Peavey 115 E cabinet....not sure of it's age. I just stumbled on this cab while purchasing the Peavey Classic 50 (4-10")used. I asked the seller to sit the 115 E underneith the Classic 4-10". The depth & space it added was tremendous. This was gonna be my spare rig, now it's my main rig.

I play 6-nights a week with two different house bands doing all covers except metal. I use the cleaner sounds of the amp and let my Digitech RP-10 do all the dirty work. This cabinet helps define the lower end of my tones that the 4-10" cab just wont produce. Then, there's the element of moving air. Having this extention cab moves more sound, easier at less volume. It's a comfortable wall of sound instead a sharp, focused or "pinched" sound pressure. I never really tried other extention cabs so I could'nt give that kind of comparison. But I recomend all players of Classic 50 (4-10"s or 2-12"s) and Classic 30 to at least try to find one of these cabs (used). I promise it adds not only volume, but richness and fullness.

I've only had the cabinet for 4 months.....no problems

I have 7 peavey amps. Always had great service. Peavey techs are easily accessable thru the internet ot the telephone.

Been playing professionly and as sole income for 22 years. If this cab were lost, I'd have to replace it. Too bad it's not made anymore. WHY NOT?
Also this cab is relativly light. It has the handle on the side which is good because it doesn't get in the way when you stack an amp on it.

I believe this is a 1993 extension cabinet which I purchased used a few months ago. It is the same size cabinet as Peavey's tweed 410 ext. cab; this one has the 115 "no label" (Eminence made) speaker in it. One 1/4" jack on back, 16 ohms ~ made to be used with Peavey's Classic series amps or other head/amp/combo that it can be matched with. Has metal feet on one side (opposite the leather handle); rubber feet on the "bottom," so it will stay put if placed on top of another cab. Very simple, but has what it needs to do the job.

I'm using this cab with two amps, a Peavey Delta Blues 115 and an Ultra 410. It sounds great and adds dimension to both, but it really shines with the Ultra, especially with the internal 10s unplugged!!

I use the cab alternatively with both of these amps in our worship band, which plays the usual worship stuff, but we're not afraid to "rock" when called for; I've used the crunch and Ultra channels on the amp in an auditorium that seats 600-750 people. The 115 cab gives me more sound, since I'm not (yet) miking my amp and running it through our P.A.

Here's the deal, as I mentioned: this thing is downright awesome with the Ultra amp driving it, especially with the internal 4 10's unplugged!! It sounds very 3-D, crisp, round, with lots of character...makes the 10s sound flat by themselves. I've even been tempted to find a good 15' to put in the Ultra full time! Clean, Crunch, Ultra; they all sound much better with this cabinet! And it's a different sound than the Delta Blues because of the 6L6 power tubes (versus the DBs EL84s; they're more grainy; I can get a nicer, liquid lead sound through the "Ultra 115"!).

I'm using a variety of guitars with this set-up: Heritage 535; Gibson Les Paul Studio; several Warmoth guitars (strat and tele style with various pickup configurations; mostly DiMarzio's) and a Carvin Bolt-T kit.

Reliability : 10
Peavey gear is reliable, 'nuff said. No problems with is so far. If the speaker blew, I'd probably replace it with another "Blue Marvel" (Eminence made) Peavey speaker...everything else would be a lot more money.

As you can see, I also own the other two Peavey guitar amps mentioned above, plus a TNT bass amp and a KB 100 keyboard/acoustic amp. I've owned a slug of other Peavey amps and PA equipment, and never had problems with any of it. I hear horror stories about Fender (from the STORE THAT SELLS IT!), and even played through a brand-new-out-of-the-box-Fender amp that had something wrong with it. When that happened, the owner of that particular music store said to me, "That's why Fender has to offer a 5 year warranty; Peavey doesn't even need a warranty; the quality's so good." His words, not mine.

I've played guitar for over 30 years. Other gear has already been listed. I would definitely want to replace it if something happened to it; it's become an important piece of gear in my arsenal. I'd like to get another one just because Peavey has currently stopped making 'em. Last thing I'll say is a lot of guitar players don't know what they're missing if they haven't tried playing through 15" speakers!! You don't lose the highs, you actually gain a "smiley eq" shape in your sound. Fifteen inch speakers ADD TONE!!
