Late '90s model, 50 watts RMS @ 8 ohms, solid-state, 1 x 12" speaker, DDT compression, one channel, pre/post gain, bright switch (+8db/8kHz), 4-band active EQ, preamp out, power amp in, headphone jack, closed back cabinet, black tolex covering, 47 lbs. This is a good, economical bass amp with enough power for small gigs. The sound can be a little "muddy" or "boxy" without the bright switch, but the tone controls are adequate for an amp in this price range. This amp has been used for rehearsals and small gigs (indoor), but I would not use it for outdoor gigs or very large rooms because it doesn't have enough headroom.

I use this amp for blues and roots-rock and the sound is good enough for the amateur band that I play with. However, this is not a professional bass amp--it just doesn't have enough power or low-end 'punch'. I use this amp with an SMD custom bass (Bartolini pickups) and I can get several different usable tones from deep, booming bass to bright, 'Jaco' sounds (w/bridge pu only). I have also used this amp with a Fender/Squire Jazz bass and it sounds very good. I haven't noticed much hum or noise with this amp, so I would rate it as being very quiet. The amp sounds clean at half-volume, but will distort a little if pushed too hard. With the master volume at 10, I would not recommend setting the pre-gain past 5. My major criticism of this amp is with the tone--the Low-Mid control has a very unnatural sound for bass, and the amp definitely lacks that low-end 'punch' of a pro sounding amp.

I have used this amp for the past 3 years with no problems.

I've been playing bass 'seriously' for 7 years, but I've only had this amp for about 3 years. This amp is a good value for the price, but after using it and comparing it to other bass combos, I would not buy this amp again because it does not have the high-quality 'pro' sound that I want. When I bought this amp my budget was limited, so I compared it to other brands in its price range and it sounded the best to me at the time. However, if I were to buy a more expensive amp I would probably get an Ampeg or SWR--one with a solid low-end 'punch' that you can feel. That's what I really miss with this amp--it sounds ok, but you can't FEEL the tone.

First off, I'd like to note that this is a bass amp, and if you take a look around you'll notice that a third of the other amps in here are also bass amps. This is a great website but it needs bass amp reviews too. So, on with the show. It's got a treble boost (bright switch), a switch that removes 10dB of gain for if you have a high output bass, (you don't want to overdrive the amp) pre gain, a four part EQ, (low, low mid, high mid, high) master volume, preamp in and power amp out, and a headphone jack. It's got one 12 inch speaker and will blow the windows out of your bedroom. The features are more then you'd expect on an amp of this scale.

Like I said, the features are more then you'd bargain for. The flexible EQ will tune into something pretty close to the tone you want without making you go into parametric EQs and other more advanced EQs. I'm using a P-Bass copy with Dimarzio replacement pickups. It doesn't feed back too easily, although there is a noticeable hum.

For a small gig I suppose I would bring it, no backup. I wouldn't dare bring it to anything big, afterall, it's just a big bedroom amp. But, it is quite reliable for the use it was meant for.

I've been playing for a year and have rented/tried out a variety of amps (which would fit my current needs) in that short amount of time. After trying those amps, I made an educated decision on which amp would fit me, and, being male I had to get one bigger then it had to be. I think I made a pretty good buy. It would be nice if it had an effect or two, maybe a chorus, or perhaps *ahem* distortion. But that's pushing it, a bass amp this size usually has less on board. When I was buying I did for a while wonder if I should get a Minx 110 instead, but I've rented that and it was too quiet (for me atleast) and there was no master volume, only a pregain.
