The auditon 110 is a really simple and really cheap amp. With a bit of tweaking, it's easy to sounds from the Beatles all the way over to Metallica. Good for a lot of styles..it's simple & well rounded. Has two channels, clean (just a vol. control) and lead (pre & post gain knobs). A footswitch is optional but i didn't get it, so i have to reach down to the button. There is a three band eq, reverb, headphone jack, and another jack for cd's or something that i have never used. The 25 watts are pretty good for bedroom playing, cuz that's the only place i play. I've never played through a tube amp, so i don't know if the Transtube technology is any good.

I use this with a crappy yamaha guitar, & i play mostly Neil Young, Radiohead, and RATM. I can't say that this amp sounds all that bad for most things. One problem i had is that when the amp is flat on the ground, it made kind of a hollow, deep feedback type thing whenever i stopped playing, though it wasn't stoppable like feedback is. Also, something inside rattled when i played certain chords. I fixed this by tilting the amp at a 35 degree angle against the wall. The distortion ain't that bad, i like it when i'm to lazy to hook up all my pedals, and it's pretty good for that. Not too fuckin' brutal, but good enough.

Mine has never left my room, so who knows? I've never busted anything on it and the speaker even held when i played a bass through it with a DOD Grunge pedal. I won't ever try that again though.

I've been playing this with a DOD Fuzz Pedal & an Ibanez wah for a year, and i'm pretty happy with it. I would probably buy it again because it is freakishly inexpensive and sounds decent. I can't really say i wish that it had more stuff, because it was so cheap. Damn good deal for the price.

The Audition 110 is a nice little box that is quite handy for practice and gigs that have an in-house PA. the two channels are great, the clean is pretty nice, the 2nd channel is quite a ride, from country to my fav. metal. The two channels are great for people who are looking for a 50/50 amp combo, not just distortion, not just clean. I have yet to buy the footswitch, which I wish came with the amp, handy for those jams where you don't need to bend down...
The volume is great on clean, in distorion though, I wish the volume might slightly lower and still get an overdrive effect. Good speaker, and an excellent transtube system!
god for those freaks for metal/punk or for those who just need a clean sounding amp!

My Ibanez rx240 SCREAMS on this medium sucker! Great for rock, yet when I need to go clean, it sounds good too. In the distortion channel it can get loud, pretty good for gigs, and the clean channel has a good volume set too. From this amp I have managed to get a quiet distortion, loud heavy metal, great punk sounds, and even country/blues! Clean channel is good too, I crank it up, and it really doesn't distort, unless you have a single coil guitar.
distorion is VERY nice, good for heavy metal.

Reliable. Built like a tank. the only thing is that the back is open, so the wires could be broken, but I put a thin slab of wood to protect it.

I use an Ibanez Rx 240 guitar, and this guitar matches very nicely with this amp. ai really recommend for beginners, and even people who need a good amp for recording. I would buy another if I could! I like the channels, even though distortion is a tad too loud for practice. A foot switch would be nice if included(its 20$)
other than that, buy it!

Adequate features for a low-priced, entry level amp. Clean and dirty channels, reverb, bass, mid, and treble, headphone jack, external speaker jack, CD player input.

8 is an average. In some modes, I'd give it a 9. In others, I'd give it a 7. The clean channel sounds great with my Strat. Gets really twangy on the bridge pickup. The high-gain channel sounds decent for a dirty blues sound, but the amp lacks the ability to put bright texture into distortion -- to be really versatile, ya gotta get a distortion box. I think it gets a little too noisy in metal mode -- I usually keep the pre-gain knob set at 5 or below.

I've had it for a year and no problems. I've been nice to it, though -- no beer spills or starcase tumbles.

If I had to spend no more than $150.00 on an amp, I don't know if you can do any better than this one. I've only been playing guitar for two years, and I wanted to buy a cheap entry level amp and then give myself a long time to listen to a lot of amps and develop an ear for what I want in my next amp, which will probably be a tube amp for a lot more money. From what I have heard so far, I don't think you can do better for the price. The longer I play it, the more it grows on me.

Nice small practice amp. Trans-Tube technology is great for reliablility and sound. Easy to carry in car or station wagon.I

I use DOD effects pedal which goes through the front end as there is no jack in the back to plug into. Somewhat noisy with hiss at low volumes but okay in sound performance mode. I play jazz, easy listening, gospel, and rock. I only use the clean channel and don't rely on distortion at all. For effects I use chorus and echo.I use the recommended country setting as per the Peavey manual.

If you are looking for a good practice amp with not too many features, then this is probably where you need to look. Two channels, clean and dirty, of course. 3-band EQ, reverb, pre and post gain, and a master volume for the clean channel. For a cheap-ass 25 watt solid-state, it isn't too bad.
Sound Quality

It doesn't have the kind of rumble you would like out of a good grunge amp. It has WAY too much background noise when you use the distortion channel in conjunction with an overdrive, and there isn't much variety in the distortion. The clean channel can distort, but you have to have the master at 10. It just doesn't have enough kick, especially when coupled with a strat with gold-sensor pick-ups.

I have dropped it down a flight of stairs, and it didn't damage what little sound it had, so at least it is reliable

I think maybe the one I played was found in a landfill sight cause it is GARBAGE!!! Pure electronic shit. Dirty channel is terrible, I cried when I heard myself play through this amp. The clean challel is better but if I put my patchcord in my dogs mouth and listened to it fart out the notes the sound quality would still be superior to this amp.

It is breaking all the time. I don't own this amp. It belongs to a friend of mine. He is a good guitar player, but I won't play with him because he uses this amp. Everyday this amp gets a little bit worse.

This is the new version with Trans Tube. It has a footswitch for overdrive/clean channels bass/mid/treb controls. Head phone and cd in put jack. It only has one input but does have an external speaker jack which is handy.

It sounds like a good solid state copy of a tube amp (quite an impressive attempt actually). The one quibble I have is that on the distortion (and clean channels) it is hard to get a good treble sound. It seems that the 10" speaker is better for making lower more rich sounds (which is usually a good thing) You can get around this by plugging an external speaker in. Also the clean channel doesn't get quite as loud as the dist channel, though there is little distortion in the the clean channel. The distortion is quite variable to suit almost any style.
