This amp is awesome. Has 2 channels. It is 80 watts and loud. It has gain and thrash for the 90s sound, a presence control which enhances the overall sound and a unique T-Dynamics control that you can adjust the power output of amp. The only negative about this amp is not having any channel light indicators.

I bought this based on the reviews of this amp. I played this amp next to my old peavey mace tube amp from the 70s and could not believe how close the bandit actually sounds like the tube amp. The clean channel sounds great and the distortion is great and the gain adds some more sustain and more mid. The thrash gives the 90s crunch sound. I use the effects loop to pull in my rockman 12 band eq and my peavey profex ii effects with the ability to bypass with the footswitch. I also use my rockman sustainor on the clean channel with an awesome sound.

Peavey amps are just built great. If this amp holds like my old mace then it will go on forever. It is heavy but from what I read in an old peavey article it is because of how they made the cabinet and the speaker used.

I would recommend this amp very highly. If you are looking for a tube amp sound check this one out before paying alot more for a tube. I have been playing for over twenty years with my old mace tube amp but now I am only playing this one because it can do more than my old tube with the sound and features.

This is a great amp!! This is nothing like the garbage Bandits that Peavey produced in the 1980's! This Peavey Bandit was built sometime in the 90's. Has 2 channels (surprise, surprise). It is rated at 80 watts RMS. In addition to the usual buttons and knobs it has distortion options of gain or thrash, a unique T-Dynamics control (to give it a more tube like response), and a resonnace switch (which I guess adds a little bit of bass and sort of compresses the sound a little (I think ???). The only negative about this amp is that it is HEAVY...I assume that it's heavy because of the Sheffield speaker (Peavey's version of a Celestion), and the fact that the amp is solidly built...In short..real heavy... no problem...it's worth it!

The sound of the clean channel is incredibly warm (unlike the old Bandits). It really does sound very tube like. The T Dynamics knob does an okay job of making it respond like a tube amp...but as far as resposiveness it still is not the real thing. This amp has a ton of tonal flexibility. The options of gain or thrash for distortion give one the ability to dial in anything from a fender/mesa-boogie buttery distortion to a Marshall crunch. While it is not a perfect match to a tube amp I'm giving it a 10 because of the tonal flexibility and ease of use.

This is not your father's Peavey Bandit!! This amp is incredible. The warmth of the clean channel blows me away, and the tube like tones of the distortion channel are awesome. This amp is extremely user friendly and it takes very little effort to get great sounds out of it. I've owned Fenders, Marshalls, Acoustics, Yamaha's and I got to admit that for overall tone, functionality, and flexibility this is my favorite amp (Okay well my early 1970's Plexi kicks the Bandit's butt sonically...but do you think you can get an original Plexi for $200...not to mention a Plexi that also produces clean tones(?!?!?). For 200 bucks used these amps are a steal. In all fairness it doesn't sound exactly like a tube amp, but then again there's no EL34's or 6L6's to blow, so the less than exact tube tone is more than worth the trade off. I highly recommend that you get your hands on one of these little beasts before sellers get smart and start jacking up the price of these amps.

Made in 97 or 98. Very versatile amp for solid state.
Great clean channel and a nice wet sounding reverb.
The lead channel is nice as well with 3 options.
Good modern thrash tone. I use an eq pedal with the effects loop.
Resonance, presence and T Dynamics controls rounds it out nicely.

Great clean and crunch from this little beast. This transtube amp sounds better than the "one tube pre amp " amps that I've tried. Seriously impressed with the tone from this amp and the price I paid.
The resonance button engaged and the T Dynamics knob at 100% give it a nice thick low end punch.
Plugged it in a 412(vintage 30s)and it was truly beautiful!

Peavey has never failed me and great customer support as well.
I bought this amp from the classifieds and it was crackling bad. I told the guy it would need repair and would he take $60 for it? He said yes and I took it home and shot contact cleaner through all the pots and viola!
Great sounding and LOUD amp for $60!!!

I just have a Les Paul Standard('88) and that's all I play at the moment. I would track down another to run in stereo. They are very cheap to begin with. I have an Ultra tube Peavey head as well and have owned the Classic 50 and 5150 heads. The Bandit 112 is a great little amp especially these late '90s transtube versions. Glad I discovered upon it.

From 1995-1999. Very versatile, I prefer it for rock & blues.
Two channels, but on the overdriven one you can have more versalitily because you can choose gain or trash or both. T-Dynamics is great.
I play on a Rock band, from Clapton tones to ACDC. It suits well on it.

I use two guitars: a Fender Squier (with DiMarzio class of 55' on the neck and a Lace Sensor Hot Gold on the bridge) and an Ibanez RG550.
With the normal chanel you can find the cleanest sound with the Fender, is it excellent, the same "woman tone" of Eric Clapton.
On the overdriven chanel, with the Fender, without Gain, with trash, with a 7 on Pre Gain, and low frecuency, you get a greeeeat, fantastic overdrive. If you want more power, with the Ibanez push the gain and more high and you get a good distortion.
The best: the clean channel sounds FANTASTIC even with too much volume. That's why I will give a 10.

Carvin SC90 with M22SD in the bridge, C22N in the neck. This post is for all you kids looking, playing, and searching for that kiler tube sound. I've been playing plenty long enough to know what sound I'm after. I never realised just how good the Bandit was until I bought a new JSX. Sure the JSX is better but for $1200 you'd be better off getting a 112 cab for the Bandit and cranking that for a while. Thrash and gain out, pre at 7-8 ,AC/DC or some cool blues tones, guitar at 10 or rolled back. For some heavy tone Thrash and gain both in, but DON'T run pre more than 7, plenty of gain less noise.

I believe it was made in 1997/98. Over the years, it has satisfied the styles of punk, rock, melodic. I feel it lacks the drive needed for hard/heavy rock. It has 2 channels, and as noted previously, the slight delay when switching is a problem. I wish that it had 2 O.D. channels.

I use an Ibanez AX320h, this is a double cutaway, twin humbucker, set-neck style of guitar, which was supposedly the top of the AX line in 1999, but korean made says it all. This guitar plays rock, and clean with ease. The amp can make whatever sort of sounds you put through it, thats the point...

High gain/modern/vintage voicing switch on Lead channel
Resonance switch
Footswitch included
The T Dynamics feature is killer. Hard to explain but it gives you 'more' when you need it, 'less' when you don't. Between the presence, resonance and T Dynamics switches, you really have a ton of control. Plus it will run a 4 x 12 cab! Who can ask for more?

I pay a Strat, PRS, and Ibanez through this amp and each guitar sounds beautiful. Transtube is THE CLOSEST thing you can to tubes in a solid state amp PERIOD. Both the clean channel and gain channel sound great, plus with the 'Modern', 'Vintage', and eq, you can really dial in YOUR sound. The sound only gets better as you turn the amp up.
Now the downside is the footswitch...When switching from clean to gain there's a slight delay. Playing at home it's no bother, but if you're playing gigs with this you'd better get a good distortion pedal.

I use two very different strats and a Les Paul with this amp and most everything sounds good. I play a variety of styles,(60s rock and blues to hybrid rock and metal)It's a very quiet amp. Lots of gain and not a lot of fuzz and works great with distortion or fuzz boxes or wah-wahs. Clean channel is awesome as well. The EQ on this amp actually changes the sounds a lot. The resonance switch makes it sound like a cabinet. The T-Dynamics control is interesting and hard to describe. It can add that extra little something or back things off a bit if needed. As close to tube gain as you will find in a solid state amp. Could use a touch more gain on the pre gain as the gain boost is a touch hissy. The bass response is very heavy. If you are tired of thin sounding combos, this amp is for you.

I bought this amp used in '98. It had been owned for two days after which the father of the kid who bought it brought it back. Too loud! (For him maybe.) I payed $160 for it and traded in a Fender Princeton 112 for it. What a bargain! This amp is a monster. Louder than loud, durable and with a sweet sound. One negative; lift with care, it's really heavy for a single 12 combo. Turn it up and close your eyes and you don't know how big this amp is. This is the amp Marshall snobs should hear and fear. Needs some of the built in effects that so many amps have these days, but with the effects loops it has, you can remedy this. The Sheffield speaker is very big sounding for a single 12 and this '98 model looks real classy in silver and black the old Peavey logo. Good for almost any style of music save metal. This amp is a far cry from the old Bandits of the 80's and even the early 90's. I take real good care of this one as I want it to last.

I play in a cover band that go from Blues to Hard Rock, don't play metal (but I DO LIKE Metal!!), in the likes of outfield, Police, Bar?o Vermelho, eho it's a Hard Rock Band here in Brasil, a sort of a lighter AC/DC), Frampton, Purple and so on.
Playing now trough a late 80 Ibanez RG 750 with Duncan pickups (Distortion on the Bridge, 59 ond the neck and a Custom Custom single coil on the middle), a Fender Strato American Standar, a Jackson JDR Plus with EMG 81s and a Gibson LP Custom Wine (my baby!!!)
My signal is:
Cry Baby GCB 95 - Marshall Drive Master - Boss Blues Driver (what a GREAT pedal, try it!!!) - SansAmp TRI-AC - Boss Volume.
On the effects loop goes a DOD Flanger - DOD Chorus - BOSS DD3 Digital Delay.
Man, let me tell you, this baby has it all!!! With that gear i can sound like anyone. It can goes softer, cleaner, warmer, jazzier, heavier, insane, crazier, you name it!!! I'm absolutely nuts with the transtube tech, I mean, hey, that's sound very very very like a tube, ok, the growl isn't the same, but it really cool, and, in a live situation, your audience will NOT see the difference. I know how tubes like, I do have some tube gear (Triaxis Preamp with a 50/50 and 4 1x12' Boogie cabinets, 2 with EVM 200w and 2 with Celestions 80w). Hey, i'm NOT trying to say here that the Peavey sound better thant my Boogies, I'm trying to say here that the Bandit has its guts!! I like the clean channel a lot, it's warmer, not mettalic one and the lead channel goes from SRV to Purple to Brit Rock to Metallica in a breeze!!!.
But One thing I have to say: Plug in another cabinet, with the extension this thing really grow. I mean, this baby is really ok alone, but with the cab it SHINES!!!!

Jay Turser Les Paul (don't laugh. For 200 bucks it's decent) and a mexican Fender strat. Hard rock and classic rock. It 's quiet except when the distortion is way up with the gain boost on. I tried to find another one but I couldn't so I bought the Bandit cuz it's the same amp (almost) with just two channels and not as many features. The Revolution sounds better to me but this amp is a good substitute for rehearsals. I never gigged with it. I'd buy another one of these transtube Bandits. Transtube comes close to real tube sound.

Hell, it weighs almost like a monster tube amp. I heard about that reverb noise when moved earlier, and I've experienced that, but when playing a tripped out version of Hendrix's Third Stone From The Sun, I'll even kick it to get that reverb scream, so even it's downsides turn out to be upsides.

This amp is definetley versatile enough for me to play a range from heavey rock to light jazz. There are two channels, clean and lead, both with individual 3 band EQs and volume controls. There are reverb, resonance, presence and t. dynamics controls for the two channels together. A switch on the lead channel allows three different overdrive sounds - vintage, modern and high gain. Unfortunately there is no way to remotley switch from one setting to the other for soloing etc. The clean channel also has different sounds simulated - vintage and modern.
A remote footswitch is included for channel switching. The only thing missing really is a headphone jack, but why deprive the world of your talents?
One more channel would have been nice for going that extra bit further for solos etc, but for #280 you cant really complain.
The amp has one 12" speaker and at 80watts is more than loud enough. I did a gig at a medium sized hall and the volume on my amp never went above 6 so its has plenty for medium sized gigs. This is of course a solid state amp, but it definetley produces a great sound and it wont cost an arm and a leg to buy either.

:

One the lead channel, vintage is the sound i use most often, as it simulates the classic tube amp overdrive sound. The modern setting is great for more modern, heavy sounding overdrive. I have found that I never use the high gain channel at all - it produces an extremely distorted sound, that, in my opinion isnt pleasing at all to the ear. It doesnt have enough crunch or bass to it and also I get a lot of feedback when on this setting.
On the clean channel the modern sound is more mellow, whilst the vintage sound has more bite to it and is sharper.

What I like about this amp is that it does what I want and does it well, and doesnt try to be anything more like some of the new amps with built in digital effects.
It obviously has its flaws (read the review), but overall its a good amp.

I bought this amp 2nd and and do not know when it was made. I play metal, nu-metal n hard rock and i was amazed when i first turned it on and heard the rumble of one of the deepest distortions ive ever heard.it has 2 channels, with footswitch, effects loop and unfortunately is missing a headphone jack. Playing in a band with an acoustic drumset in a small room wont ever sound right unless you have enough power on your amp and out of the 80w this amp provides i find that its more than enough, maybe if you play on stage you might need an extension cabinet so your sound gets spread better.

I have a washburn cs780 and a gt-3 and have to say that the distortion on this thing is nearly better than the one on the effects board, for metal or nu-metal this is the right amp. a bit of noise when you crank it up alot. the clean channel stays clean all the way which i find amazing as you can play some clean intros at really high volume for an 80w amp. and as ive already said the distortion of this thing rocks.

All I have to say is wow. Before you old tube playing guys say that I'm fucked consider this, who has $1000+ to spend on an amp and is as picky as most of you old fuckers. I used to be the biggest peavey hatter out there, I would fucking laugh at people when they said they had a peavey. I tried a bunch of the old peavey amps, tube and solid state. The solid state amps were the biggest pieces of shit on the planet, a 15 watt fender was 20 times better. But this new line is fucking amasing, I was totally blown away. First the clean, I was exspecting a normal, average, slitely metallic fender type clean, but I was wrong, it is a less metalic, more lightly bass orented clean. But I mean in a good way. It is totally what I was looking for in a clean sound. I like all the different switches on the amp, because it allows you to customise your sound alot more than most other amps. The lead channel fucking amased me. I was exspecting a shitty harsh bullshit, no gain distortion, but i was totally wrong. On modern it is one of the heaveyist, deepest most saturated distrrotions, that I has ever played. I have played a mesa single recto and I can honestly say that this thing is not that far off in the gain department. Don't buy this thing thinking you are going to get a rectofier, buy it thinking that you are going to get an amasing clean channel, lots of sound options,(more than almost any other amp I have seen in its range) and a fucking insane ear grinding nu-metal distortion.

I got it at steve's music in toronto. I went on a search for a new 100 watt amp, with 2-3 channels, in the under $700 canadian price range, that had enough distortion and options, and this was the best one I found. I tried everything, you name it crate, randall, marshall, trace and elliot ...... This amp had most options, came with a footswitch and more importantly had the most brutal distortion that I had ever heard on a non-tube amp. The only thing I wish this had was foot switchable effects loop, but an amp can't be perfect. If you like this, but need the switchable effects loop than check out the step-up amp from this, the peavey revolution 112, which is basiclly the same, but with the switchable loop and one more channel. The reason I got this one instead of the revolution 112 is because the bandit is 575 + tax, but the revolution is like 700 + tax.

2001 peavy bandit 112 assembled by a small Korean boy I would assume. It's got 2 channels, clean and lead. The clean is ok at best nothing to brag about, sorta middy. The distortion is really good on the modern, high gain, and vintage settings. I only use the modern for my rythem parts, it's the thickest tone. The high gain is cool for solos and maybe some leads but I get too much feedback. it can be used like a head which boosts the output form 80 to 100 watts. It's a really good amp for a guy like me who plays punk rock and just needs something to get over a drummer. I play punk, ska, metal, hardcore, and some heavyrock. This solid state amp is pretty rocking. If you could switch this amp via foot switch from vintage to modern to high gain it would get a perfect 10. the resonance switch rocks.

I use an epiphone les paul with a seymour dunacan invader and an Ibanez RG 320dx with a duncan buck shot. on my settings (modern, B7,M7,T8,pregain 7, post gain 1-4, preseance 7-8, t.d.75-80, r loose) my les paul gets a nice clear but heavy drive. very brutal but crisp. My Ibanez gets the best crunch and rythem i could ask for outtah this amp. just awesome. my clean settings always change... i wonder if it effects the lead? the clean channel breaks up horibly.

The modern / vintage switches really do a nice job once you find the right volume settings. I used one without and with extra cabinet. Without it it is nicely portable, with it the sound rates among the best I've heard.

I am not into very heavily distorted sounds, I like my guitar ringing, quacking, singing, not buzzing. I have used it with a '61 Hofner (my favourite, for those who don't know it: ES-like) with Seymour Duncans, a strat and a LP-type guitar. With each guitar I took a while (a little longer than with most amps) to get what I liked, but it was worth the effort. The amp "respected" all 3 types. I am wondering what it will do with a "acoustic-like" modern guitar.

There are two places where I use them. One is at a rehearsal room where the amp is used at least 6 hours a day 7 days a week. The other is at a bar with live music 6 days a week. Both have the amp a few months now (to short for a 10). No problems yet.

I bought my 2nd hand Vox AC 30 TB in '74. The Bandit comes in second (which is high praise, I have used many many many amps).
It is a very transportable, guitar respecting, good sounding amp.
My TB will die within years. I am seriously considering buying one.
Within 3 times the price I know amps with more possibilities, but not more to my liking.

My Transtube Bandit was made in August 2001 and was purchased new for $360.00. The amp has very clear controls and voicing switches for the clean and lead (distortion) channels, vintage and modern for the clean channel and high gain, modern and vintage for the distortion channel. I have used this amp for sessions and live playing. Does the job quite well.

I use a variety of guitars in my work, but mostly utilize a Fender Strat (maple neck, Seymour Duncan pickups, Sperzel tuners), Peavey Wolfgang (for humbucking rock tones and wang bar), Gibson ES-335 and a Les Paul Standard.
I have to be able to produce singing solos, to shred distortion to anything else that may come up. While this is not the only amp I use (Tech 21 and Mesa Boogie are my other work horses), it *is* an extremely versatile, good-sounding amp. The voicing switches on the channels are not gimmicky and are quite effective in emulating various tube tones. The modern voicing on the distortion channel does a fine job of emulating a "scooped" Boogie marks series amp cranked.
For a new amp obtained for under $400 it really is hard to beat. I use it in professional settings and it does very well.

20001 Bandit. Two channel solid state Transtube amp. The clean channel has a Vintage and Modern voicing which offer plenty of versatility and tones. The clean on this amp is amazing! The Lead channel has three voicings, high gain, modern, and vintage, and all three are very nice and offer plenty of variety. The reverb on this amp is very nice. The amp has a resonance switch - tight & loose which add a lot also...amazing! The amp also has a T-dynamics nob to change the dynamic character of the amp, it acts like tube compression. The cab is open back and the speaker is quite nice. The amp is decent size for a 112 but fairly light - 43 lbs I believe.

I am using a Dean Evo with 11's and I am getting great tones. I went back and forth between this and a Marshall AVT which is also nice but this amp won me over. I can't get over how good the clean channel is on this amp! It was one of the deciding factors over the AVT. While I liked the AVT's distortion, I found I only liked the amp with the scoop switch engaged...but with the Bandit I can get some great tones for metal to blues. The blues tones on the Vintage voicing with my neck pickup is great. And the rock and metal tones available from the super thick and high channels are great. It just sounds so articulate and defined. I am amazed at how good this amp sounds when playing lead....it just blew my socks off. For the first time I actually enjoyed playing lead through a solid state amp. That alone was worth the price of admition. Another thing that won me over is the power....I had the AVT150 combo (100 watts) but this amp cranks..I can't get it over post gain 4 and since it is open back, you can't escape the sound which is nice when playing without a PA. I do however think that the Peavy 112sx closed back extension cab will make this one heck of a tone package. I can't wait to get one. The T-dynamics make a big difference...it really tightens up as you lower the T-D's and the Resonance switch is also helpfull...really changes the feel and tone. It really does sound great. Retains clarity when cranked and again the power is there.

This did not sound anything like a tube amp. Nor like a good transistor amp.
Its fun for plugging in little radio shack speakers and cranking the volume all the way up. if you're lucky you might get a light show!
Buy a real tube amp, even a used '74 ampeg V4 will sound better.
3 times as heavy though :-)

2001 Redline Peavey Bandit, more versitile than any amp I've ever owned. Only a modelling amp would have more features. Amp has two channels with channel switching footjack which also switches effects loop off and on. No headphone jack. It has everything I need. I'm using every feature on it and still learning them! I use the amp at home, will jam with it, record and gig. More power than I'll ever need. The amp has a Sherfield speaker in and is solid state with tube emulating technology known as Transtube. The manual is one of the best written and informative I've ever seen. I actually learned how to use the effects loop on an amp correctly from this manual. Which is an important point or your effects will suck the tone out of the amp. Hook cable from send to effects input then a cable from the output on effects box to effects return on the amp. You can turn the effects off and on with the footswitch and there is a button on the back of the amp that controls the effects level. I run mine pushed in for maximum effects level.

I'm using an Epiphone Casino which has two single coil pickup and when used together become humbucking. I play mainly old rock music but play blues, country, some disco and heavy metal including Hendrix and AC/DC. This amp truly does it all. Amp is very quiet. There is an amp power control so you can turn the amps power down to play at bedroom volume or at gigs to 100 watts of power through an extended cab if you use that feature. The amp has a vintage/modern switch that actually changes the tone of the amp. It has three gain selections on a switch on the second channel, including high gain. Why would anyone need any more heavy metal distortion or gain? Wow! The amp is clean like a fender with good pronounced bass tone, especially on the modern and loose speaker option. The amp does have a switch that change the speaker tone from tight to loose--like an old tube amp. Amp stays clean. The manual tells you how to set the channels for the cleanest sound, for blues, for dirty blues, metal, distortion, high gain. I like using my Digitech RP 100 throught the effects loop and switching between channels that way I can get a clean Blackface tone on channel one and a metal sounding blackface on channel two. Again, wow! The distortion will go over the top in my opinion.

Been playing 25 years and have owned too much to list. Currently own an Epiphone Casino, Sears box guitar, Applause box guitar, Digitech RP 100, old Japanese electric guitar, Rogue A/E 300 guitar, Morley alligator volume pedal and two Fender Champ amps from the 70's. If it were stolen I'd have to wait a while to replace but I would buy it again. I love all of the extra features, the big speaker, the excellent tone. After breaking in the speaker good it really does come very close to a tube--close enough for me and the gain channel is better than most tube amps. I sold a one year old Delta Blues 210 to buy this amp. Does that tell you something. No, I'm not crazy, the amp is just that good. I compared it to Marshalls and Fender, especially the Fender Deluxe 90. There was no real comparison. The Peavey stood out as superior. I chose this one because of it's reputation, good ratings, which it deserves, and it wonderful clean and metal sounds. It's beautiful looks are worth mention as well. The effects loop system on this amp really have me excited. I've owned lots of great amps and overall I can truly say this is the one. No, it doesn't sound as good as my Champs run in stereo, but factoring everything else in together with it's very close to tube sound it's the winner in it's price range hands down. I guess an earphone jack would come in handy but I can use the earphone jack on my Digitech RP 100 for that. I'd like to say that after extensive study and research I settled on this amp. If you buy one be sure to break the speaker in good before making a judgement on it and read the owner's manual. Learn everything about it and you will appreciate this amp. If you are buying in the $400 range, cheaper or higher depending on location, you can't do better than the Redline Bandit. Don't settle for cheap tube amp with far less features. This amp is an Ace in the hole!

i've had it for about 2 years now and i have a bunch of gear but the main things that come in handy effects wise is my vox wah-pedal, and my digitech processor. but depending on the kind of music you play you might not even need a pedal. if i had it stolen i would most likely buy the amp again. my favorite thing about this amp is the footswitch that comes with it cause it turns it from clean to lead obviously but then it has an effects button to and that shuts off any other effects you might have running through the effects loop whit i think is really handy. one thing i do hate however is i cant get it to get the heavy metal distortion almost fuzz but more like metallica songs or megadeth.

I'm not exactly sure what year this amp was made, but it's a 112S made before they came up with the 'Transtube' circuitry. It has a teal line on the face and i believe these are sometimes referred to as 'tealfaces'.
It's fairly versatile for a solid-state amp of it's price. It has plenty of different sounds. I've used it to come up with thrash metal sounds, punk sounds, grunge sounds, clean sounds, and crank up the spring reverb to emulate some of that Dick Dale surf sound.
It's got independent channels with their own eq, plus extra sound-shaping switches on top of that. It has an effects loop send and return, input jack straight to the power amp (great feature), preamp output (another great feature), and footswitch jack (which works fine). No headphone output. Bummer.
I use this amp in my house, for recording stuff, in my rehearsal space, it has been used at gigs for a bass and as an improvised bass amp, it doesn't sound half bad. It's got 80 loud watts pushing a 12" Sheffield speaker (Peavey's version of a Celestion I'm guessing).

I plug my BC Rich Warlock, Squier Stratocaster, '75 Fender Musicmaster bass, and a Perea Black Sunshine (a homemade guitar) into it. I can get a great to decent sound out of all of them. As before, it suits a variety of styles. Has never been noisy. Others claim the distortion is terrible, but it sounds great to me. In fact, I've had friends come over and hear the tone and start tweaking knobs on their gear trying to emulate it. The Clean channel always stays clean in my experience. The distortion is brutal enough for my thrash and punk tastes. Obviously you can't get a warm tube sound out of a solid-state amp. Not even the Transtubes are going to do that. No solid-state will EVER sound like a tube amp. Get over it. If you want tube sound, why the hell are you buying solid-state?

This amp has been given hell. I've stood on the amp, jumped off the amp, kicked the amp, legdropped the amp, flying-elbowed the amp, shoved the amp, slammed a guitar into the amp, dropped the amp several times (once it rolled a complete rotation) and not even the spring reverb has ever gone out. This amp is solid as a tank. The combined efforts of Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Undertaker, and the Rock could not destroy this amp. Dis beotch be tuff. Lay the smackdown all you want, this amp is never down for the count. As a matter of fact, one time I had it beneath a window that got left open during a storm. The amp got soaked completely with water and after it dried out for a week, it was working perfectly fine again.
