made and bought in 2003,70 watts. pre-gain, active/passive input select, 4-band eq, effects loop, master volume, headphone jack, and a "bright" switch. The features are pretty simple, but let me get the sound I want very quickly and easily. I mostly play rock and punk, and it can handle both styles well. There's a few features I don't use, but it scores points for ease of use.

I'm using this with a Peavy Grind 4 neck-through (HH), and a Yamaha RBX 170 (PJ). I use a lot of mids for my rock sound, and having both high and low mid settings helps to tailor the sound to my preferences. It can do a trebly punk sound pretty well, too. The amp doesn't distort unless the pre-gain is cranked to at least 7.5, and I can get a good Overdrive sound with it.

I've been playing for about 3 years, and this amp can be quiet enough to practice, and loud enough to rehearse. I love the eq, but have no use for the effects loop. It was a good deal compared to everything else I tried in the price range. If it was stolen, I would probably go for somthing a little more powerful, but it does the job for now.

I believe 1995 was the year of manufacture.
Good for blues and rock.
one input with active / passive push button. Brite push button.
This is one of the older models. No bass port or extension speaker.
The newer ones are an improvement on design.
Its rated at 50 watts rms. Seems to get the job done at smaller venues.

Fender P Bass with dimarzio pick ups. Sounds basic, very basic. Peavey
got the name right on the mark. no frills, plain jane sound. Plugged in my ibanez acoustic and it sounded horrible on whatever setting I tried.
Funny thing is 6 and 12 string acoustics sound amazing through this!?

Nothing fancy, Turn the key and drive.

Been playing for over 10yrs. If it were lost or stolen, I would get something else, Vox T-60 sounds fantastic and acoustic bass sounds
wonderful through it. I have done quite a bit of shopping around. For
The vox has the sound I'm looking for. The hartke amps sound more modern
to me. The ampegs are excellent sounding, B50r rocket is my favorite but too expensive. The behringer was preety cool too lots of features, but the effect of the ultra bass was truelly wierd. The New peavey 112 sounds just as bread and butter as the older style, but seems to be lighter to carry. Severe duty ready, basic bass sound.

This amp was made and bought in 2004.
I have been playing guitar for over 10 years, but never touched Bass. Until one Valve Amplifer Fesitval I went to, I started to talk to a Bass player. I had a go, and fell in love with bass.
This amp is versatile enough for my needs, but at the moment I require a little more. The amp is 65Watts, fed into a 12" speaker. I play Rock, mainly. I play everything. The Doors, Jet, Iron Maiden, Jamiroquia, etc.. The amp's 5 band EQ is very versatile.
It has just the one channel, but it has an effects loop (I think). Its preamp out and in, but the instruction manual doesn't say what its used for and I am not sure myself. The amp has a thankful headphone jack...much to the wife's agreement. It also has a hi/lo input (I guess for active and passive basses) and a bright switch.
The features suit me well, only thing I wished it had was a bigger speaker and higher output, but then it would be another amp. I hardly use the bright switch, and the hi/lo switch is always set to high input cause I play with an Ibanez SRX300, twin humbucker, active EQ.
I play this bass mainly at home practicing to songs my band jam to. I also use it at a rehearsal studio where my band get together and practice, and above said band, gets together once every last Wednesday of the month and plays at a regular venue that has open mic/jam nights. We use this as our live practice channel until we get a few orginal songs down and get paid performances. Which in this case, I will have to either mic up the amp of get a bigger on (Peavey MkIII or IV and a 4X10 cab - I played through one of those and the sound was so sweet).
The amp HAD enough power for me at the start. Now I just need more. I also notice that sometimes it goes get drowned out alittle during loud performances, and the volume is cranked up to 7 (it goes to 10 but nothing happens from 7 to 10) and the gain is on 2-3 max, after that, the bass goes dirty, and I like it clean.

I use a standard Ibanez SRX300 bass with this amp. I play all styles, whever is groovy, I'm there! haha.
Its suits all my styles.
The amp is very quiet. It only gets noisy when I turn the Bright switch on, which I never use anyway. Or if I have (for experimentation purposes) flicked the input switch to Low. Which I assume ommittes a resistor and lets passive bass sound through.
The amp does has a great variety of sounds. The EQ settings make a huge difference in sound, just not very loud.
The sound is very clean at high volumes, I can crank it all the way and it stays clean, which is really good. But the Gain settings are on 2-3, after that, distortion kicks in and after 5 it just sounds like its clipping. I prefer it clean anyway.
The distortion is brutal, in a bad way.

I can safely say that this amp is dependable. I have had no issues with it and I have gigged for an hour at a time, reheasals for 3-4 hours with no breaks and played at home for 1-2 hour sessions.
Its hot here in Australia in summer. I have jammed with it outdoors for a mates birthday party once, and it was 40 Degrees Celsius (iduno: 120*F or something). And the amp kept rocking.
The amp has never caused me issues. I don't neglect it, but I don't maintain it either. Its solid state, so I don't think it would need attention until it breaks down. But I try to avoid bumps and knocks, and I do wipe it down when I notice its dirty (dusty etc). I sit on it sometimes and other times a fine Ale sits on top of it.

In the beginning, I thought there was an issue with it. I took it back to the shop I got it from. And I was greeted with friendly service. They tested it, compared it to another Amp and we put it down to mine just starting to run in. So the sound was smoothing out and it would probably stay that way. But the shop told the Peavey rep anyway, and when he came around to the shop, they called me to bring the amp in, cause the rep was curious anyway. I think its nice to know that the rep was genuinely interested in my case. Although small and negligable.
Like most peavey's built in the U.S.A. its solid, I don't expect it to go south, so I can't comment on the service when it heads down that road.
The shop I got it from is Authorised.
Warranty is 1 year, but it came with a coupon for a further 2 years. Very nice to offer that.

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I have been playing Bass for a little over 4 months.
If this amp were stolen or lost I would probably look for something else bigger and more powerful.
I do love its size and its reliability. I hate that it has some features that I never use.
I compared it to other similar products. I bought this one cause it was the best sounding 12" combo bass amp in its price range. I compared it to an Ampeg 4X10 stack (200 something watts head) but it just didn't sound as nice in the shop. But I'd like to have another go with the knowledge I have now. I also tried out an Ashton 12" combo, which was half the price...not worth it. It sounded very bad, no feel, no volume.

it is louder and cleaner sounding than the ampeg b100r and the fender bassman 100....its also half the price and made in america

Bought new in 98. Simple amp, simple EQ. I like that. Headphone jack and line out are handy, as is the -10dB jack. I use it for classic rock, blues, low-strain kinds of stuff. Intended it for practice but have gigged with it...which it really isn't cut out for UNLESS you can live w/ low stage volume and you can get at a channel on the PA.

Gets signal from a Yamaha RBX360 or an old Foundation. SOunds surprisingly strong w/ good definition with the gains set at 50%. Beyond that on either and the sound quickly degenerates to mud. Not much noise and reasonable, if not awesome punch. As small and light as it is, it shouldn't sound as good as it does.

Been playing bass for 16 years, off and on. This thing will never replace my trusty TNT130, but is far less likely to give me a hernia. If it goes, I'll get another one just like it. Have a Crate BX25 as well, but this beats it every way. In this price range, it's probably the only amp I've tried I would buy. Whoops up severely on Fender Bassman 60 (or is it 50?).

I primarily bought this for busking. We use a car battery and converter to power our amps when on the street, so a small but loudish amp was needed. This fitted the bill. I play a Sadowsky 4 string, fretless Fender jazz and fretted Fender jazz. They all sound pretty ok through this amp. I'm not sure what the other reviewers expected for a few hundred bucks, but it sounds pretty ok to me. Doesn't match the bottom end of my Eden WT800 and Acme B2, but also didn't cost several grand. Pretty quiet, fairly natural sounding and plenty loud enough for small settings. No, it's not going to fill Wembley stadium surprise surprise.

For those of you who think this amp is heavy, you need to start getting in shape if you want to move up to something bigger. My ampeg 410 weighs about three times this little fella. Unfortunately at this point in time, BASS = WEIGHT.

1 Channel, 4 band eq, pre gain, master volume, 'bright' switch, -10dB gain switch, Preamp out, Pwr amp in, headphone jack. This amp is a good practice amp but thats about it, and dont plan on using your five-string with it at any volume. Boost your lows and this sucker distorts like crazy when you play the low stuff.

I'm using an Ibanez EDC705 and a Fender Mexi 4 String P-Bass with this amp. It handles the Fender fine, but the Ibanez's fifth string sounds like CRAP through this amp. The low end gets destroyed, and if you boost it at all, it distorts like a sonuvabitch

Rock solid, never had a problem other than this one time I was playin in some shitty old cabin and the cabin couldn't push the power so the thing sounded like it had blown a speaker. So don't plan on using it in extremely low power conditions (this shouldn't be an issue for most). This amp has never broken down, I've dropped it a couple times, put a hole in the wall with it, and yanked the cable out of it while it was on many many times. I'm really hard on this amp, and it's withstood it all. Quite surprising actually. It's heavy tho.

Been playing it for a year, it's my first amp so I don't have a huge amount of experience. I have played around with some nicer GK amps and such and they beat the living hell out of this thing tho. Not surprising for the price. This is a good practice/very small gig amp for the beginner bassist. However if I had to do it over, I'd buy something bigger/better sounding, and that could handle my fiver. If it was stolen, I'd buy something bigger. But I don't regret buying it, as it is a solid amp for the price.

This amp has quite a few features, more than one would expect, but that doesnt mean it's good. Read the other reviews for the exact features, they've got them down pretty much. The features are pretty good for this range of amp, but i find that they aren't versatile enough for me. I never use the effects loop, in fact i didn't know what it was until a month or two ago. It could use an external speaker out, that is one thing that could improve it a lot. The 12" speaker is pretty good, but a cab would be better, and wouldn't distort at high volumes. I mostly use this for practise, havent gigged with it yet (i dont really want to, hopefully i can get a better one soon). I have used it at high volume for jamming with a LOUD drummer, and it distorts when pushed.

I use this with an ibanez sdgr gsr200, pretty low range ibanez, but a medium range bass in the scheme of things. I have a few pedals, but none of them can make this amp sound very good. It lacks punch severely, i have to use a compressor pedal to get any punch whatsoever. I have found a few good sounds (good for this amp), but i have found much better sounds on higher quality amps. This one lacks a tone. The amp doesnt make much noise, occasionaly a bit of hiss, but thats probably from my bass and pedals, rather than the amp. It kind of lacks enough power for any loud playing, and i wouldnt recommend gigging any big places with it. It doesnt really suit any style of music, except if you dont want much of a bass tone. If you are just starting, then this amp could be good for you, but anyone experienced, and wanting a quality amp with a range of good tones, buy something else.

This amp has been pretty reliable so far, i havent gigged with it though. I've had it for almost a year, and the only problem was a week or 2 ago, when the master volume pot inside it got dirty or something. Every time i adjusted it, the amp would crackle loudly, and when i was playing, it would cut out every now and then, or go really quiet. I opened it up and gave it a squirt of wd40, no probs now.

I've been playing for almost a year, this was my 1st amp. It was good for what i got it for, a practise amp to learn with, but not much else. Its damn heavy, about as heavy as my brother's 100w marshall, and a pain to lug around. It doesnt have enough versatility to find any good tones, and the okay tones are hard to find, too. If it were stolen, i wouldnt really care, i'd probably cheer, cos that would give me an excuse to get a better amp. I kind of want it to break, thats how bad it is, heheh. I didnt compare it to anything when i bought it, but i dont think that would have made a difference, cos at that stage i wouldnt have known it was bad. I wanted a cheap amp with a fairly high wattage, and thats what i got, :(. I wish i got a smaller amp, that was easier to cart around, the it would be easier to get a better, bigger one. I need a better amp soon, but.........
If you want a good amp, move on, this one bites.

Amp probably made around '95. I got it about 5 years ago w/ my first bass. Has 12" speaker, 50 watts RMS, "DDT compression" (which is just a -10 db button), bright switch, pregain, low,low-mid,high-mid,and high tone controls, and an effects loop that i never use. Normal stuff for this price, nothing special.

This amp has absoulutly no punch - it is probably the worst possible amp I could've gotten. Playing in a funk/rock band with a loud guitarist and drummer, I need punchy lows and clear highs that will cut, cuz i slide up a lot and pop dyads (2 note chords) for accents. well, this amp doesn't do anything close to that. Like the other review said, this amp just doesn't have the punch. I'm using this with a Warwick Thumb 4 bolt-on, so it's definately not the bass's fault. But it is loud enough so you can tell the bass is doing something, so i'll give it a 4

This is probably the best part (snicker) of this amp. I've kicked its ass a lot (it's been rolled down a steep driveway, fallen out of my car, kicked/pummeled in anger). And it hasn't broken yet. But the speaker isn't doing too good; with the pregain and master both set on 3, it distorts. This happens with any bass, so it's not hot pickups thats doing it.

I've been playing for 5 years, and my setup is the warwick into a bass-balls, dunlop bass wah, then into the amp. This amp is durable and has held up well, but it just doesn't have enough punch, and the speaker kinda blows. I'm probably going to get a Carvin 1000-watt head, w/ a 4x10 and 15. yup. fuzzy noodles.
