I like the features on this amp. There is two channels, one hard, and one soft. The hard channel, or, in this case, the saturated channel, sounds great. It gives off a warm but hard tone that not only sounds crunchy, but powerful at the same time. Its good for anyone.
Note: Pedals don't come in very well on this amp.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a strat w/ three single coils. I haven't tried my new humbucking guitar on it yet, but with the singles, it sounds great! (I play 80's rock)

She's never broken down.

I've been playing for 4 years now, and I've had all of the equipment. Right now I'm hooked up with a schecter and vox tube/solid amp. This amp is decent, and its worth buying. It sounds great.

This thing is not useful for guitar at all and only moderately so for vocals. The clean channel is about the most useful, if you have an effects processor to run through it, but forget about the onboard knobs and switches. The volume ones are the only ones that make much difference, though the EQ can be modestly tweaked also. Right now, it is being used as a pre-amp for a shitty bass practice amp and it seems to function there best of anything. As for power, it's 20W, so it is in the practice amp range, but there are problems there...

Sound Quality : 1
This is one of the worst sounding amps ever. In 12 years, I never could get the fucking thing to sound good, ever, until I ran a Roland GP-100 into it for a gig because I was forced to. I have used it for vocals on and off, but it is not really loud enough to push those out there, either. This amp sounds muddy and very crappy and it is pointless to attempt to even use it as a practice amp, as the sound will send you into fits, as it is incredibly distracting and note distinction is fairly nil. It does function well as a footstool, though.

Reliability : 10
On this one thing, this amp is king. I have kicked this amp over, thrown it across my lawn a good couple times, dropped it, inadvertently and intentionally sent it down Mr. Stairs, nearly everything I could think of and it still works, time after time, sending that hideously annoying tone out into the world. You can't kill what's stronger than death and this amp is stronger than death.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea, but I have also never heard a Peavey that sounded good with the onboard sounds....

Overall Rating : 2
I have been playing for 15 years and almost quit about a thousand times at first because this amp always sounded like crap, no matter what I did to it. I finally quit playing with the amp at all, just an unelectrified Yamaha Strat-knockoff, which also sent me into fits, as I could never keep it in tune (something with the truss rod in the neck, I think). I cannot think of a worse combination with which to try to learn guitar. I gave up and played bass for a while because of that combination, actually. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this as much of anything, though it could function well as a cheap PA for office functions or something. It is VERY reliable, though.

80's era? sounds like the holy grail of amp tones. play rock and jazz, some blues and classical. 1 ch. with pre and post gains, 3 band eq. push thick and saturation buttons. 2 input, 1 hp, preamp out and ftsw. jacks. 10 inch spk. 20W 4 practice, or sm gigs. I use all it entirely except 4 the 2nd chnl. Solid state never sounded this good! Chorus and reverb it lacks, and 2nd chnl. Bought at Goodguy's Music on Kapahulu in KAIMUKI go there because these guys know their music!!!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a strat through it w/Hss p/u config. It is dead quiet. It does not break a sweat too easily! It makes the most sounds out of any amp I heard so far, up and up with tube amps of any wattage. UNBELIEVABLE! Distortion is great, very musical, like a Marshall's with that cutting edge. It has nice harmonics through my Charvel.
PEAVEY JUST MADE ME A BELIEVER!!!

Reliability : 9
I think through the years this thing has just collected dust and/or was used for practice and small gigs, as I do for practice for now. I wish to get a better amp soon...louder. I am sure it can handle gigs as I have tried practicing with the volume and gain up to 10 with no prob. It works fine and has not broken yet.

Customer Support : 10
NAH, not yet in need of it.

Overall Rating : 10
I played since the 80's and heard and seen a kinds. This one is profound. I sold all my junk and found this jem. It gives me renewed faith and interest in playing again. PEAVEY HAS THE SOUND OF PURE CRYSTAL CLEAN TO THOSE BETTER DISTORTION TONES THAN ANY OTHER AMP COMPANY. I THINK EVERY PEAVEY AMP IS THIS WAY...VERY VERSATILE, IF YOU KNOW THE SOUND YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

Basic features, its simple and gets the job done

Sound Quality : 5
The sound isnt bad for what i gave for it...NOTHING!

Reliability : 10
This amp has to be atleast 20 years old and still sounds the same.

Customer Support : 5
Never had many peavey units.

Overall Rating : 10
Well i got it free and when i first plugged it in it had little to no distortion and had a very thin sound. I hooked it to a sealed cabnet and it gained a little thickness and had some balls under it. After a few weeks i decided to look up the manual on this because there is a button the front that doesnt seem to do anything (saturation) it said in the manual the footswitch bypassed the saturation so then i wondered if the footpedal wasnt plugged in then the saturation was turned of anf it just got stuck in this mode. After messing with the footswitch the amp actualy sounded better, its like the saturation would only work with the footswitch. After pokign around inside the unit ive come to the conclusion that the saturation switch hadnt even been wired to the board. So i ran 2 wires from the posts the footswitch connects to and soldered them to the saturation switch and ide have to say im happy with the sound now.

It actualy has a decent sound now and i dont mind using it. Dont ask me what happened with this amp but after this little "mod" or atleast i call it a mod. It sounds good.

As far as features go, its your standard practice amp...
i would never use this for a gig.
The clean sound is tolerable, even at high volumes, but
the distortion... we'll discuss that later. Its loud
enough for me to get that job done with the styles of
music i play.. i kinda wish it had a limiter built in
maybe even some reverb...

Sound Quality : 4
I use it for all styles. When i play blues the clean sound is
decent enough for me to get my point across. When i try playing
with the distortion i feel as if theres a hornets nest in my
head... its all muddy and crappy... and forget about using the
boost buttons, that just adds to the choas... use a distortion
petal with this amp, save yourself from 45 minutes of tweaking
just to get a semi-normal sound. bottom line, if yr tonedeaf
youll love this amps distortion.

Reliability : 10
its been backed into my my girlfriends bronco...
its been pee'd on by my roommates (owes me 200$ bastard)dog.
surprisingly it still works without any issues.. ive had it
for 4 years now, its what i use when im home when i cant get
to my stack.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them, but i thought i would have to
considering a dog pee'd on it...

Overall Rating : 5
its your basic practice amp. if you need something cheap
for home just to screw around with... you might want to
consider it.. just be warned about the distortion and eq.
it might be more trouble then its worth to get a decent
sound...

This amp is one of what I call, Peavey's only good year for reliability. This is the only Peavey I have seen that has lived through it all without trouble. IT has the following controls: Pre Gain, Post Gain, Saturation button, "Fat" button, Low, mid, and High, plus a bonus headphone jack. It's basically a glorified Backstage 30 with 10 less watts.

Sound Quality : 4
This is still in the era when any practice amp Peavey made sounded like an Ice Cream truck speaker. The non effected signal needs an active pickup to push some gain into it. The saturation is thisk but sacrifices volume (I would never use this amp in a metal band!) and definition, and the fat swich just does the same damn thing the bass boost switch does on your stereo. Every guitar, allbeit your common stratocaster or a 24" scale Jag-Stang with EMG's, sounds weak and defenseless on this amp.

Reliability : 10
At least peavey made one amp made to stand ten years of abuse and keeps on tickin'.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
Overall, this is a good amp for a beginner who has no tonal sense, but if your serious about tone, and need something that can rock, get a Fender or a Boogie.

This small solid-state amp pushes 20W into a single speaker. Single channel amp with "saturation" and "thick" buttons. I never use either saturation or thick settings. I use it solely as a practice amp. It is louder than my previous 20W amp.

Sound Quality : 3
I use it with a strat-style Charvel (three single coil pick-ups). I use it for blues and hard rock (70s-80s) and it sounds ok clean. Forget the saturation and thick settings they sound like junk. At high volume the clean is still moderately clean, however this amp has NO bottom end. You must own signal processors to tolerate this amp (ie. distortion pedal, reverb, etc.)

Reliability : 10
This amp is bulletproof. 'Nuff said.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with Peavey; this amp is bulletproof.

Overall Rating : 5
This is a great beginner practice amp, but the sound is junk. I like it for its reliability, but forget the rest. My Dean Markeley 20W sounded better, but was not as loud. Hey, what can you expect from a 20W amp. Probably it is the same as most little solid-state amps.

As far as fetures go this amp is a little dry. First it has a basic three way EG (low, mid, high) not much more to say about that. Second it has a terrible distortion called saturation that is close to the sound of a cat purring. It also has a cool effect called thick, which give it (as the name says) a thick bluesy sound. It comes equipped with a headphone jack, a pre-amp output, and two imput jacks all of which I think are good options

Sound Quality : 8
Pretty good, thats about all I can say. This amp (for it's size) is definatly loud enough. It is only 20W yet could easely wake the neighbors down the street. I basically play metal and with my Jackson PS-7 plugged in it does the job. The only bad thing I have to say is that it has sort of a dry sound to it.

Reliability : 10
This thing has never let me down! It's been dropped off a chair, knocked over countless times, and over all beaten, and it still playes like it is new! This amp is a work horse and is built to last. As far as backup amps at a gig goes, don't bother, you won't need them.

Customer Support : No Opinion
This thing just won't die so I never had to deal with them in the four years I owned the amp.

Overall Rating : 8
A good amp for the dollar! realiable, built, and good sound make this a good amp to look into. This amp is especially good for the beginner it is easy to use and understand. It never let me down!

As far as features go, it really doesn't have many, just distortion, pre, post, and a three band EQ. If you like all the groovy effects then this is not the amp for you. But, if you like a good solid sound then go ahead and give it a try.

Sound Quality : 8
The distortion on this amp is killer. It reminds me of the DOD Grunge pedal. I've never really tried it for anything other than metal but it does have a pretty good clean sound. I will admit it tends to distort when you crank it but its audible over a 12 piece drum set in you garage.

Reliability : 10
In the 2 1/2 years I've used it, it's always worked. To date it's been dropped out of a truck doing about 40, fell down one flight of stairs, thrown off a stage 5 feet off the ground, and been chewed on by a rather large Doberman. So far it's been great. I'm confident enough to just mic this puppy at a gig. (if you had been there when it fell out of the truck, you'd give it a 10 as well)

Customer Support : No Opinion
When i first bought it, there was a small crackle in the input. In 5 minutes it was just like new.

Overall Rating : 8
If I was to lose it, I think that I would get another just because of how sturdy it is.

very versatile- decent sound thru a 1/4" headphone jack, three basic sounds, despite the single channel- a nice springy clean sound, a warm overdrive, and a nice tubey distortion. no reverb or paramtric EQ, just pre, post, hi, mid, low, and an on/off switch for saturation. 20 watts RMS, despite the amp's name (and where did peavey come up with the numbers in their old amp names?).

Sound Quality : 10
crank the amp a bit, and you get both a dynamic, cleanish sound AND hiwatt-style feedback. add the saturation, which is a simple on/off switch, and it's a lot like adding a stompbox to a hum-free fender champ. at 20W RMS, you can get a great tone in most apartments. completely cranked, it's much louder most old 30W or 40W solid state amps you'll hear. good for any country, blues, or rock style, shy of 80's metal, and thank God for that.

Reliability : 10
made to be THROWN down a flight of stairs without as much as a ding in the tolex.

Customer Support : 10
good folks. 1 year warranty, but you'll never need it with a solid state peavey.

Overall Rating : 10
a great little studio amp- a surprisingly natural, tubey sound, and dirt cheap. i won a new one when they first came out (list was $109, but they were selling for $69-it was an introductory special of some kind), and another one, used, for the same 69 bucks about 2 years back. a former friend sold it for crack, but hey, what can you do?
