I got this amp used. It's and older model. Mine has 200 watts unlike what most everybody elses has 80. But all the other features are the same...

Sound Quality : 8
I have a Schecter V-1 with Duncan Design pickups. I play mostly metal and it's good for that, but this amp has a nice warm sound on the clean setting too.

Reliability : 10
Hasn't broken yet

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
To put it simple...I like it. I probably wouldn't buy it again but I would get a Peavey, just cause I want something a little newer

made in 1999 i believe. 2 channels. pretty much what everybody else below put..

Sound Quality : 7
I use a Jackson PS-2, Fender Standard Stratocaster, Epiphone LP and Fender Tele. Suits alot of different styles of music, but i don't like the distortion too much. If you turn down the "T Dynamics" it makes the amp sound really good, but makes it too quiet for gigs.

Reliability : 10
This amp is VERY reliable...i dropped it down a flight of stairs and broke the stairs...the amp was fine. Not even a scratch

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them

Overall Rating : 8
good amp for the clean channel, although i wish it were louder...but still very good for the size...

I have a 1999 Peavey Bandit 112S amp and love it. There is distortion, reverb and tube effects. One feature I wished it had was anheadphone jack. I use the amp only at home and there is plently of power available.

Sound Quality : 9
I play mostly Smash Mouth and my music using a wide selection of settings with my Fender Powerhouse Strat. There is a fair amount of variety available but would like a little more distortion. Great reverb.

Reliability : 10
This amp could be used for the basic gigs without any problems. Should be fairly reliable considering Peavey's track record. Never has given me a problem. It just keeps on working.

Customer Support : 9
Haven't used but heard it's good.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about three years. I also have a Yamaha Keyboard which I play often. I compared this amp to several before deciding to get it and would consider buying again if stolen. This amp was picked for the features and "Transube" circuits. Wished there was a headphone jack present.

I believe it was made in 1999. It is very versatile, you can get every style of music, except maybe extremely heavy metal, but I'm sure you could get that without any pedals with the right guitars, pickups, tunings. It has a clean and lead channel, with switchable channels and switchable effects loop (footswitch included). It doesn't have a headphone jack.
on front:high gain input, low gain input (low gain is 6 dB quieter than high gain input, output levels are same when both inputs are used) On the clean channel there is volume, bright switch, channel button (leave pressed in when using footswitch), low, mid, high, then on lead channel: pre-gain, thrash (takes out 20 dB's of mids), gain (adds overall gain), low, mid, high, post gain, then for the whole amp, reverb, efx loop send and return, EFX. Level button, resonance switch (fine-tunes low frequency), presence (can boost high frequency's up to 6 dB), T. Dynamics Control (adjusts power level from 10-100%, when on low settings, power compression simulation is more pronounced.)
On back: ground switch, line cord, external speaker jack (needs to go to external cab of minimum of 8 ohms), remote footswitch jack, power amp input, preamp out.
The amp has 80W, 100W with external cab (50Wx50W). It is solid state, but sounds really, really good. It uses Transtube technology which makes the amp sound and react like a tube amp, which it does very well. It is very loud, I've never had the volume on the lead channel past 1 1/4. Oh and by the way, the 112S, means 1 12" Sheffield speakers. I love the Sheffield.

Sound Quality : 9
I am using an Epiphone Les Paul Special II straight into the amp, no fx. I play heavy rock, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, other stuff like Nirvana also, etc. It is perfect for my style, or any. I can get the Randy Rhoads sound. It isn't that noisy on the lead channel unless you have the gain button pressed in. The clean channel is great. The reverb is awesome, plain and simple! The distortion is pretty good, it is by no means a Dual or Triple Rectifier, but it is still very good.

Reliability : 9
The thing is very strong. I'd gig without a backup without think twice. It never broke down, but if it gets bumped while on, the reverb and the preamp make quite a noise. I did this once and it made a loud noise and I was scared, but I turned it off, waited and turned it back on, no problem. Because of this I'll give it a 9.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them and maybe never will. They seem like really great people though.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for over a year now. I'd maybe buy a smaller version, the 80 watts is more than what I need. I love its versatility and reverb. With the reverb all the way up, it gets a dungeon like sound that I love to use with the harmonic minor scale. I compared it too the Marshall VS65R and almost went with the Marshall. But after playing this, I knew this was the one, plus it is better at the tube replication than the Marshall and way more flexible. The Marshall's reverb wasn't as good, and the Peavey's sound was more dynamic and didn't sound as dull.
I'm confident I could use this in a small to medium size gig. If you are thinking about getting an amp in the $300-$400 range, this is for you.

I think you can read it in the previous 16 reviews

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Parker NFPV2, so the clean tone is really thick, and I can easily achive that massive tone I like. If you play thru the hi-gain input, it gets slightly distorted which is nice, I think. Lo-gain input is warmer and more jazz-sounding. I play alternative, and I never had a problem with dialing in a good clean tone, in the studio It us even preferable Bandit to Marshall JMP directed into the desk. If you keep the T Dynamics low, the amp sounds definitely more tube-like, so stick to it. If you plug a BOSS Dist pedal, it really screams.
Bottom line: MASSIVE clean tone.
Distortion is real good, it really slams, no matter what you play. My band's first demo was exclusively Bandit domain - and not a single regret. This is a dependable amp.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable

Customer Support : 9
I got in touch with them once, and that's true - they treat everyone equally. thank you.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been using Bandit for 2 years. NOT A SINGLE REGRET. My next amp will be a PEAVEY.
I see one drawback - a gap in the sound when you switch the channels, and it would be really really cool to add a gain switch on the footswitch.
for those 500 bucks you can't buy a better amp. it sounds much better than Marshall VS100 or whichever Crate or Carlsbro or solidstate quasi-Fender piece of you know what.

This amps clean is o.k. the distortion sucks (after you play a Danelectro Fabtone through it) and the speaker goes eeeeeeeeee
when it's up loud and you're palm muting. With a cabinet it's good.
Not that loud.

it's o.k. I recomend it if you've been playing a couple of years and you just want to screw around w/ it. I don't recomend it for shows

I bought this amp right when it came out about 2 years ago and it gets played at least 2 hours almost everyday and I never had a problem with it yet. Im sure everyone knows about the features if not go play it at the guitar store and see for yourself.

Sound Quality : 10
Some people say it hisses and distorts to much and it can, but what I found single coil pickups tend to make it distort rather than double humbuckers. And if your at least 7 or 8 feet away from the amp it does not feedback on me. The sound wise is awesome. clean channel has a nice bluesy sound, and lead channel is heavy when you want it to be.
I usually run several fender strats and a few ibanez guitars into the amp, and I use a little boss eq pedal in the effects loop to notch out some sweet tones. If you play with the T. Dynamics knob depending on the your venue it can sound like a tube amp. Its fun to play with the amp. And some people say the amp is not loud enough but shit when Im gigging It does not have to be loud because its always miked up and going through the house p.a.

Reliability : 10
one of the prongs broke on the plug but other then that no probs at all. It has been around the country and taken some beatings and got beered spilled in it, and it never fails it always works.

Customer Support : 10
Peavey is a awesome company. They treat everyone the same. They dont care if your EVH or a teenager you still get the same support

Overall Rating : 10
I think this is a great solid state amp. Its probably the closest you can get to a tube amp and its nearly half the price. I usually use my bandit for clean sounds and for distorted I use a mesa stack but my guitar rig would always have a bandit in it when im gigging. Its a great work horse amp.

This is a peavy transtube series amp that puts out 80 watts and 20 more into an external speaker. It has 2 cannels clean and distortion and come with a nice foot switch.I has pre amp out and power amp in.
This is a solid state amp but this thing sounds pretty close to a nice tube amp

Sound Quality : 10
I play a squier stagemaster HSS and i almost always play through my humucker. This is my second amp besides a little 15 watt practice amp and its worth all you pay for it and more. I play mostly nirvana and greenday and this amp will nail the greenday sound perfect. The distortion is perfect and the clean chanell sounds just like a marshall tube amp. I recently added the 112sx extension cabinet and for me it was like the amp just doubled if i could make one recomendation it is to add the cabinet its well worth the money. The one thing i can complain about it is that it is capable of giving some wicked feedback at high volums but i should probably replace my humbucker. When i practice with my Band my drummer has to yell at me the turn the fuckin thing down this amp screams. GET OUT AND BUT THE FUCKER.

Reliability : 10
I,ve gigged with this amp probably 15 or more times and never had any problems and it comes with a 1 year warranty i doubt ill need it. And it is peavy isn't it? The only thing is this amp get really hot when you play for long periods of time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Ive never dealt with them but my bassist had his amp break down and warranty cover it and hes never had problems with it again.

Overall Rating : 10
If your looking for a great amp and you cant afford a Marshall tube I suggest you get this amp.

This is Peaveys transtube series. It has 2 channels, one thats clean and a lead channel. It pumps out 80watts and 20 more watts into an extension speaker. Solid state, but gives tubes a run for the money but without the high price tag. About the only thing this amp might be missing feature wise is a headphone jack,oh well! Comes with pedal for easy channel switching.

Sound Quality : 9
I play through it using a roadhouse strat and a washburn with eliminator pickups. I usually play lots of cheesy heavy metal and glam rock from the eighties. Yes I still think Twisted Sister,Ratt,Quiet Riot and the Scorpions are still pretty cool. And when I start thinking maybe I should grow up some, the amp also has a good sound for the Rolling Stones,Beatles,CCR,and the other bands we attempt to relate with. The clean channel can be cranked up without distorting. The distortion is very versitile from Metallica to the blues. The only thing that seems to be bothersome is sometimes I get a low humming sound when the t-dynamics are turned up too much.

Reliability : 8
Very reliable, this is the 2nd bandit I've owned. Solid state so its not quite as venerable as tubes.I pretty much play in garages and basements along with other musicians in my area. None of us are famous but we all swear Spinal Tap did a biography on us.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had one brake.

I've been playing for twelve years. I must suffer from Gear aquistion Syndrome from the looks of my bedroom. I had my last bandit stolen along with my furniture. Thankyou mom for reminding to pay my renters insurance premium. Next time, I promise to listen!!!! I have a complaint, the bandit is heavey. That thing weighs about 50 lbs., I only weigh about 150 on a rainy day so I'm gonna have to quit smoking so much! I choose the bandit after trying out a dozen amps at least. Fender has a nice clean channel but your distortion, well its embarrassing, thats putting it nicely. Crate is pretty good, alot of useless buzzing noises though, not versitile enough sound wise. Marshall solid states just dont compare to their tube amps which are nice but expensive, solid states dont have enough bottom end. Back to Fender, Good god, please go back and work on your solid state distortion, please your an American company for gosh sakes!!! Please if your out there looking for a combo amp please dont buy what you think is cool or buy it because some other musician plays it, you'll only suffer in the long run. Go to the store, use a guitar similar to yours and play through it. If they wont let you test it there, dont buy it! Dont be embarressed, crank it up a bit, see if you like it's sound. Good luck, play what you want and be true to yourself.
