This cab is made in the USA and constructed with all ply and no mdf. This cab is like the ada split cab but better. They are slanted like the ada. They are loaded with celestion g12k85 speakers. Each speaker is in it's own chamber old mesa style and they can be setup as half open back like the mesa. It's built like a tank. I just picked up 2 of these as an alternative to a 4x12. Basically I now have a 4x12 that is easier to transport, with all the speakers in individual chambers, how cool is that. The cabs are each wired in stereo. I don't require this as I have 2, easy enough to wire mono in parallel with a single jack.

It's very solid, no rattles. Half open back option mesa style. The speakers that it comes loaded with are better suited for rock and metal. They are like a v30 with less midrange and more focused bass. Alot of high end botique builders use g12k85's.

Late 1980's 2x12 G12K-85 Celestion stereo speaker cabinet. I'm writing this review because I think the reviews for this cabinet don't do it justice. It is stereo/mono, I can use it with my Classic 30 running one speaker or 2x12 with my Twin, and Stereo with a stereo amp. It beefs up the sound of my Twin and Classic 30. So it is pretty versatile, and a lot lighter than a 4x12 cabinet.

It sounds great, these speakers work better for higher gain kind of stuff, but they are also great for clean and Blues. This cab is for beefing up the sounds of combo amps, but I have used it with Marshall Heads and have no complaints. It can handle a lot of volume and does not get rattled.

Playing 25 years. Buy it again or something like it. There is not alot of info about these speakers out there. But in my opinion, I think that thery are great! Maybe wheels would help. Great Value for the money. Compared to alot of other 2x12's, this one is fantastic.

'89 model, 2x12" slanted stereo cabinet. loaded with Celestion G12K-85's, 16ohms each, wired parallel for 8ohm mono use. the bottom speaker is closed back, top speaker has a removable back.
plastic finger cup handles were a joke - i replaced with heavy duty spring loaded recessed steel handles.

i traded in my Peavey 412(black widow) for this more transportable version. the 412 was great for club gigs but the speakers were mushy. this cab is tight and crisp.
the G12K's seem more like a hard rock/metal speaker. i tried my blues and jazz rigs through here and it totally sounded lifeless and forced.
crank up some VH and this baby rocks, though!.

this thing is built like a tank. the wood is heavy and thick, the glue joints are well done. the wiring connections are durable.
bravo peavey!

not sure what about a 212 cab could go wrong requiring me to get it fixed. if i cant fix it myself, i shouldnt own a speaker cab.

this is a great value and nice sounding cab. for the money, having a tight box loaded with heavey duty speakers, this is well worth it.
