Purchased new in 1997 or thereabouts. Marshall-designed solid state, 10" speaker, 2 channels (footswitchable) clean channel level only, o/d channel gain + level, shared 3-band eq and reverb level. Headphone jack, which is IMHO a useless feature even for a practice amp! Would have preferred an ext. speaker jack and/or line out, and seperate tone controls for each channel, but you get what you pay for, I suppose.

Sound Quality : 7
I use an original '62 Strat as my main guitar, with a '75 Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty re-issue as my backup. Occasionally use an Ibanez 6/12 double-neck, and a couple of guiatrs which I built myself (Tele-style 6-string and Futurama-style 12-string electrics). I play in an AOR covers band, anything from Abba to ZZ Top, private functions of around 120 people in small venues. The Park handled everything except larger venues with ease. I used mainly the clean channel, with an Ibanez PT3 multi-effects unit and a Boss GE7 set for a bit of mid- and volume boost for solos. The o/d channel was set also for some volume boost with minimum distortion, as I preferred the Ibanez overdrive(TS9 rules!) The clean channel produced great crunch with the GE7 engaged - switching to the drive channel could get a bit noisy, especially adding the outboard o/d, and when the Ibanez was switched to distortion mode things could get messy. But overall I could get enough variety for what I needed. The down side was the lack of independent tone controls on each channel, as when the clean channel was set the way I liked it, the drive channel was a bit shrill. Never really experimented with the amp's dist. channel as a result. Also felt that the 10" speaker was a bit on the small side - would have preferred a 12". Overall, however, and particularly in retrospect, the sound was great for the price.

Reliability : 10
I used the amp without a backup for 4 years without any problems at all. It was the most reliable amp I have ever owned.

Customer Support : No Opinion
As a result, did not need customer support, although knowing the local network, I don't believe that I would have had any problems in this department.

I have been playing for 35 years. I own an original Vox AC30, a blonde Bassman head with a Bandmaster 2wX12 cab, a Gibson Lancer, a Fender Princeton 112plus and a Carlsbro GLX40se. The Vox is noisy and bulky, the Bassman is great but temperamental, the Gibson is nice but too small, the Princeton is too loud and noisy and the distortion sucks, and I just can't get a decent sound out of the Carlsbro's lead channel. I sold the Park and bought the Carlsbro because it has a 12" speaker and more features than the Park. Big mistake! I then bought the Princeton because it is a Fender. I should have kept the Park, and I am selling both the Princeton and the Carlsbro and will probably buy a Marshall MG30 because the Park is no longer in production and because the Marshall has a few more features. I hope it is as good an amp as the Park.

You see the other reviews, it has the distortion, clean and reverb as well as 3 band eq and footswitch. 25 watts of great practice power. This amp is like a little gift I got from a thrift store for $6.00 with seized knobs. A little WD40 in the pots and its clean as a whistle and brand new on the inside. So, how can I be mean to a six dollar amp?

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Kramer Focus 1000 because I'm a drummer and not even a hack on guitar and am not skilled enough to care much but enjoy the occasional hammer-on (who doesn't?) I like the versatility of this little amp and I can see how real players would be dissatisfied but I've heard a lot worse in my day and I find the sounds OK. The ten rating takes the price and versatility into consideration.

Reliability : 8
In a gig I would mic it at mid volume with a AKG C-1000-S mic and boost from the mixer. Also to add some brightness I would point it into a corner with a big heavy ride cymbal for adding brightness and sustain. If you can get a higher end amp for gig's you probably will be glad you did however. I have noticed these amps tend to loose their knobs on e-bay and mine is no different. If there is one thing a guy doesn't want to do, its loose his knob.

Customer Support : 10
It was 6 bucks and dang it I want customer service now!!!! marshall is a great company however.

Overall Rating : 10
I need to try the pedal switch feature because without a pedal it's a pretty harsh transition when switching using the button. Right now I hat that load burst of noise when I switch by pushing the 2nd channel in. I love it's light weight for practice, size, clean, distorted and reverb options and the 3 band eq is ok. The price was the main thing and I wouldn't have bought it otherwise because I don't need an amp. I may try it as a powered stage monitor for my drum gigs. I wish it had knobs that would stay on and not strip out, I wish it would transition between channels cleaner and I wish it was quieter overall. If anyone has an owners manual, brochure or history info in a scan or mailable copy please think of mailing it to me Marty Evert 9300 West Mall Drive #B205 Everett, WA 98208-2165. I'll reimburse any costs. I also need amp knobs if you can help. e-mail is 63es175@premier1.net. (I sold my 1963 Gibson es175 because I'm a 'tard!!!)

Clean, distortion channels. Its an amp.

Sound Quality : 10
The distortion isn't great, But the clean channel is perfect for distortion pedals. Every pedal I have plugged into this amp has sounded great. I tried my pedals with Peavey, Crate, Fender, and others, and they all sounded horrible. The Park has a full clean channel that works well with distortion pedals.

Reliability : No Opinion
I guess we'll see.

Customer Support : 10
Marshall has answered my questions pretty fast.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall I got this amp as my practice amp to use with my distortion pedals. I play a good three or more hours a day, and was going through tubes fast on my tube amp. Great amp for distortion pedals. And even better at this price.

Reasonable features...2 channel clean/overdriven...footswitchable...also has reverb, and 3 band eq.

Sound Quality : 4
Never tried it with single, but even with humbuckers it's pretty noisy.
Sounds OK on overdriven, I can make it sound exactly like The Offspring, or Green Day.
But for me, the clean channel just doesn't cut it...I have tried and tried but I just cannot get it to sound good. With too much treble it just goes right through me and sounds too in your face...I prefer a warmer mellow sort of sound...But with too little treble it just sounds pissy and without any detail to the sound...Even the reverb can't help out here, I just can't make it sound good at all...

Reliability : 8
Well...When I bought it the headphone jack didn't work, I haven't got round to getting that sorted yet...
I do trust it though...I think it will carry on for years and years performing as it does now, but that isn't actually all that well.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Bought it second hand.

Overall Rating : 4
I think it is a great amp *for the price I paid*
But I really would not recommend it for a beginner simply because I think they would stop playing because of the bad sound, they would assume it was them that sucked!
The clean channel just really really sucks and if I want to play clean I find that I usually just pick up my acoustic!

Made in the mid 90's, not exremely versatile to me but I'm a tone freak(but don't spend much on gear) so I guess its alright. Played Metal/rock/blues on it so far and has done alright. 2 footswitchable channels, headphone jack, no FX loop. All solid state (clips out all that high end that I love!). 25 watts just isn't enough for me anymore.

Sound Quality : 7
Used with Humbuckers it does well, single coils are noisy. It gets nice and chrunchy when I play Metallica, but doesnt cut it for my blues. The clean Channel starts to distort at around 8, with bass and treble on 10 it starts a little earlier. The distortion on it is good for Soloing(nice and thick) but feeds back rather quickly when pushed. I like the clean channel though..it reacts well with distortion pedals.

Reliability : 7
I've tinkered with it a bit, but other than that no problems. Don't think I'd trust it for a gig though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't have the warranty when i bought it. So I couldn't tell ya.

Overall Rating : 6
I've been playing for almost 5 years. I run it with a Jackson USA Dinky Reverse, a Samick SG replica, an Amer. Std. Strat,a Zoom505, and a Morley volume/wah. If stolen I'd be happy to claim it on my insurance and buy a different amp. I like the clean channel, the "footswitchability" and the flexability of the EQ's but I just need something with more POWER. If you want a Marshall..buy a Marshall, not a Park. They just are not the same.

Solid State, 2 channel, Footswitch input, Reverb, Headphone Out. 1994 model.

Sound Quality : 4
To me the Overdrive channel blows goats. Just a bunch of grit. But the Clean channel is decent for a little practice amp. The amp would only be useful in a small bedroom or possibly a dining room. ;)

It's not loud enough to play with drums and it feeds back way too much to be useful at higher volumes. Turning the volume knob past half way is pretty much useless because it won't get any louder.

Reliability : 3
All the pots on the amp are dirty and don't function anymore. I took it to only two little parties.

I wouldn't bother.

This amp is a 25W amp made by Park. It has 2 channels : Clean and Overdriven. It also has a Reverb Knob for either Clean and overdriven channel. Of course you can adjust the bass, mid, treble. There's a gain knob on the distorsion channel to play from rock n' roll to metal. I didn't get a switch pedal with it no doubt because it's a second hand. This amp is ideal to practise at home but it appears difficult to play on stage or rehearsals with drums.

Sound Quality : 6
I used this amp with an Epiphone LP special model. The sound is pretty accurate and good at low level in either clean and overdriven channel. But as soon as you turn your level up to 7, the tone becomes dirty and harsh. The clean channel distorded a lot on bass cords and the overdriven one larsens as soon as you stop playing. This amp is definitely a good amp at low volumes. You can get a very pretty bluesy sound by putting your bass mic and a bit of reverb. As I said you cant gig with it. I know what I'm speaking about, I tried to... My tone was horrible. That's why I bought a Metal Zone, the Distorsion is far better but it didn't resolve my problems of power.

Reliability : No Opinion
As it is a second hand, I won't give a mark in this category. But, In my case, I can say this amp is not very solid. I own it for about 1 year and I fastly had problems with the reverb that didnt work sometimes. It wasn't very bothering in my case but can be very annoying if you play blues for example. Far more important : a few weeks ago my distorsion channel knew a break down. My distorsion is now harsh and has no more trebles. But it is comprehensible because I use it a lot, I bring it with me at rehearsals and put it at max volumes, so the break down was in a way inevitable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with the company... I won't give a mark in this category then.

Overall Rating : 7
I ever said that but : don't buy this amp to gig. With this park you can only play at home to practise and improve. In that way, I would say it's a very good amp for beginners with a good tone and a low price.

25 Watts, 2 channel, footswitch, reverb, gain, volume, bass, mid, treble. Good features for a low end amp - great for entry level guitarist.

Sound Quality : 3
As I said, great for entry level. When I owned this amp, I was playing a squire strat (my 1st guitar). This was actually my second amp - I traded in a Peavey 1x10 that was rated at like 30 watts or something. This Park blew it away in terms of volume and tone - the reverb was a plus too. That doesn't say much for the peavey since i'm giving this a 3. But - I'm just being realistic. Don't try jamming with a drummer or worse - gigging with this amp. It's useless for those purposes. It's really just a practice amp. Solid state = horrible tone

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
like I said, never had a problem.

Overall Rating : 5
What can I say, it suits it's purpose. It's a solid state practice amp manufactured by Marshall. Nothing more, nothing less. Pretty decent tone for apartment level tinkering. I've long since upgraded to tube amps. Bottom line, I wouldn't buy another one. I've outgrown the solid state world of amps. They just don't cut it, no matter how much you pay, no matter what they claim, they just don't compare to tubes.

I bought this amp new in 1994. It's a solid state 25 watt amp made by Park (the cheap range from Marshall) and has two channels - clean and overdriven - and they are both adequate for the purpose of practising at home. The clean channel is quite nice and, combined with the reverb, can give some nice clean blues sounds. Meanwhile, by varying the gain on the overdriven channel, you can get anything from rockabilly through to thrash. Nothing outstanding but very flexible.

The amp has an effects loop, the option of a channel footswitch and a headphone socket.

Sound Quality : 7
I use a Hohner ST Savage (must write a review for that soon) which is a superstrat type guitar....locking trem, humbuckers in neck and bridge and a central single coil pick-up. I also use the Digitech RP3.

Mainly I play the RP3 direct through to the clean channel and use the RP3 for distortion and most reverb. The amp is great for low volume playing but, if you want to gig, this amp is not loud enough. I did a work gig with my set-up and found that, with the volume at 7 or 8, it was incredibly difficult to stop your playing dissolving into a chaotic mess of feedback...

Reliability : 10
Very reliable. It has been dropped, kicked, had beer spilt all over it and survived a number of house moves....and I haven't even had to change a fuse on it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to deal with customer support so no way of knowing....

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for seven years but, if you add my total practise time up, it's probably more like four days! I love my little Park and would be devastated if he were stolen....but I wouldn't buy another one (it's like when you're a kid and your pet dog dies...a new dog the same isn't going to help!). I'd probably get something bigger and shinier....

But, he's done my fine over the last six years and I'm sure he'll last for many more!
