Dunno when it was made, its the transtube series envoy 110. Two inputs-high gain and low gain. Two channels-clean and lead. Clean-choose between modern and vintage, high low and mid equaliser. Lead-choose between high gain, modern and vintage, pre gain, post gain, high low mid. Reverb.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this guitar with a Tanglewood Starfire Black Custom (Les Paul copy) with twin humbuckers. I actually like the distortion i can get from it, the modern setting is really good but the vintage just seems to be really quiet! It is very loud on the lead channel, i use it in my bedroom and rarely turn the post gain above 2. Reverb doesnt seem to be much good. I dont use any effects at the minute besides a jim dunlop cry baby, but i may try a distortion pedal on the clean channel. Speaking of which, it is cleaner than mr muscles bathroom, and stays clean when you crank it up to full volume!

Reliability : 9
It looks as solid as a rock, but i aint had it too long so i'll see how it holds out. I dont gig so i wouldnt know if it would stand up to one but it seems great.

No need for them yet.

Overall Rating : 8
I've only been playing for about 6 months and this is a great step up from my last 10W Leem amp. Dunno if i would replace if stolen i may look for a cheap marshall or a used jcm800.

I bought this amp in 2000. It has 2 inputs (high and low gain). 2 channels. All the basics.

Sound Quality : 8
I run a Fender Strat with single coils into this puppy. The distortion on this amp is not the best. However, I do like the clean tones this amp puts out. This amp should mainly be used for bedroom practice, which is what I use it for. So for a practice amp, this ain't bad.

Reliability : 10
This amp holds up well. I've had it for 2 years and it's held up well, although I had to tighten a couple screws (but no biggie).

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealth with them, but I'm sure they'd help you.

Overall Rating : 8
Too bad the distortion on this thing isn't any better. But it's a good practice amp.

Bought the amp new in 2000.Has the basic features of most any amp in its catagory.

Sound Quality : 1
The clean channel i find to be very clean. The distorted channel is crap. You have to fight to get any decent sound out of it.I play a B.C Rich american warlock with EMG pick ups.Through this amp i get a major "screaming pig" noise if the volume is turned past 2. The distortion is weak .Although there is a reverb knob ,there is no reverb ,just added noise.

Reliability : 10
Its too reliable .It won't die. Been trying to kill it for almost a year now.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I havent dealt with Peavy . Ihave a warranty ... but I'll be too happy when/if i kill it to actually use it

Overall Rating : 1
There really isnt much chance that this amp will be lost(short of forgetting to put the tailgate up on my truck ... hmmmmmm ...)and if it were to be stolen ... well ,I appologise to the poor thief.

Made in 2001. 2 input jacks for high and low gain. 2 channels - clean and high gain. Headphone and footswitch jacks located in back. 40-watt, 10" blue marvel speaker. Very nice looking amp (red & black theme).

Sound Quality : 2
I use a Fender Strat with a Seymour HotRail in the bridge, a Seymour JB Jr. in the middle, and the stock single-coil at the neck. It also has locking tuners, and Graphtech saddles and trees. How does this amp sound? Well, not to be over-critical, on the distortion channel it sounds like a squealing pig most of the time. It screaches, pops, and crackles with annoying consistency. I dare anyone to get a decent metal sound out of this amp's distortion channel, and still have enough hearing-range left to appreciate it. The clean channel is good, though. Maybe too clean at times, as every string noise is evident. I can, on occasion, get a couple of goods sounds out of it. Some harmonics sounds pretty good. And when the wind blows the knobs in just the right positions, I can actually hear a hint of heavy metal -but the dream fades fast as feedback and cat-scratch fever sets in on the very next note. If you play clean, it's an acceptable choice. For rock and heavy metal, save your money and frustration.

Reliability : 10
Solid as a rock. Still looks great after a year. Everything has always worked, and still works.

Never had to contact them.

I have been playing guitar for about two years. I have owned a few nice guitars such a Gibson SG, Epiphone SG, Gibson LP Gold Top, and this Strat. If this amp were stolen, I would run into the streets yelling to thank the thief for giving me an excuse to buy a different amp. Although it's good looks may tease you in the store window, pass by quickly -it will bite you first and every chance it gets.

Quite well done, with clean and fuzz channels, with two types of fuzz, and reverb.
Mine is an older model with the heavy grained black vinyl and two alloy strips down each side of the speaker cloth. Bought new a few years ago.

Sound Quality : 8
I am an old geezer, it's my main amp for home use/practice, as well as gigs. Used with a Strat copy and an Aria jazz hollowbody, I use NO effects pedals, just the reverb on the amp to give the sound some lift. I find no difficulty getting most sounds in conjunction with my guitars, I almost always use the clean channel only -set to full volume with actual control of the sound level from the guitar. The thing is, this amp is LOUD-especially for it's size- I get more requests to turn down than up!!I play fairly hard (rhythym and lead together whilst also singing lead), I work in a three piece with a drummer and bass player-old 1950's/1960's US/UK rock'n'roll and r&b.

Reliability : 9
Has been totally reliable- my backup is either a small Park 25 watt bass combo or a DI box to plug the guitar into the PA if the amp goes out. The Peavey amps all seem to be very tough and made with live gigging/travelling in mind.Being transistor amps there is very little needing regular attention.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't needed any.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing most styles of rock, r&b,blues, country, acoustic blues, cabaret/standards etc on guitar since about 1965. The Peavey is really all I have apart from the little bass amp which was my wife's when she played bass with me in a country band a few years ago.
The equipment isn't really critical for me-either a person can play or not- if necessary I would use anything- the challenge for me is to get the most variations and/or the best possible sound from whatever is in my hands, whether a Gibson or a piece of junk!

The amp is a great little screamer! If it were gone for any reason, I would go to a pawnshop or whatever and buy whatever I could afford!

Two Channels (Clean & Lead) with 3-band EQ, Adjustable Distortion (Lead Channel), Switchable Reverb, Headphone jack (mutes speaker) and Preamp Out. Nothing too complicated, but handy for a few different sounds. This is an early '90s model, so none of the newer features (Vintage/Modern, etc.)

Sound Quality : 7
Clean sound is CLEAN; no real coloration of guitar's inherent sound. Lead channel has some usable distortion, but works best with humbuckers; Strat/single-coil players will be unimpressed and unsatisfied. I use a Gibson Les Paul Special w/humbuckers, and this thing works as a practice amp for Classic/Hard Rock and Metal sounds. You won't get quality tone out of this, but it is great to practice on by yourself or in a small-group jamming situation. Reverb is okay, but don't expect too much from such a small, personal PRACTICE amp.

Reliability : 8
Haven't had too many problems, and I've been hauling this thing around the country with me since 1992. It's solid and tough. Only one issue from my experience: the reverb tank can work loose which causes the amp sound to just DECAY. If you have one and see this problem, just try re-tightening the screws. Caution: they are hard to reach.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I think it came with a 1 year warranty, but I've never needed it or even talked to them.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing since '91, and this was my first amp. I kind of liked it then, and I still use it now for bedroom practicing. For gigs now I have a '66 Bassman head w/2x12" Bandmaster cab. Now THAT'S a real amp! But for the money, the Envoy isn't bad. What everyone must realize is that this is a PRACTICE amp. You can NOT use this for big gigs or anything; it's just not enough amp unless you're playing solo in some small coffee shop. I chose this amp b/c it was the cheapest brand-name amp with a lead channel (I was in high school), and I was just starting to play at the time. As a practice amp, it's perfect; no other features/qualities needed. For anything else, I would not recommend it. If it were stolen, I'd consider another one depending on the kind of deal I could get; but check around and see what works best for you.

This amp has tons of features, definitely more than I need. I have no idea what country it was made in, and I quite frankly don't give a damn . It works for what I bought it for- a liftable amp with pretty much infinite clean headroom. The added distortion is a nice touch, and I occasionally use it, but I prefer my tubescreamer, as it's much smoother than the amp (and, with the stompbox, more distortion doesn't raise volume). The one thing I do wish I had, which isn't really a big issue anyway is the footswitch. I never turn off the reverb, but I think I might use the amp's distortion a bit more if I didn't have to reach down and cause feedback (bridge p-up + distortion= feedback) to turn the distortion on and off. But I do have the tubescreamer, so this ceases to be a real issue. I also wish this thing was a tube amp, but I guess, for the deal I got on it, that's too much to hope for.
There are some features on this amp that not even a shitty player would need to use (to hide behind). Why the hell do you need a switch to cut the signal from hot pickups? Even a fool wouldn't knowingly buy a guitar with hot pickups and expect it to stay clean at earsplitting volumes. Even single coils don't stay clean at earsplitting volumes. Secondly, what's with this "thrash" thang? As far as I've seen, it doesn't do anything, but they say it "notches the midrange". Whatever.
The features that I do use mostly do what I want, so the Envoy gets a nice score.

Sound Quality : 9
I use the Envoy with a Yamaha Pacifica 102s (go read my review on that one). My music style includes jazz, blues, rock, country, and everything that comes as a result of mixing them. That being said, I mostly play clean, and I haven't had a need to put the volume past two, even for large rooms, so I can't say anything about clean at high volumes, but I would guess that with 40 watts of power, it'd stay clean at eleven or twelve (the control goes to 10). Now, I've read a lot of reviews saying that the amp buzzes. It does, but only when the bass and mids are up way too high. I keep the bass at six, mids at five, and highs at eight, and there's no problem, even when I do turn up past one on the volume.
As I said before, I don't like the amp's distortion, except for maybe two songs out of about 150 that I play. Actually, I don't really like distortion to begin with, but I see where it has a place, and that's where I use it. However, it usually comes from a tubscreamer, not the amp. That said, the Envoy gets a nine because the clean, which is what I use most of the time, is good, but the distortion isn't so good.

Reliability : 10
I have no backup and I gig semi- regularly. 'Nuff said. Yes, it is loud enough. (at 40 watts it'd better be!) My one complaint is the fact that the input jack occasionally shorts out, but that's never happened at a gig (knock wood), so it shouldn't be a problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never sent in the warranty card. If it breaks, I'll either fix it myself, take it to a friend of mine, or take it back to Chuck Levin's, where I bought it.
As for Peavey as a company, they have a cool website. Don't think I'll ever ask them to fix the amp, though.

Overall Rating : 10
I have one comment. I want a tube amp, but I got a good deal on this one, and it sounds good, so solid state's all right.

This amp has a decent amount of features. Unfortunately there are only one or two sounds you can tweak out this amp that sound nice. A footswitch to kill the reverb and switch channels is available seperately.

Sound Quality : 4
This amp is very noisy so I reccomend a guitar with humbuckers. This is not ideal for lead playing because of the scratchy, annoying treble this amp offers. As I said in the features this is definetly a two sound amp, and you have to spend so much time tweaking to get a decent sound. Don't bother with the distortion, it is almost a throw-away. Buy a pedal and run it on the clean channel.
The amp sounds bad with volume below 1/4, and as you start to crank it up above 3/4 you will get noise and feedback uncontrollably. Trying to get good sound out of this is an exercise in time and frustration.

Reliability : 10
You could throw it down the stairs, and it would be fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used it.

Overall Rating : 6
I have been playing for two years. I bought this as my first amp without even plugging into it. I would not replace it at all since I purcchased a new amp recently. The treble on this really bites, as does the distortion. I reccomend it if you can get it for under $100 and use it for a few months as your first amp. Then, trade it in and get something with more sounds and more power!

Tidbit:
(One time I was playing in a small room with a tile floor and I cranked up the drive channel with both Pre and Post around 7-9. When I cranked up the reverb to 10 and started playing, it began to slide across the floor. Very cool!)

It has two channels, one clean and one lead chanel. A really cool feature is on the clean and lead you can switch from vintage to modern depending on the sound you want to get. The reverb is great to have i use it all the time. There are treble bass and middle for both channels. There is a headphone jack and a footswitch jack, which I have never used because I don't have a footswitch.

Sound Quality : 7
The sound I get on clean is good at a lower setting like 4 or 5, but when I put it higher, it is a little distorted. On the lead channel, it's the same thing except if I turn it up even half way, I hear a very loud highpitch sound. The lead channel does have a really good sounding distortions. You can have a really blues sound distortion to a very grundgy metal distortion and everything in between.

Reliability : 9
This amp is very sturdy and strong. It has been droped upside down and slammed into walls and everything else. The sound has never changed. I've never even had to bring it in to repair it. It is a very reliable amp.

I have a year warranty, but I have never used it.

Mine is the old-style Envoy 110. Pretty standard features you'll find on most amps of that size and quality. I use a multi-effects pedal anyway, so I have all the features I need there.

Sound Quality : 10
I think it's sound is 10 times better than other amps it's size. It's got all the tone you need. I use the 'metal' distortion on my Zoom505 and it sounds great on the Envoy110 (as long as it stays relatively low volume). The amp's distortion is pretty week though. The clean channel sounds really good, especially at high volume.

Reliability : 6
I got the amp used so I don't know how old it really is, but the input jack shorts out and it's a real pain...I haven't fixed it yet, but I've heard that problem was really hard to fix. Everything else seems to work fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with Peavey.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing guitar for a little over 2 years. My playing ability passes my tech knowledge by a long shot. I don't know as much about amps and equipment as veterans, but I do like this amp. I've played on a ton of different amps and I like the Envoy110's sound the best (out of amps it's size). I think the sound overall is way better than the more expensive 10" amps. And the price is great (especially if you get it used like I did). I think this amp is better for recording than actually playing gigs (it's way to small of course). Overall, great amp!
