I use my PG10 at home for practice and have used it in the sudio. There is not a lot of versatility in the sound department, 2 gains, volume and 3 tone controls. No reverb.

Prominently, I use a '83 custom tele with humbuckers that is a hot guitar. With the Park turned up and both gain controls maxxed I get a great natural distortion ( much like the early British bands, The Who, Yardbirds, Kinks). At a lower voulume the clean is quiet.

I originally both this amp for by son the day Cobain died. Four years later I bought my son a Randhall 212 combo and I took back the Park and have played it in all practice at home and all studio situations. In the studio we set up the amp in a small room (bathroom), turn it up, put one mic close and one away and tape it. Great Sound

This little amp was built in 1996/97. It has two gain channels, Bass/Mid/Treb EQ dials, master volume, and reverb. One input and a headphone jack pretty much round out the features. Not much to this little sucker.
This was my only amp for almost a year after my first amp burned out and I was VERY short on cash. I now use it exclusively as a practice amp when I don't want to wake up the neighbors. It has about as much power as a little solid-state 10W amp can have, I suppose.

I use a Mexican Fender Strat through this amp with two single coil pickups and a Lace Sensor Humbucker on the bridge. I just put a Les Paul Standard on layway, but theres no way I'm plugging that sweet guitar into this amp!
To be fair, this amp is really pretty flexible *for the size*. With the gains down low, it gives a pretty clean tone. The equilizers allow for a nice, buttery kind of jazz sound or a twangy country sound. Between the amp and the features built into the strat, I have never found myself unable to get the sound I want. Unfortunately, it starts to break up long before you can get it very loud. To get any kind of volume at all on this amp, you have to accept some distortion. I found that it could play nearly any style as long as its kept at a low volume. Once you start cranking the volume, however, its sound becomes very limited.
The distortion on this amp is surprisingly good. It's got a pretty good crunch to it when you dial both gains to 10 and start pushing the master volume. After the master volume reaches around 6, however, you start getting a really horrible monotone feedback wail. If volume isn't your thing, however, the tones on this amp are pretty good.
For home recording, if you jam this amp up to a microphone it can actually be useful. When it's pushed right up to the envelope it'll give you a really cool ragged-out kind of Led Zep distortion. I played a blues jam session on this amp and it sounded very nice on tape. Unfortunatley, I couldn't hear the dammn thing when I was playing it!
Overall, good bang for the buck.

This little thing is tough as nails. I've dropped it while playing, kicked it, thrown it into car trunks, and played it loud and long. It still sounds fine. Very reliable.
I can't even play in a garage band with this amp let alone gig with it. Not nearly enough volume to peek out over other instruments. If you have a drummer, forget this amp for jam sessions. If, however, you were playing in a TINY room, this amp would never let you down.

This is a practice amp for beginners. Period. It serves that function as well as any other amp I've used. I was strapped for cash at the time and this was all I could afford. AS soon as I had the money, I went out and bought a Fender Performer 650. I still kept the Park, however, and its my "apartment" amp at the moment.
It's hard to be objective about this amp after stepping up to the bigger leagues, but at the time it had the best sound that I could afford. A solid little amp for the money. I'd highly recommend it for beginners. I've been playing guitar for seven years, so this amp isn't used much any more. If it got stolen I probably wouldn't notice until I no longer had to vacuum around the thing.

I play a Lotus guitar with 3 single coil pickups. It was my first guitar and my first amp, but I've played others. Surprisingly, it made my cheap guitar sound very good. The clean sound isn't great, but the distortion is killer. You can turn the gain all the way up and it won't buzz till you get the volume to like 7.

This was my first amp, and it is still the best small amp I have ever seen. It is pretty simple, it has 2 gains, 3 band EQ, and master volume. Unfortunately, it is only one channel, which forced me to go buy distortion pedals. It has great clean and overdriven tones, but you'll have to stop and turn some knobs to switch.

I got this amp along with a Yamaha Pacifica 112 after I had played acoustic for a year. I was really into Weezer and Green Day, so the distortion of the Pacifica's bridge humbucker along with fully pumped gains suited me. If you scoop out the mid tones on clean, you get a great ska sound.

I used this amp for 2 years, and the only reason I got a new amp was I couldn't keep up with a drummer. The only problem I ever had was after blasting it every weekend with a drummer friend (I have 40 or 50), the treble was just gone. It didn't have the punch it used to. That was from my abuse though.

I've been playing for almost 4 years, and this is a great amp to sit down and learn how to play guitar. It worked fine for me until I was a pretty good player, not a learner, and I needed volume. It is a good practice amp. It will not keep up with a band though, unless your drummer doesn't have cymbals. This is the best amp of it's kind, I've never seen a better amp in it's watt or price range.

I very much like it's small size and portability. Also it appears to be constructed of something better than heavy and weak chip-board. It sounds like an amp twice it's size. Don't crank it above what it was designed for and it will probably last forever.

This is a solid-state 10W amp with an 8" (I think, haven't measured) speaker. I'm not sure if the model is PG10 or simply G10. It has two gain knobs, treble, mid and bass controls plus volume. One input jack (and a headphone jack) and one channel. Plenty for me... I still don't know why it has two gain controls, I could live with one. I've never played on a gig, and don't think I will (at least not seriously), and for home-use it's loud enough.
Sound Quality
:

I've mostly used it with a Tokai Custom Edition (cheap used guitar despite the fancy name) with the bridge pickup (humbucker), and I really like the sound. Especially the distortion with the gain knobs turned all the way up is great (even on moderate volumes). Clean sound is nice and warm, too, and with the gain knobs it is possible to adjust the amount of distortion to whatever level you want from none to "a lot". Of course, you are then stuck to playing with that amount of distortion until you readjust it (or buy an effect pedal)...
One thing it does not do too well is produce lower sounds than a normally tuned guitar produces. I've tried down-tuning my guitar a lot (up to 5 steps for Type O Negative type of things), and the sound can get a bit mushy. However, it does handle Black Sabbath very well...
Reliability

I've had it for a few years, and it's never given me the slightest bit of trouble. Then again, I don't handle expensive (okay, it's cheap for such a good amp, but 900FIM (around US$170) is still a lot) equipment roughly... The worst it's been through is that it's been frozen (and roasted) in a car trunk several times, but that doesn't seem to affect it. It seems quite solid, but I'd still hate to bang it around. I won't give it a rating here, because a 10 would seem too much as I really don't know how much real abuse it can stand.

I've been playing for about 5 years, and this small amp has served me well and faithfully. I'll never sell it, but I recently bought a new (and a lot better) guitar, and now I'm thinking of also buying a more serious amp. Don't take me wrong, I'll still keep using this even if I do, and I think it is a great first amp. If it got stolen, though... Don't know. I didn't do too much comparing when I bought it, because my then roommate had one and I knew how good it was.
Yes, I know any serious player would never consider buying one of these, but I'm not one, and if you a looking for a small not-too-noisy first (or practise) amp, give it a try.

The two gain controls and the Treb., Mid., and Bass controls that actually do sonething are what make this great. I can go from B.B. King blues (occasionally) to loud punk roars of Nirvana. Did I mention it's used and is 13 years old, formerly in a house that burned down with it inside?

I range from classic rock to punk/metal. It's good for clean, crisp tones, with excellent treble. Lots of distortion too, but of the muddy variety. With the gains set down less then halfway, the clean sound doesnt distort at full volume. I use it with a strat syle guitar (Sebring sb300) with VMI pickups. For a first amp, I definetely recommend it.
Reliability

The only drawback to this amp is that the knobs are cheepy looking and fall off easily. Plus, one of the gains started making a crackling sound when it gets turned. Poor quality tuners overall, but that has little to do with the quality of the sound, which is great for an amp of its caliber.

As a first amp I'd buy it again, but you may get bored with its lack of reverb. I've had it for a year and I'm already looking for a higher tier amp. However, If you're budget is cramped, and you're in the market for a good first amp, you cant go much wrong with this one.

It has a good thick sound. Really good for a small amp. I mostly play anything from punk to hardcore to grunge (whatever that means) so for that I guess it sounds good. I don't know about the distortion it puts out though, I usally use it as clean as possible then distort it with a pedal. And for that it sound good.

It is pretty crappy after about a year all the pots, I mean all the pots not just one or two, got really fuct up. I don't abuse the amp or anything its just basically unplayable anymore because you have to move the pots around just to get a sound out of it. Most other people I know started out with this amp or like the crate gx15, and the exact same thing happened

Big time variety. I use it for everything from metal to jazz and don't really need to many external effects to get most normal tones. Quiet, too.
