I bought this combo a year ago for #175 used I think it about 2 years old. I feel the reverb is not as good as on a Fender Twin which I once had but otherwise is a good all rounder. Stage power is fine as I play mainly bigband jazz.

I use a Ibanez AF75 archtop and a Yamaha Pacifica which works well.
It can get a bit hissy and I don't like the T-Dynamics .

I would consider getting another one but be pusuaded to go back to Fender amps.
I have put heavy duty casters on the base to make it easier to move and use it with a tiltback ampstand and get a much better sound.

bought this a few weeks ago... AMAZING!
I play mostly Punk, and hopefully starting some rockabilly stuff soon (stray cats covers mostly...). Very nice, pulls it all off nice, only I may need some delay for rockabilly... Nevertheless, does everything I need it to, and probably everything I'll ever want. Clean and Lead chanells, both verry nice, only I find the distortion gets muddy easy, but if you are used to the controlls, its simply lurvley. Distortion otherwise is VERY nice, clean is lemony fresh. I play with a punk band, mostly in my friends garage, definitely loud enough to gig. If not, just hook it up to a cabinet, then it goes from 80w to 100w. The only amp most guitar players will ever need.

I play an Aria STG series (strat copy). Not the best guitar, but it works, and don't break. Single coil pickups. I love the sound of humbuckers on here, but the amp does a nice job of giving the SC's some body. Great for almost every genre! If you're not sure if it will work for you, go and try one out! It can get hissy, and lots of feedback when up very loud. But thats much louder than you'd need it. The bottom end muddies up the distortion very easy, I find. The lead can get VERY muddy if the tones arn't set right. Play around though, its really not hard to get great sounds out of this.

4 words: Its a bloody Peavey. I have owned this and a Rage 158 practice. Neither have (or ever will, hehe) broken down. My Rage has been tossed down stairs, dropped 5 feet onto solid concrete, kicked and shoved over and over (I'm sorry, hehe) and it works just as well as the day I bought it. Now this: gives you the tones and fun of a tube amp, but isn't wussy when it comes to bumps and bruises.

Playing for about a year. I own a Peavey 158 rage (best practice amp out there) and an aria STG series. If stolen, I'd go out and buy another in a heartbeat. There are millions of these guys, and every one is worth every penny you pay. If price is taken into account, best amp out there. Period. Lots of volume, tone, distortion, and plain old peavey fun. enough good things cant be said about this amp.

2 channels, 3 great lead presets, clean sounds better on modern. Haven't used the effex loop any. Reverb is kind of weak.

As I said the lead channels are all great, esspecially modern with pre gain at about 5 or 6. One bad thing is the low end. The bass tones are a little too low and you can't get a good solo sound out of it unless its turned up loud. Still a great gig amp.

I couldn't ask for more when it comes to features. A high and low input, 2 voices on the clean channel and a 3 band equaliser, the lead channel has a pre-gain to control distortion and 3 voices (High gain, modern or vintage) and a 3 band eq. The master has built in reverb, a presence control, a resonance switch (very nice) and a t-dynamics knob (which as far as I can tell is just a compressor). The 2 channels are footswitch controlled and there is absolutely no drop out in switching.

I'm using a Gibson Epiphone SG (those red cherry ones) and the clean tone through it sounds fantastic. There is a bit of noise caused when the footswitch is plugged in, but it's nothing major and oddly enough it's silenced when the EFX level switch is pushed in and there's something in the effects send jack. The lead can get kind of noisy at high distortion but, hey, what doesn't? Most of the time I'll plug into the low gain channel because the High gain channel, while in certain circumstances gives better distortion, makes the clean channel a bit muddy. The amp isn't as heavy as I expected and can be transported to gigs. The distortion is killer; the reverb isn't very useful to me because I use the reverb on my pedal and the footswitch controls the effects loop rather than the reverv (unlike the previous models). It can take a bit of fiddling around with to get a nice tone out of it because the presets aren't perfect. The clean cahnnel doesn't break at high volumes either.

Simply a fantastic amp useful for small-medium gigs and waking up neighbours 3 blocks away. I've been playing for less than 2 years but I know what good distortion is when I hear it and I know when clean is clean, and this is it!

2 inputs, 2 Channels, Effect loop, Presence, Reverb, T-Dynamics and a loose/tight speaker setting. 3 band EQ. 80 watts (very loud!!). The channels are footswitchable. Purchased mine new in late 2002 and been using it ever since. I practice and gig with this. The presence and T-Dynamics can have a big effect on your sound, I have presence at about 50% and T-Dynamics low.

I play a Line 6 Variax and go through a Boss SD-1 into the Bandit. I use a Zoom multi effect box in the loop for delays, chorus and flange. Tip: Distortions/compressors and overdrives should always go in front of amps NOT in the loop. I play rock, pop, blues, motown and punk. That's a lot of variety but the combination I use means it's reasonably straightforward. The clean channel on the Bandit is lovely and with the SD-1 I can get all sorts of drive/distortion tones. You can get them using the lead channel instead if you prefer and they sound great but I like to save that channel for leads/solos and I don't like fiddling too much between numbers. There can be some hissing at high volumes but the Variax is cool because it doesn't have pickups so there's no hum! The distortions range from crunch to brutal.

I am guessing the amp was made recently, early 2001 or so, but I really don't care because it is probably the best amp I have ever played on. It gives me the metal distortion I use for all my songs and it aslo has that great, quiet clean song for my ballads. Also it is SOOOOOO LOUD! I wish it had some chorus or delay, but I can worry about that later. I also love how I can switch the tube sound from loose to tight, very nice.

I use a Jackson DXMG with Emg-Hz pickups at both the bridge and neck positions. This amp fits my style of music perfectly with its wide range of distortion, reverb and presence. It is a little noisy, but that can be reduced by tweaking your volume knob on the guitar. The distortion is the best I've ever heard on a an amp such as this and I didn't have to buy any extra pedals for it either.

I have been playing for about 3 or 4 years, can't really remember. I know that sounds a little too short of a time, but I play alot. This amp has everything you will ever need, I can almost promise you, (notice, I said almost). If it was stolen I would buy another in a heartbeat. I love the amp to death and I really don't hate anything about it. I will compare this to the Fender amps with Dyna-touch because Fender really doesn't have that tube sound I am looking for but the Bandit does, Fender just doesn't know what tube sounds like. Also I am 16, if I can afford this, you can too.

Using a les paul custom, jem 7 and wolfgang QT special.I lace a boss GT-6 before it and use the channel switching between clean and lead for a boost in solos. Little noisy but perfect for feedbacks ( a la Santana) adds to the tone of the GT-6. ( i turn off the amp modeling on the gt-6 and only use the overdrive pedals modeling. Great sustain!!!.

this is a post for hobbyists like me. I've been playing for 20 years now and I've used just about every amp, guitar, effects that I can care to remember ( or my wife for that matter, as she's sick and tired of the constant buy/sell/trade for me to be happy). The combo of the GT-6 and the bandit is a match made in heaven. Every possible tone at your feet with a reliable wel built solid amp that matches perfectly with it. My only complaint would be that it would have been nicer if the footswitch controlled reverb and not the effects loop. If I lost it, I would buy it again in a second.

Don't know when it was made. Purchased in 2001. As written above, two channels....2 voices in clean and 3 in lead. 3 Band EQ. Master reverb. You can produce allot of sound out of this amplifier. I'm an ameteur jammer, but I get around. Old, new, rock, blues. Clean is good. Very good. It holds up well at volume. Have to be careful with the bottom end. It's pretty thick and I would imagine could self destruct if you weren't cautious. Pedal provided for switching channels and shutting on/off outboard effects. Effects loop is cool. You can plug directly into it from pedals and bypass the EQ. I have used it live and had no problem keeping up with the other band members higher priced equipment. It's way loud. Feedback is an issue if your in a tight squeeze. I can't say I wish this amp had anything really. I suppose it would be cool if it had a headphone jack. Sometimes it's a pain switching the voicings between numbers.

I use an old Epiphone Shereton hollow body and A Korg processor (mainly for delay). I stick with the basics and let the amp and my playing mock the styles. It works just fine, thank you. There is an occasional noise when in lead that baffles me. It is a random static that comes and goes. I'm not sure if it is the amp or some power fluctuations in the house. In any case, it doesn't cause any problems live, but recording would be an issue. Excellent low end when you want growl; excellent tone transitions for blues bites; great when it's clean. The vintage voicing works well with some tweaking. The T-Dynamics and resonance actually work, all-be-it subtly. I really like it's tone. It transitions well between clean and distortion. At around 6 or 7 on the gain you can get some great dymnamics. Better than any other solid state amp I have ever checked out. The other lead voicings go straight into heavy distortion with a swap of midranges. They are decent enough to use for whatever you might be trying to accomplish. This amp sounds better than my Fender HRD. Way better. I know that isn't saying allot since the stock HRD was a great dissapointment to me, but over-all, this amplifier is pretty badass. Thew clean channel holds up good. Distorts pretty much like any amp at the top. The distortion will get as brutal as you want, I suspect. It really growls.

This amplifier is extremely well built. I am very careful with my stuff, but things happen. I have also read a great deal about it's durability. I have a back-up amplifier, but I would use this without one. It's solid state, man....and a good one. It's never broken down. I'm not on tour, heh heh, so I haven't exactly tested it all that much.

I've been a legend in my living room since I was 12. I have three other amplifiers....the aforementioned Fender, an old Crate, and a very old Alamo tube amp. If this amp were stolen or lost (how do you lose a 50 lb. amplifier?) I would definately buy another. It is a great bargain for what you get and easily as good as any other solid state amplifier and quite a few tube amplifiers as well.

Here's a real versatile amp. Its's a 2002 model, with 2 channels but no effects except for reverb. Solid State 80 watts by itself but can be 100 when hooked up to cab. Effeccts loop, headphone jack, all the usual. This thing can get very very loud. But it can go quiet enough to practice with. I usually play grunge/metal/hard rock and it suits me fine.

You can get a lot of different sounds out of it. The distortion can go from a little dirty to this super-gain sick fuzz. Distortion id best thing about this amp, and its got that "transtube" technology that adds a bunch to it. It has 3 distortion settings, "vintage" for bluesy sorta like overdrive, "modern" which gives this great rectifier sound, and "high gain" which is more loud than good in my opinion. The clean sound is pretty nice. You get to switch between "vintage" and "modern" sounds. they sound very similar but vintage is a little brighter. The clean sound isn't amazing. If you want that get a fender twin or something. But if you want sick amazing distortion this'll work.

-I use an ESP LTD explorer w/ EMGs (81 and 85), DeArmond (S-73 w/ Gibson humbuckers), and a Schecter C-7 7 string.
-I play heavy music (Metallica, Down, Black Label Society, Tool) and some Gov't Mule- I can get all these sounds with this amp
-I have it pluged into a Marshall 1930 2X12 cab (it really helps the low end)- I highly recommend using a cab w/ it (but does sound great w/out it)
-I think the distortion on the amp is better than my Boss Metal Zone pedal
-The amp is very loud with the volume at 1 (I usually only need it at 1/2)
-The amp is a little noisy (it may be due to the cabinet or guitar)
-I traded a brand new Peavey Special 212 in for this set up- Special 212 had many different distortion types except for the one I was looking for
