more than happy with it. Especially with a couple pedals at hand. I've a strat I string with 13's and a humbucker and I can totally nail the Palm Springs sound on this tuning down to C. Super rad heavy big thick. But it can get it all.
Single Channel. Plug in, turn on, and GO.
I wish it,... um.... it's perfect as is, in the package it is. I mean it's a focused amp. I never use the 15 watt setting in my apartment. I use it in parks to scare wildlife, children and the elderly (j/k). It's pretty loud.
It's prefect for everything but big venues.
4 Tubes, can have the wattage cut in half. I mean for what it is meant to do it's 10/10. Don't hit a sponge with a hammer, it's not the right tool.
Sound Quality
:10
I have a handful of guitars, a frankenstein strat for Kyuss stuff, a PRS for 'everything' a 79 strat for Ghost Reveries tunings.
I totally suits my style. With the box of pedals there isn't a tone I can't get, that I want. I have a metal pedal for the extra uglyness. For jazz it will slay anything else except it'll be hard to do really clean loud. But who cares about that. Stop being a pretentious jerk and just play right. There is nothing flat about it's tone.
It's not noisy but if you put it all the way up it's got a bit of fry I guess? Hard to say.
It would not get clean loud. I heard a guy hot rodded his to get a bit more loud clean but meh. Suits me fine.
The distortion is Kyuss right, and not for metal extremists. However the bottom is so big, if you take a metal pedal, roll back the tone on the amp you can get a really big nasty ugly metal tone.

I have never e-mailed the company. I got it at L&M and they aren't so hot on customer service so,... take you chances.

I've been playing it for 8 or 9 months and love it. I own a Mark IIC+ which is more punchy and louder and has,... better tone quality but not the round bottom this has. plus this has no reverb but I've a slap back pedal.
I love that it's the big round huge low end cusp of bass and bottom I've been after and not a flat sound. it's so nice and rich and round and lush I love it.
Asking for something to be different would make it loose it's character. It's perfect for what it is/does. anything else would change what it is and I can do more with a pedal or two and finding the right tone.
I blows any fender out of the water. If i didn't own a Mesa already I'd never pick and orange over a mesa for just,.. options 'overall'. but this orange does what I was after perfectly. I chose it cause it rawks and I read good reviews and played it. w/ a 15" closed back it's low end will cause people to run in fear.
If you want the Palm Springs tone look no further. Plus since it's a head/cab setup I can run it into something silly like a stack of marshal cabs.

It`s amazing what you can get from this amp. It takes time, knowlegde and good ear to get it reveal full potential. And lots of trial and error. Everything counts in signal path. Sorry, no points here, each of us wants to have his own tone right?

Using Gibson Les Paul Classic with Antiquity pickups and stock G&L Legacy. There is a wide variety of tones to be had by adjusting the volume and gain knobs, not to mention the wattage switch. 7 watts is a little darker and crunchier, 15 watts more chimey. This amp is great for everything from bedroom jamming to small club gigs. At low volumes it will go from a pretty lively and dynamic clean to metal tones, with middle-of-the-road, AC/DC tones being this amp's sweet spot. Does this better than any amp or pedal I've played before. Nice harmonics and clipping at this setting. At louder volumes (volume and gain cranked), this amp has wonderful response to guitar volume knob, cleaning up well, and is a great blues and rocknroll amp.
Downsides: The distortion sounds kind of fizzy at lower volumes. The tone knob leaves you with pretty much one flavor or color of tone, making this amp very dependent on speaker selection to get what you want out of it. I ended up using a closed-back 1x12 with a Celestion V30 that tamed the high end sizzle or fizziness, tightened up the bass some, and brought out the best of this amps character.
I ended up selling this amp after acquiring a Budda SD 18 II. Compared to the Budda, using a variety of speakers with both amps, the Tiny Terror had less going on in the clean channel, not as lively, not as much sustain, not as pretty. The drive channel was fizzy compared to the Budda's smooth and crunchy bite. After hours of playing, it seemed that the TT had less presence than the Budda, but at other times seemed like it cut through better, so I'll call them even there. Two things the Tiny Terror did better: AC/DC barely broken-up tones and it was dead silent on all settings, where the Budda has some underlying hum.

For the money, hard to beat if you're looking for the early AC/DC tone. I miss it. It has some mojo about it for sure. A vox ac15cc might be a better buy for the money, but the reliability of those amps are so questionable that I'm afraid to take one home. The TT retired my Peavey Classic 30, a good amp. The TT is more lively and has more harmonics.
A cute package with it's own gig bag, doing what it does better than any other amp I've played, definitely one to have if you can afford to have more than one, and may be that one if you don't have to run delay or other effects post distortion, and don't require a variety of tone. Grab one and paint your world Orange for a while. You won't regret it.

This is 2008 China made Tiny Terror Class A tube amp. The features are very simple and basic (which is GOOD). One input channel. Three EQ knobs = volume/tone/gain. A three way output switch 15w/stand by/7 watt. A power switch. Three speaker outputs = one 16 oms / two 8 oms. 2 EL84 power tubes - 2 12Ax7/ecc83 preamp tubes. One power cord and a gig bag with an extra pocket to keep speaker cables and power cord ( I love this bag!) This amp is light weight enough to carry anywhere!
I do miss having a bass/mid/treble EQ - that would make it more versatile and I never use the 7watt output.
Sound Quality

I have had this amp for almost a year. The tone from this small beast is amazing. The 2 EL 84s get a bright crunch or warm thick fuzz. When you spend a enough time with it you can really get a great sound. For my band's style this amp is great - a experimental noise rock outfit - think skullflower/stooges/sabbath meets Sun Ra. I have two guitars, a 1983 USA fender telecaster and an older model Epiphone Les Paul standard. Both sound great through this amp - but very differnt. (My effects are: MXR Dyna comp/Vox v847 Wah/EH LPB-1/EH Big Muff/ EH Small Clone/ Digitech PDS 1002 2 sec digital delay.)
The Tele gets a great rock sound like the MC5 or classic British rock like Yardbirds, etc. - the single coils are more noisy with this amp than other amps I played it through. That's due to all the gain it produces. The TT has big time distortion - no need for a pedal if your the purist type. The Epiphone Les Paul gets a great thick sound, lots of sustain and wonderful feedback. If you like Doom/Sludge metal or old school hard rock you'll love this amp. A Gibson would sound awesome through it!
The T.T. is really not that noisy, even when Gain is all the way up - but there is noise especially when using pedals. You don't get spanking clean tones with this amp - there is alway some bite to it - so jazz is out! This is a rock amp.
This amp is loud and would work in most gig situations. If you mike it it will be fine. I use a CARVIN V410T Bass cab with the T.T. and its really loud. I DO NOT recommend the Orange 1x12 Cab that everyone says you should pair it with. I didn't feel the sound was that great and the price was to high. Try out other cabs to find the sound and price thats right for you. But if you want, melt your face, ear bleeding loud buy a 100 watt amp and a full stack or two - oh, and have at least $4000.00 to buy this wet dream rock star rig - that you'll never get to play - because you don't play stadiums - because if your reading this your NOT a rock star.
If you are a working musician, playing bars and clubs buy this amp, save 3 grand (and the back ache), and you'll be happy.

This amp is built well. Very solid. I don't use a back up because I don't have one - but I am not that worried.

This is a long story but if your curious about Orange customer service read on. I bought a new Koren made T.T. last summer. In just three months it had some problems. It was cutting out at high volume and gain. I used the Orange forum first but eventually contacted Orange,USA. Their tech had me try some tests at home first, with no luck. I sent it back to them using my warranty. YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE FOR THIS! He said he could not find anything wrong with it after having it for a week. He re-soldered the wiring and went through it twice - tested it and felt it was fine - he felt there was a problem else where in my rig. I had it back for one week and it died - no signal at all. So, Orange let me use my own Amp tech locally. This tech said it was a bad power tube which blew the fuse. He replaced them both and Orange paid the labor - but did not pay for the tubes - they sent two new Orange stock EL84's. OK, another three weeks go by then the amps dies again! I was about to loose it and thought that the Tiny Terror was JUNK! I called Orange and the tech was very understanding and with out a hesitation said they would replace the amp with a brand new one! I sent it back and in two weeks received a straight out of the box brand new Tiny Terror AND it sounds even better than my old one. I have had no problems since and its been four months.

I have been playing for 27 years. I have been through more guitars than amps. But this amp is as good or better than most of what I have played through. If it were stolen and I had only $500.00 I would buy it again.
I love it's tone and everyone that hears it falls in love with it. More than one of my guitarist friends mentioned they want one after hearing it. It is a big plus that its light and easy to take to gigs and practice. I wouldn't mind more wattage and a full EQ. I am going to get an other tube amp (an Orange AD30 head or an old Sound City L120) but I would still use the Tiny Terror for practice and as a back up - for now I am very happy with my sound.

Versatile for my styles:
The amp is as versatile as what i play through it. Not much more. I would say, for an amp with one switch and 3 nobs, it is very versatile
Channels and Features:
This amp is very basic. It switches between 7 and 15 watts. It has no effects loop. And only volume, gain and tone control.
Sound Quality
:9
Guitar and Pickups:
I use a Gibson Les Paul with 490R and 498L humbuckers
Matching my style:
I play a large variation of styles, It doesn't work for everything, but its got some pure, organic tube tone.
Noise:
This is as quiet as the tubes you have in it and the pickups and wiring in your guitar.
Variety of Tones:
Like I said, this amp is as versatile as the pedals you put in front of it and your guitar.
Clean:
The clean tones are great, It lacks a bit of clarity, but it is warm and organic. You have to turn the gain up to slight overdrive, if your playing with a really loud drummer. I wish there was an effects loop so i could put some reverb delay in there without getting muddy tones.
Overive:
This amp overdrives beautifully with Overdrive pedals, i would crank the gain up for overdrive if there was an effects loop to put my reverb and delay in. The basic overdrive sounds great. I wish i could eq it though.
Reliability
:6
Dependability:
I would probably not use this for most gigs, except for small coffee houses and such due to the wattage. I would like to have a backup.
Broken Before:
I got a used one at a music store and the fuze blew as soon as i cranked it to high volume. Fortunatly, I took it back and they sent me out with a new one! I am not fully dependant on this amp, but i love it.

How long I've been playing:
I have been playing 5 years, and was classically trained on piano for 9. I have a backround of music.
Gear I own:
I have a Gibson Les Paul and a Mesa 1x12 cab, Mashall 2x12 cab, Marshall 1987xl Plexi and a handful of pedals. I've owned over 15 amps, so I've had lots of experiance.
Lost or Stolen Replacement:
I would get another one if it was lost or stolen if I had money and there was nothing a really wanted in my budget
Likes/Dislikes:
I love the classic tube tones you can get out of it. I don't like that it is very limited in features, I would be completely happy if it had an effects loop, so i could put reverb, delay and an eq.
Comparison to other products:
I have played a number of low wattage amps and the only one i thought was worthy of compairing was the THD, which is a lot more money than i paid for this thing.
Wish it had:
An Eq and effects loop.
Overall:
Overall i think this a great studio amp for its raw organic tube tones. It is great for little coffee shops to, but this pup needs some more power for nice loud drummers.

As Outlined below- three knobs and the truth! Switchable 15/7w output. More speaker outputs than I need, a great carry-bag thrown in... What's not to like? VAST amount of tones avaliable from this lovely wee box. I could bicker about a lack of this or that, but it would be a bit like moaning that "I can't off-road in this sports car". For many years I played a Marshall 2203 with the volume set below 1. Then I went through several 'bedroom' amps trying to get a decent tone (to no avail). I traded a Peavey Wiggy for the TT, which was a great amp, but I still relied on FX for drive. The TT is so perfect I want to paint it. I play a Les Paul, stick the volume on 2, the drive on 9 and I'm in heaven. I'm fairly sure it's psychic- it seems to know which notes to sustain forever and which ones to feedback. Have started trying pedals with it. Big Muff: keep the gain low and the volume high and you'll be smiling! After an MXR boost next...! Playing through an Orange 1x12. God I love this thing!

Not gigged it yet, but it appears pretty bombproof. Struggling to tell the difference between Orange UK/Orange China to be honest. This is not a 'cheap' Orange. This is an amp that is as good as any boutique amp I've played -probably better, given it costs ten times less and sounds this good! Not swopped any valves (tubes) yet, but am looking forward to playing about with them! A friend of mine just finished his last UK tour, using only a TT, with no problems. Before this he was using an M.B. Triple Rectifier for 6 years. 'Nuff said...

Only dealings I've had involved a stupid Ohms question via email. I had an answer within the hour. Can't fault that!
Minor niggle - Amp doesn't come with any kind of manual. Most folks won't need one for so simple an amp (which is probably the logic behind the decision), But I hate to think of someone buying their first valve amp on a Saturday afternoon, setting up and turning on without plugging a speaker in.... and blowing the fuse (We've all done it!). ...Be a crap Sunday, wouldn't it? Come on Orange- a wee book please!

I'm that bloke who was in several bands 15 years ago, who is now 34 and in the 'too young to be in a blues band/too old to be in a punk band' wasteland. I content myself by playing huge chords through a FANTASTIC amp at home. Trust me, this amp will put a HUGE smile on your face. Only downside to owning the TT is that you'll spend the first 3 months playing nothing but AC/DC. If you think you can handle that- fill your boots!

My TT is a China model, probably from 2007. It's very simple (15/7W, volume, treblecut, gain), which is just what I was looking for: just me my guitar and a great sounding amp, no configuration and dialing in hundreds of settings. One major plus point is the portability, I can carry it between home and my band room, and play it in both places. The controls are responsive.

I use an Epiphone Les Paul standard, and to my ears the combination with the TT sounds great (but then my previous amp was a roland cube15). I play alternative rock (whatever that means) and some simple, clean stuff (kaki king style), and I'm loving the sounds I get out of the TT. Clean with a bit of grit and overdriven sound great, the way distorted sounds with the gain and volume all the way up I find to "fuzzy". The TT really brings out the nuances of my guitar, the sound is very different depending on which pick-ups i'm using (compared to the roland cube15).

The construction is absolutely unbelievable, I am simply amazed! I was running to catch a train with my band with the TT in the carry-bag over my shoulder when the strap ripped on the bag (ok, so the bag isn't that great; the amp is still pretty heavy, despite its size). The amp fell from waist height in full stride and rolled for a couple of meters. I thought it was gone for sure, the transformers now lean like the tower of pisa and there's a couple scratches on the covering and the handle... but it still plays just fine!

All in all I love it, and I think I would have bought it again if it would have broken on the fall.

not much to say here! volume tone and gain. you prity much just turn it on and good sounds come out, the only thing i would add would be an fx loop so a reverb or delay pedal could be used to give it a bit of dimension

i use a strat with a hot rails in the bridge through the terror into a marshall quad box and i dont quite understand how a little white box can achieve the tones and volume that it does! mind boggling. i play in a cover band doing mainly rock and a bit of country, sometimes a little bit of original stuff too. most days i like to think i can shred cos thats what im into and for those of you wondering YES this amp does sound great for that! really good for brett garsed fusion sort of music. theres enough gain on tap for early metallica type stufftoo but you cant scoop the mid range out so it wouldnt quite suit the modern stuff. the clean sounds great for country or jazz and as you turn up the gain the tt shows that it could lend it self to just about any style. it has a beautifull mid range response and wonderfull harmonics, it just feels like the amp is working with you all the time and reacts to your playing the way you want it to

Mine is a Korean model. It's got a great amount of tones, from a nice clean, to a crunchy blues tone, or punk distortion all the way up to almost metal distortion.
One Channel. Which is all I need. I play punk, industrial, and doom metal and this works great for the simplistic riffing I do. It's got a lot of distortion, and is loud as hell. Wouldn't be enough for a shredding metal guy, though.
I love that it's simple. I don't spend all day dialing in tones, I spend more time playing, because the thing sounds so good, it doesn't need a lot of knob twiddling.
I use this amp live and in the studio. I have a solid state 100 watt Marshall with 4X12 that I used to use and I got sick of caring it around to small gigs.
This guy sounds great on my 4X12 Marshall cab with Vintage C30s, but even better in the Orange 1X12 cab I bought with it. The only problem is when playing loud gigs the cab is very directional. Not the wall of sound I get from my 4X12. The smaller cab is worth it though, for better tone, and this thing gets loud. When playing with a metal drummer I usually only turn up half way on 15 watts, with full gain.
This amp is versatile, because it works anywhere, and is great to have in the studio for a nice boutique sounding amp with lots of distortion. It's value is in the size and fantastic sound quality.

I play a custom Sparrow Guitar with a SH-6 Seymour Duncan Pick-up. The pick-up is about as hot as they get with-out going active, so I get some extra distortion there. I also use a ESP EC-1000 Vintage with Seymour Duncan JBs, which is a bit rounder.
This amp is perfect for the way I play. I am a rhythm guitar player that plays fast and raunchy. To be honest, the distortion is so good I can really dig in with the band, but it also covers up my inconsistencies as a player. A amp is only as good as the guy playing it, but this really suits my style.
The distortion is quite simply the best I've heard, for what I play. Super thick, and very British sounding. I would suggest this amp for anyone that plays blues, or rock of any type.
The clean tone is great, too. Though I almost never use it. It's got more of a bluesy clean to to it. Not quite as thick as a mesa, and not jangly like a fender.
I also play in strange tunings, D, Eb, C, A#, and B. The amp and cab handle the extra low end very well.

I have been playing for about 3 years, but am a professional engineer, not guitar player. This amp is great for what I do.
Since I work as a recording engineer I've heard a lot of tube amps, but this is the first one I have owned. When I bought it I played through a Traynor, Mesa, Soldano, and this is just worked for me.
This amp has dual purpose for me. It's personally what I like for my style, but is great to have around for something unique, or if I'm working on demo recordings and the band needs a good all around tube amp sound.
If you are looking to get this is your first tube amp, it's a great option if you don't need to switch channels often. I highly suggest you get a good cab, if not the Orange 1X12. The speaker and wood quality really make a difference. Listen for yourself when you're at the store!
Compared to the other small tube amps out there from traynor, line 6, and epiphone, this just blows it away. It doesn't sound cheap in any way. It really does sound like a $3,000 amp.
I will admit that the Mesa Express and Soldano Astro are great little amps, this one beats them for thick distortion and price!
The amp is really loud. It sounds ok at low levels, but sounds much better loud (like all tube amps) and you really shouldn't be buying it for a practice amp if you live in an apartment.
If you're buying this for you, or for your studio you can't go wrong!

I bought my Tiny Terror in March of 2008. It is a Chinese model.
It is a bare bones amp with gain, volume and tone. 15 watts of class A power that can be dropped down to 7 watts with a flick of a switch. It has 2 12ax7's and 2 EL84's. Looks like and is the size of a lunch box.
I play Blues, Rock and Country and this amp is perfect for all. The TT gets a great distinct growl with my Tele for country reminds me of Brad Paisley's tone. Switch to my Strat and it's a blues monster.
Crank the gain and it's similar to a 74' 18 watt Marshall. Not a lot of features but is versatile non the less as long as you are a versatile guitar player.
It has all the power I need as I mike my amplifier.
To be versatile with this amp, change your pick attack or guitar volume. If you are a dynamic guitar player...you will relish your moments playing this amp.

Sound quality is awesome! I use EMG SA's on my Strat and Seymour Duncan Antiquity on my Tele.
It has a wide variety of tones. With the gain about 9 o'clock bring the volume up to 3 o'clock or so suit your clean needs. I find that from 2 to 3 o'clock mine has a sweet spot.
Lower the volume and crank the gain then bring the volume back up and it's a monster of distortion.
I'm playing this head through the Orange PPC112 which has a Celestion Vintage 30 at 16 ohms. I've tried it through my Line 6 2x12 extension cab which has 2 75 watt Celestions and it doesn't get the tone. IMHO get the PPC112 for this amp.

I've had a little bit of crackle occaisionally that I think is coming from ungrounded pots. I spoke with a guy that has worked on these and he say that during manufacturing they painted the chasis where the pots go. Ideally the pots would be touching bare metal to be properly grounded. I haven't messed with it yet, but I'm thinking I might scrape off the paint under the pots.
I haven't gigged with this yet. But I think it would do the trick. I always carry a Line 6 Pod just in case and put it directly through the PA if I have too (I don't use the Pod through the TT...that defeats the reason for having the TT)

This is the Korean model, with an on/off switch and the standby in the middle position between the 7 and 15 watt options. It's a great amp for blues and most rock'n'roll. I wish it had a 4 Ohm speaker out so I could use it with my 4x10 Celestion cabinet.

When I first got it, with the stock "Orange" tubes, it was lacking in high end. I discovered the power tubes had burn marks on them and replaced them with JJ/Teslas. I switched out the Orange 12AX7s for EICO-branded Mullards. The Mullards unmasked the chime of the EL84s. Now the Tiny Terror has tones that are the equal of my vintage Hiwatt. The TT has enough volume to keep up with my 3 piece band, whether through the PPC-112 cabinet or through my Tone-Master 2x12.

The amp is a 2006/7 model. It is a slightly different one, because the standby is between the 15/7 watt option, not between the on/off switch. ONe channel, no effects loop, no headphone jack.
It hasn't got any feature, just tone.
I want to use this amp for gigs, and it has enough volume, i'll mic it either way. It is used in my bedroom at the minute, and it is very loud.I use a les paul standard, with BUrstbckers
It runs on 2X EL84's and 2X 12AX7's. Volume, Tone and Gain. Basic, but it accomplishes a lot.

I play a les paul standard with burst buckers. I play rock/ blues based rock. For what i play it does a great job. It would be great to run 2 at a time, using one for clean and the other for overdriven tones, but, well it isn't gonna happen for a while.
I run a les paul into it. It sounds great. It is a real meat and potatos sound that i want, but it hink i'll have to get a revrb unti for it... when the time comes.
When the gain is rolled in, it just screams and is almost a metal tone. I don't need, or use that much gain, but, it does go into the great rock tone territory in my opinion. You van get a great Billy Gibbons and Slash style tones. It'll allow a lot of fun, if you want to have fun with it, it'll play along.

It is very tough.....BUT, the first one i got was fricked from the day i got it. The gain pot was faulty, making this unholy crunch whenever it was dialed in. Not good to my ears. It wa sok in one place, move ever so slightly, CRUNCH! CRACKLE! GRANDMA'S DEAD! you get the idea.
I don't neglect my gear, so it got taken to where i bought it from and he got ahold of Orange, and they danced around it for as long as they could. They didn't have a gain pot floating around in the parts department... how wise of a multi-national company, don't have parts. So they replaced it.... eventually.
I have no opiinion because the new one i've gotten hasn't really been plaed enough to be judged yet, but it sound's the same as the original one with the farked gain pot.

Where i got it from, Blank Guitars and Amps, Nelson Parade, Williamstown, was very helpful, but Orange aUstrali wheren't. They simply didn't do much until they were backed into a corner and all they could do was take back the buggered one, and give me a new one.
I emailed them, Orange UK, with a very ignorant question abou ohms, and the emailed me back very quickly, so that helped me when i needed it.

I only play one electric guitar, my les paul. With these two togther the sound is great, but i have said it before, i would love reverb.
I don't think anyone who is used to going thru amps that are multi channel and going from clean to dirty in the tap of a foot will hate this amp, but they would have to learn about their volume controls and pickup selector.
If it were lost or stolen, i'd probably buy something different. I realise i am contradicting what i have said, but 2 channels in a class A amp, the AD30, is a far better option, only because it has more versatility in the two pre amp channels.
I compared it to Laney 30 watters, Epiphone's, and i found what i thought was the best sound out of them. For t's price and tone, it is a cut above the rest.
If you buy this amp, you'll be pleased with it's volume, and it's tone. If you want a Slashlike tone, this is a great choice. But if you want versatility in the true sense, then you'll be buggerising around with effects, as this amp is just a great tone machine.
Volume in most places shouldn't be a problem, becuase, if you want an even sound, you are going to mic up, so the "there isn't going to be enough volume" problem isn't there. An AC 30 is twice the volume, and to get it to the sweet spot it has to be pushed, and if it is non-master, your audience won't be dancing and having fun, they'll be complaining about the volume.
I tend to wind out the pickups, and run them on half fuel. I run neck at half aminly, and use my brige for the gutsy stuff.
I wouldn't run any effects with this if i could help it, but in cover band land, certain songs won't sound the same without their tremalo, phaser... what have you.
BUT! You won't need an overdrive pedal, just learn about volume controls and pickup selectors.

This is a very simple amp, as you can read the features below. I comes with JJ EL84 power tubes and JJ 12AX7 pre amp tubes. I've owned this amp for just over two months. I waited a bit before I wrote this review due to the fact that I didn't bond with it right away. I finally got a proper cab for it, a 1 x 12 earcandy cab with an Eminence Swamp Thang. It took over a month to get the speaker to come to life and that made a huge difference. One thing to need to know is that the tone control is really nothing more than a treble bleed off and not a true tone control. I hooked up an EQ unit out front and it made a huge difference (MXR 10 band EQ). This is a very high gain amp and I find very little use for adding any gain other than a bit sor playing a solo. Although it's rated at 15/7 watts this is one loud little guy. I have used it on some smaller gigs (50 - 75 people) and I had no issue getting over the drummer without diming the lil'guy. The only thing I'll likely do is to retube it once the warranty runs out. I would like to change out the pre-amp tubes with 12AT7's to give me a bit more clean headroom. This amp is sold as a practice/jam amp it can handle small venues really well.
The thing I like about it is that it is much lighter than my other amps (a Fender Twin Reverb II and a marshall JCM800). I can now just put the head into it's cute little carying bag and throw it over my shoulder the cab in one hand and my guitar in the other. After having back surgery several years ago. this feature has been a god send
I cave it am 8 here mostly due to needing and EQ unit to make it come to life

I use this with a variety of guitars. My sons Strat, my homemade strat-o-monster, fender american tele, gretsch black falcon, and a gibson ES125TCD (dual P-90's). THis amp responds very well to all of them but sounds best with the gibson (the gibson is a hollow body and feedbacks if too close). I found the cleans are acceptable when running thru a very efficent speaker. The amp is very sensitive to your picking dynamics, so even when running clean, if you dig hard it will still overdrive a bit (a good thing in my book). There is just a bit of hum when the gain is turned up, but that is typical for a high gain amp. when the gain is turned down, like 12 or 1 o'clock) it is a very quiet high gain amp. I place mostly blues and classic rock (I'm old) and it fits very well with the classic rock tone and does a pretty nice job of modern blues. I won't comment on how it sounds doing any form of metal, because I don't play metal. I can get a vey nice AC/DC or Black Sabbath tone without really trying.

This is a stock Tiny Terror that was "modded" by Jule Potter - I bought it new in January of 08. All the same basic stuff applies.
Sound Quality
:10
So after doing some research, I ordered a "Jule Modded" Tiny Terror from www.bassexchange.com last week and I received it 2 weeks ago with great anticipation. For those that don't know, a guy in California by the name of Jule Potter takes the TT and does some sound and longevity mods for about 125 bucks (do a search and you will find some info.).
Upon first inspection I gotta say this little amp is built like a tank.....I think you could drop it from the ceiling and it would be ok - its like a little brick As everyone knows this thing is basic...Volume/Tone/Gain and one 16 ohm and two 8ohm outputs in the back. Switchabale between 15 and 7 watts.
So I plug the thing in and let it warm up (I have it plugged into an Orange 2x12 Cab with Eminence speakers), pull out the old Eltist LP and give it a spin. All I can say is HOLY Crap this thing sounds friggin awesome!! I first played it clean with the volume a bit past half way, tone at 3 O'Clock and the gain at about 10 O'Clock and it was a wonderfully spanky tone with just a tiny hint of break up - if you wanted it. It should be noted that this amp is very sensitive to pick attack and has great dynamic response (which is something Jule improves in the amp). It is very easy to get a wonderfully gritty blues tone.
Next, I cranked the gain to 3 O'Clock and the volume to just past halfway (This thing is LOUD) and it is pure overdriven bliss. The distortion is defined and very organic sounding (again the improved definition is something the Jule mod is supposed to improve upon). The distortion can be classic rock to bordering on metal...especially if you use an OD pedal.
One observation/recommedation for those looking at one is that this amp prefers to be plugged into directly and cranked up free of any outside influence.....pedals need not apply. This amp does not seem to be pedal friendly and it just doesn't sound good if you - let's say - set it up clean and run a distortion pedal through. It just does not sound to good to my ears but I did not spend a lot of time trying to make it work. My TS9 seemed to be ok as a boost. I kept going back to just the pure amp and I couldn't stop messing around....it sounds that good. It should be noted I am playing it through an Orange 2x12 Cab with Eminence speakers.....
Bottom line - Highly recommended

I really love this TT (in either form stock or modded) and it suits my need perfectly....I pack it up and bring it to my friends house and just plug it into one of his 4x12 cabs and play....that simple. I am a classic rock kinda guy and this amp does it perfectly.

Have collection of vintage single end class A's (one dating to 1930's), various modern AB's, and couple high gain types as well. The reviews here piqued my interest.
Great sounding little amp. As others have said, holds it's own in rehearsals and moderate/slightly heavey drummer. Blew the minds at a jam session when showed up with my "toaster" and a 1x10 cabinent and they had to turn UP!!!
The sound and articulation varies GREATLY with the speaker used. Sounded good through 4x10 vintage Jensen cab.
Excellent through my old 15" McCauley equiped cab.
Fun and articulate through a 1x10 Eminence Ramrod. Little more lows and growl with Rajun Cajun.
2x12 Eminence Private Jacks sound full, rich, with nice tone textures - clean through fully driven terror settings.
Surprising FLAT, DULL, & missing the highs through Celestion Vin30 ?!
Same goes for 2x12 Carvin's. (Both Celestion and Carvins fine with my other el84 and 6l6 amps, but not with the terror - curious).
Can't go wrong, Just a fun little amp that will hook you- provided you mate it with the right speaker(s).
-----------------
Loves pedals. A good clean boost can put this little guy into firm metal territory and still retain the guitar's articulation (no mud). Find don't need overdrive pedals unless wanting to run the amp clean and have the pedal act as a dirty channel.

The simplest amp ever made, I'd say. on-standby-off, 15-7 watt
switch, master, one knob of eq, gain, 1 imput.
really, can't be easier than this, and I appreciate that a lot : I'm for simplicity !
on the other hand, is an 1 trick pony : If you don't like the trick,
you don't like the amp, there is absolutely no way to change
( I mean, really change) the tone. no effect loop,no reverb, nada.

first of all, I want to say that my impressions are so different from
other reviewer's that I begin to suspect that my tiny terror is a defective one !
this boy has 1 sound, you like it, You hate it, 1 sound.
so taste and try, before you buy.
first, the good news : it has volume. don't be deceived by the size,
if you like distortion , this amp can stand a small-gig and a rehearse
with a mid-heavy drummer. what about clean ? reasonably over-driven
clean, is available at usable volume. the valve saturation is warm,
good, responsive to pick, great dynamics, and I like it.
now, bad part.
I used it a with a fender"the twin" cabinet, maybe not the best speakers
available, and with a rick 360-6,good qualiy cable.
simply put, I can't say that is a bad tone, but I don't like it.
I've read in other reviews that You get a lot of tones simply turning the eq
knob. duh...no fender sound in it, definitely anything resembling the vox
chime...maybe marshall, but with less bite.
this amp has no treble !
with a rick 360 and a strat , the bridge pick-up,
( 2 of the trebliest combinations available in the guitar universe),
amp eq knob all the way to trebleland, still it sounds muffed.
Forget "Turn, Turn, Turn" but also "won't get fooled again", not
enough attack. You can get close to Randy California solos, or even more to the
sound of "Vincebus Eruptum" by blue cheer.
it only gets good when you make it scream...ok, nice, but I can't make
a whole gig of ultra overdriven solo .
Or maybe I can ?

I've played from 1989, almost 20 years.
2 records (rather obscure, I admit : check us out @
myspace/philomankindband.com), lot of gigs in any
situation. played, or heard, a lot of tube amps :
fender, marshall, vox, brunetti, peavey, music man .
now, I'm the happy owner of Vox ac30 and I found my sound
at last ! but I was scared by the "unreliability" buzz, so I needed
a small head to carry as a back up. I have the bassman but it's half
my weight (I sold a fender "the twin"... 45 Kilos ! to carry it
was a drag and took away all the pleasure from music)
this one seemed to fit perfectly,
light as a camera, small...something confortable.
.. Unfortunately, it has not a sound useful for my style ( mid 60's
Townshend, George Harrison's sound in "Revolver"), I will
only use it connected to the vox speakers if the vox refuse to
work.
