UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW:

after playing with this amp for a few weeks, including a recording session, this has to be one of the best amps i've ever heard. ultra-sensitive to your attack. i've found that the way to control the sound-level is to crank down the volume on your guitar and crank up the volume of the amp to get that slight fuzz on the clean channel without ruining your friendship with your neighbors. in this manner, a light strum or a pluck of the strings will resonate like an electric-acoustic, and a heavy strike with a pick will produce lead-like, slightly overdriven tones. awesome for blues and works for a lot of alt/rock as well. since you can buy them online for as low as $169 USD, this amp rates an 11.

i just got this park/marshall amp in the mail (i bought it off ebay for a steal). as you know from the other reviews, 2 channels, 30 watts, 10" speaker. volume, bass, and treble on the clean channel. gain, bass, contour (i think that's what they call the mids), treble, and volume on the dirty channel. reverb that works on both channels. uses a footswitch (sold seperately for about $20). external line out and headphone 1/4 " jacks. 1/4" cd (line in) and one 1/4" instrument input. the reverb is a real spring reverb and sounds much better than the digital reverb effects i've heard. the only things that this amp doesn't have but would be nice are an on/off switch activated by footswitch for the reverb, an external speaker jack, and a master volume. as others have stated i'm comparing this amp to others of the same wattage and price range.

Sound Quality : 10
i'm currently playing with a jackson dinky reverse, standard set-up. i generally only use the humbucker at the bridge for the tone i like. i tend to play just about everything that could be considered rock & roll/metal/alternative rock/guitar rock/etc... i've only played around with it for a few hours, but i'm very impressed. this little beast has such a rich warm tone that i've forever converted to the park/marshall amps. with a little tweaking, i was able to get sounds ranging from keith richards (stones) to eddie van halen, to 60's surf. i'm in love with the spring reverb unit on this amp. i've heard both that this amp sounds 'louder' than 30 watts, and also that the sound can tend to break up past 7 or 8 on the volume knob(s). both are true. you gotta realize that with good quality musical equipment, rated power isn't with the gain and volume maxed out. this thing will put out 30 pure, clear watts on the dirty channel with the gain and volume knobs set around 7 to 8. you can get a little louder without sacraficing quality, but if you crank both knobs, you're gonna get about 50 watts of semi-mud (which could be a good thing for some alt-rock styles). the clean channel does tend to get a hint of overdrive at higher volume levels, producing a warm sound more tube-like than some of what the valvestate line has to offer. but wire a powerbrake between the amp output and the driver if you live in an apartment because you're going to be near small-gig volume levels to get this sound. this is where a master volume would be handy. overall i'm very pleased with the amp and would be if i'd paid over $200.00 for it. bearing in mind that it's a large small-amp or a small mid-size amp, it blows the competition away by a wide margin.

Reliability : No Opinion
i haven't owned it long enough to have an opinion for this specific model. i have sung in bands where marshall amps have performed flawlessly gig after gig. their reputation seems to be well-deserved, both for tone and reliability. the cabinent is pretty sturdy (i've sat my 180 lbs on it) and i don't expect this amp to see an amp-tech anytime this decade.

Customer Support : No Opinion
couldn't tell you. i bought the amp lightly used from a third-party, so i don't have a warrenty.

Overall Rating : 10
i've been playing for about 15 years off and on. i play like a madman 2+ hours a day for 3-6 months, then take a few months off for other interests. i either currently own, or have owned fender strats, vox folk electric/accoustics, gibson and epiphone lp's, kay hollowbodies, and i currently play on the afformentioned jackson. i've had peavey and yamaha amps in the past, and have used DOD effect pedals.

if this amp were lost or stolen, i'd definately get another as it's a perfect combination of small size, medium power, great tone, and overall sonic veristility, even if i had to pay over twice as much as i have.

i have compared it to my peavey audition 110 25 watt combo, which it blows away in every catagory except size (the peavey is smaller, but i think that the cabinet has something to do with the tone, so no big advantage for that one). i also went and demo'd lots of amps in the 20-50 watt range from fender, crate, gorilla, and marshall. personally, i think that the sound and features of this amp will blow away just about any combo up to the marshall avt 50 combo ($475 on sale vs $200 or less for this amp - the avt 50 just isn't worth the difference in price, $75 - maybe, but definately not worth over twice as much - there's no real difference in quality or tone, just power) it also has, i believe, a warmer clean tone than the marshall avt 20 combo which costs more and is lower wattage. the most direct comparison is the marshall mg30dfx, which adds chorus, delay and flange to the reverb, but all are digital, and the digital reverb isn't half as warm as the spring reverb on this (older) model. i'll take awesome tone over digital effects any day.

i plan on wiring a female 1/4" jack to the amp output and a male 1/4" plug to the speaker wires - this way i can re-direct the output to a 2X12 or 4X10 cab for stage-level volumes, yet keep the flexability of the small 1X10 combo for practice.

it may lose a few points for not having an external speaker jack, a footswitchable on/off for the reverb, and a master volume - but compared to anything else in the under-$300 price range, the tone blows everything else away. that's why i rate it a 10, because it's the best in it's class.

30w, 2 channels (clean/overdrive), CD in, Line out, Headphone out. Also included is reverb, which is rather good.

Sound Quality : 8
The clean channel sounds great, and if you crank the volume up you get great natural distortion. the overdrive channel is pretty versatile, with a 3 band eq, it can more or less do any sort of driven sound. I play it with an ESP, it sounds good.

Reliability : 8
The amp is too small to gig with, but for practicing, it's fine.

Never had a problem.

For 130 quid, this amp is great value for money, good for practice (it's just about powerful enough to keep up with drums).

This amp is a solid state 30 watt conmbo, with 2 channels and spring reverb, features also include CD input, great for jamming along to CD's and Line Out. It is also switchable with a Marshall footswitch a good investment at #10.00.

Sound Quality : 10
I am using it with a Yamaha Paciffica 112, sounds great on both single coil and humbucker. The clean channel gives a bright sparkling tone and the Overdrive bites giving great tones especially on the bridge humbucker....killer thrash metal tones anyone?
With the reverb a good range of tones are avalible with adjustment to the contor control really adding bite to the sound.

Reliability : 9
Never broken down, built like a tank. However the carrying strap is a bit small but still well constructed, and has never broken.
I would use it with out a backup at a gig.
Would get a 10 but for the carrying strap.

No Dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
If I it was stolen I would not buy anoughter as I want something more powerful, as a practise amp or first amp it is ace, priced very competitively with sound and performance to match.

1999 model. Good for different styles. I play mostly alternative, punk, and otherr types of rock. It has two footswitchable channels, clean and overdrive. It also has reverb, a headphone jack, line out, and a cd input. The overdrive channel has gain, bass, contour, treble and volume controls.

Sound Quality : 7
I'm currently playing a Epiphone Les Paul with a Boss DS-1 dist and a crybaby wah. I play lead and rythm parts of all sorts of music, everything from light rock to punk. The clean channel is pretty clean, there's only very light distortion if you turn the volume way up. You can get a lot of sounds from the overdrive channel. The manual gives you a couple suggestions for settings, but i find it's a lot more fun to play arround with the knobs and get your own sound. The overdrive on thte amp gets pretty fuzzy and noisy if you turn the gain up. I find that it's good for lead and picking parts, but if it's too fuzzy to get a clear sound when i'm playing chords. That's why i got a distortion pedal.

Reliability : 8
I've had the amp for a while now and it hasn't had any problems. It's an open back amp, so i'm pretty careful not to screw up the speaker or yank out aany wires.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havn't had to deal with them yet.

I've been playing guitar seriously for a couple years. I just started playing electric guitar less than a year ago and this is the first amp i got. I think that it's a really good amp for it's good price. I would reccomend that you get a distortion pedal because the overdrive on the amp isn't that great. Overall, i'd say that it's a good practice amp and i would probably buy it again.

Twin switchable channels, Clean Channel with its own Treble and Bass controls, Overdrive Channel with Gain, Bass, Contour, Treble and Volume controls, Built in Reverb, Line out, Headphone input, CD input, Single 10'' speaker - no effects loop (not an issue), just one guitar input (a practice amp could stand to have two), CD input low gain with no volume control, not suitable for guitar (not meant for guitar), and I missed a middle control of some sort on the clean channel - this probably would see me using the other channel all the time.

Sound Quality : 7
I use a Stratocaster with Texas Special pickups. I thought the amp had more than enough reverb (rare these days), more than enough volume for a practice amp, probably loud enough for small club work with band that has good control over thier volume, had a nice (but not "to-die-for") clean sound and typically average distortion.

Overall Rating : 7
This is a nice amp, however, I didn't buy it. I tried it after buying a G15RCD, which I like SO much that I figured for a few extra bucks I'd beter try out the 30 - might be even better. WRONG. While the amp sounded nice, it didn't have anywhere near the warmth or tone of the G15RCD. It was just too bright and unforgiving a tone without the "magic" that makes one fall in love with an amp. So, I decided to stick with my 15 watter instead. Aside from that, and this is no fault of the 30 watter, I also opted for the 15 because of it's size and weight which is a lot less. I bought the amp for a practice amp and to carry to friends houses for a low-level jam in the living room. The 30w begins to get away from that. (I have several larger amps, including a Marshall TSL100) Still, I think, a fairly nice amp. Not the best I've heard, but far from the worst and better than many - and a good deal for short money!

30 watt solid-state amp (pretty loud for 30 watts). Reverb, Footswitch jack, CD input (you can plug a second guitar here!). Volume, bass + treble on the clean channel. Gain, bass, contour (very cool!), treble + volume on the overdrive channel. Open back + Park Series Custom Loudspeaker (very good speaker!).

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a Yamaha Pacifica and I play heavy metal. This amp is wonderful ! Clean channel = perfect and overdrive is killer ! Reverb is very good too. Superb sustain... Perfect leads and very "trash-metal" rythm !!!

Problem with reverb (big feedback)... I'll bring it back to the shop [They will give me a new one ;-)]
Except this problem.. Anything is perfect ! :)

Just got this amp about a month ago. It is a two channel 30 watt combo amp with reverb, 1 imput, footswitch jack, CD imput jack, headphone jack, and line out. Controls include volume, bass, and treble on the clean channel, and gain, bass, contour, treble, and volume on the overdrive channel. I've been playing for about a year and a half, and have tried several amps from several companys. (Fender, Crate, etc.) I have borrowed amps from friends and tried them, and when I tried this one at a local Guitar Center, I fell in love with it. It has great control and eq on both the clean and overdrive channels. Nice clean, mean gain, lots of overdrive growl. I only wish that it came with a footswitch (has footswitch jack, footswitch not included) with a reverb on/off on it. I also love the look of this amp. Very nice power and features for a combo amp and the price.

Sound Quality : 9
As I mentioned earlier, the sound is about the best I've heard in a combo amp in this price / power range. The clean is really clean (not quite sparkling clean), and the overdrive is brutal, even turned halfway up. Turn your guitar volume down, and you got nice blues tone (not wonderful, just nice, but the best I've heard in this price range). I play it with my Fender Mexican Strat, and I really like the clean tone. Again, really nice for the price!

Reliability : 8
I was impressed with the durability of this amp (one of the reasons I chose it. I was also impressed with the company's reputation.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them. I think it's got a lifetime warranty, so I 'm not worried. Needs a better owners manual.

Overall Rating : 9
If this amp were stolen, I'd buy it again. I thought is was the best amp for the price, considering the company, features and overall sound. Very nice.

30 watts. Two channels; clean with volume, bass, and treble controls; overdrive with gain, contour, bass, treble, and volume controls. Also GREAT sounding reverb on both channels. One input, a footswitch jack, line out jack, headphone jack, and CD input jack. I bought a Marshall footswitch for it also, and the channel switching is almost inaudible. These controls can accomodate almost any style of playing, and I've been able to get the exact sound that I've wanted, whatever sound that might be, with only a little fiddling with the knobs ect. Also, a big plus for me, I have a DOD Stereo Flanger that I love to use, and so far this is the only amp that I've used it on, that both the reverb and the flanger can be on at the same time without terrible noises coming from the reverb springs.

Sound Quality : 10
Once again, exactly what I was looking for. I made it a point when I went out and bought this amp to not sacrafice one bit of sound quality for power. I was amazed at what I ended up getting. The clean channel can be cranked all the way until the knob stops turning, and it's still as clean as a whistle. The distortion as well gets super super loud, but sounds just as amazing as it does at normal levels. The versatility of this amazing marvel of modern technology is another thing that just astounded me right away. The different possible sounds that you can make this baby sing blew me away. with just a few little twists, and stomps, this thing can go from John Denver to Randy Rhodes, and everywhere in between.

Reliability : No Opinion
well, I havent' yet had any problems whatsoever, although it is only a month old, I am being very optimistic, and not expecting any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I just got it a month ago

Overall Rating : 9
9 because nothing is perfect, and I'm sure if I looked harder there's a chance that I may have found a 10.
