THis amp was made somewhere in the 90's mabye late 80's. My dad got it at a garage sale or something just to have around. Never really played on it untill recently. It is a 50 watt 2 channel amp, so 25 watts per channel i guess. Its kinda funky because you get feedback when you turn any of the gain knobs.

The clean is very very clean if set up right, and the distortion would be perfect for someone who wanted a really really fuzzy distortion. It packs a punch tho, if it is set up right.

I have had this thing around for about 6-8 years, and it made it through a move and alll sorts of stuff. Its a tough amp.

Well the real reason i wanted to write this reveiw is to say that last night i plugged a bass into it since we didnt have a bass amp around to gig on, and it made a really really wierd spacy sound on the clean, and a real funky disto. so this thing could be used for fun with a bass and you can get some interesting tones out of the thing

i dont know when this amp was made. just got it from one of my guitar buddies since he wasn't using it(it was in storage) and i know exactly why this amp is really nice and pure for playing at home(quitely)but i was jammin the other day and the feedback was AWFUL,but it just took some minor adjustments to the equilizers and it wasn't that bad i suppose.I have a school talent show coming up and i think i might use my friends amp for the audition instead lol.oh if you ever feel like smashing your guitar just take it out on the amp. i'm told it can take a real BEATING. haha

like i said the clean is good(almost awesome)but the ditortion is worse than listening to rap and rap is friggin bad. if you toggle with the eq though for awhile(like 10-15 min.) you can probably get the tone where you want it.

dont know when it was made but its old! 2 channels, clean is nice but the distortion is frickin awful. if you want distortion get a pedal! equilizer only has 3 settings-bass,mid,high. the bass gets too low and the high will bust your eardrums from all the feedback it puts out.

ive been playing for 6 years or so. this is a great amp for a newbie but anyone that has any talent will need something more. i dont know why but the feedback is absolutely the worst sound ive ever heard. IT IS INTOLERABLE! i have a gibson les paul and a marshall mg100hdfx head with a marshall mg412 slant cabinet now and dont use this amp for more than a night stand. ill probably throw it away as soon as i get a table to set my cups on!!!

it is built like a brick ill give it that. you cant use it at any gigs because the crowd will murder you onstage as soon as you start playing and make their ears bleed from the screeching feedback it puts out. this is a practice or beginner amp only.

I have no clue when this amp was made. I bought it from a pawn shop for a first amp. I've only been playing for about a year and a half so it was alright to start out on. I started playing punk, alternative, a little metal, and it did all right in a dorm room setting; I don't think I would push it past that. It's got two nifty little channels, clean and distortion. Clean is ok, but breaks up past 11 o'clock or so. I never really used the distortion, I used a Boss DS-1 for that. It's got a jack for channel switching in the back. It's got a headphone jack, but mine didn't work. I wouldn't really want any other features, I plan on getting rid of it soon.

I play a stock Squier Strat. It gets quite a bit of feedback with distortion at higher levels, so that sucked.

She sure is reliable. It was all beat up when I bought it and it still plays the same. I'm probably not good enough for a gig yet, so that wouldn't matter.

I've been playing for a year and a half. I plan on getting rid of it soon and trading it in on a Marshall MG-15MS. If it were stolen I would be pissed cause that's all i have for now, but I wouldn't replace it.

well, i got this amp about 2 weeks ago, im not extreamly impressed with it, i mean it plays just fine, if your playing the chilli peppers, nirvana, green day and shit like that in your bedroom at low levils, the distortion does suck so you gonna want your own pedal,
it can have some sweet assed tone! it really can if you set everything up right, its not for shows its a larg amp, but not for shows nor auditions i would think, just for your bedroom next to your bed, thats all its for and it works just fine great tone! (sometimes)

i use this little beauty as practice amp only, obviously, being only bout 15 or 20 watts...i notice that a lot of these reviews vary widely, depending on the type of axe being played through the amps. why would you use it in a real high volume session? get real chaps! its horses for courses. ive had it for 10 years, and always will be my practice amp. never misses a beat, never any trouble. i play a gibson l.p. and its a quality instrument. clean or dirty, my gibbo sounds just great through the peavey and its unbelievable the quality of tone i can muster - if i could only replicate its tone on a larger scale amp - (unlike my now-history JCM 2000 TSL 601, which was shit). ive noticed that any l.p. that ive played through any peavey sounds good - just a matter of pick & choose i guess! i love the little monster, what more can i say.

for a practice tranny amp its compact, reliable, has a sweet, crying distortion tone, a warm clean channel and i love it to bits. my main amps are tube fenders mostly (and one crap marshall) and laney, so i know what a good amp is. if u need a quality amp for practice or small sessions only, id recommend this one.

I've been playing for 12 years, but I just use this thing when making new fiffs and practice at home, 'cause all my real gear is at drummer's house.
I'd never buy it again unless it's about $25. I bought it in the first place because I needed something to play at home.
I wish it didn't have that much feedback.

I have no idea what year this amp was made, but I bought it somewhere around 1990. At that time I played mostly metal and thrash rock kinda stuff, and this thing just didn't cut it. Two channels, clean and distortion... The clean channel is pretty nice, no complaints - but the distortion channel is just awful. I bought it for band rehearsals and practicing, but I wasn't satisfied with it even then.

Like I said, mostly metal and stuff, and this amp just was not cut out for it - not even for rehearsals. Anything beyond about a 11 o'clock setting for the volume, the sound was completely drowned out by incredibly annoying feedback and harmonic interference. Effects pedals just made the unwanted noise that much worse. If you like uncontrollable feedback, this is the amp for you, but if you want others (and yourself) to hear the notes you're playing, keep looking, man, cuz this one is NOT it. With effects pedals such as Metal Zone, Digital Delay and a simple Dunlop wah, the volume can't be turned up beyond about 9 o'clock. Try even rehearsing with that low a level, and you'll be incredibly frustrated.

Ok, as far as reliability goes, this thing is built like a brick, uhh, henhouse. Let me elaborate... our van was driving on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens, NY some time during the summer of '99 (this was about 9 or 10 years after I bought this accursed thing) at about 70 m.p.h. and uh-oh... the doors fly open. My Peavey goes FLYING out the back and flipping and tumbling out all over the road. Good thing this happened about 5 am, after the gig was over and the parkway was basically empty, or it might have caused a fatality... anyway, once we stopped and recovered the amp and surveyed the damage, we were completely awestruck to learn that there really was no damage to speak of. A few scrapes and a nasty dent here and there, but the thing still played as awfully as it did before, heh heh. If you like to dish out the abuse, you couldn't ask for a more willing victim. This thing is sturdy as all hell. I wish my house was built like this.

I'v been playing for a couple decades now... oh man, has it really been that long? I basically use this amp as a doorstop now, because I was forced to perform major surgery on it for spare parts. Personally, I think this is the best use I've ever gotten out of it. Keeps my garage door open REEEEAAAAAAL good. Look, here's the skinny. If you want to ply MUSIC, you don't want this amp. The good people over at Peavey ought to be ashamed of themselves. If you're looking for a 50 watt practice amp, I would suggest a Marshall without hesitation. (Of course, if you're looking for a 50 watt amp, I'd sugggest you go for at least 65, just on general priciples.) Don't make the same mistake I did. Save your cash for some other much-needed supplies, such as strings, booze and gas. Period.

This amp has the simple 3 band eq, distortion clean and thats about it you can adjust the gain for the amount of distortion you want but thats about it. It sounds good with pedals which is always a plus

I play with a strat and it sounds okay, if you turn it up to loud with the channel 2 dist. it get tons of nasty annoying feedback not good. THe 2 channels sound very nice at fairly low levels. The clean get shaky at high volume and it gets a little crappy. The distortion is hardcore when its at a middle volume but when turned up it gets jacked up and turns into feedback

This is devinately a practice amp not for use with a band or gig because it has no ball with an 8" speaker. No awesome effects like reverb, chorus, or vibrato. This is strictly for what the name says auditions.
