This amp is nice because it has a ext. speaker output that can power a seperate cabinet. The pre-amp out also is very helpful when direct recording into a multitrack. The clean channel could use a little stronger tone but the distortion channel has awesome sustain and it rocks.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm playing a Nashville Tele Deluxe and the distortion channel with the pre-gain down around 3 or 4 and post-gain up around 7 or 8 makes the perfect sound for rockin blues.

Reliability : 7
It's a tough little amp and I haven't had any problems except that the input jack is loose and is hard to fix on your own because it's wired right to the mother board.

I've been playing with this amp for three years now. It's great for practicing and small gigs. For the price I paid for it, this amp, dollar for dollar, is definately worth it. Peavey makes great live sound equipment and this amp is proof.

My amp was bought new in '98, when I started playing. It is a two channel amp, but no footswitch. Solid state, 'tube emulation' on the dist. channel, and a preamp out.
I play hardcore death metal, and only use this amp in my bedroom for practice. I have never touched the distotion channel, so my review is based solely on the clean channel.

Sound Quality : 5
I have a miriad of guitars, but the important thing is my pickups - always active EMG's. This amp gets run through effects pedals, so my clean channel is set up to function well under these conditions. In fact, I run the bass and treble all the way up with the mids all the way down. This amp isn't a great amp for sounds (like a Line 6), but for a metal 'scooped' sound, it works very well. When I make demo recordings, this is my amp - I do like it's tones. It only gets a '5' because it is such a simple amp w/o any frills.

Reliability : 10
Obviously, I'm not going to gig with it because it's so teeny, the stinkin' think is a Mack Truck, though. So, yes I would trust it on a gig.

My main equipment is the full Warhead stack from Randall, so you can see that I kinda like solid state amps. The Envoy 110 has a solid state sound on the clean channel, and this is what I like. This amp would not be very good for a gigging musician just because it is wimpy. I use it just so I don't go deaf in my bedroom. I have read alot of the reviews from other readers, and they are always knockin' this amp. I feel that they need to realize that all low-end amps are going to have sucky distortion. Once you figure that out, this baby will make some pretty sweet noises for you.
Sadly, if it were stolen, I wouldn't get another. I'd rather have a Line 6 Spider for practicing. But, this works well and I like it. I wouldn't change a damn thing about it because that is the beauty of it - simple as hell. I gave it an '8' because it doesn't do well past '5' or '6' on the volume.

This is a follow up to my last review. I got this amp for the clean channel, to use with my distortion pedals. Well they all sucked through this amp. Man this amp sucks all around. All of the Peavey soildstate amps suck. When I took this back I played all the big ones. They all suck just as bad. I traded it for a G25R Park amp. All my distortion pedals sound great through it. The Park Is the amp to get.

The basic like all amps.

I mostly got this amp for the clean channel to use for practice with my distortion pedal. The clean channel Is pretty good for a cheap amp. Not tube clean or anything, lets not get crazy. It has a button you can push to make the clean darker. I didn't even try the distortion before I got it. I didn't care what It sounded like. But If you want to know, It sounds better then a Mesaboogie Daul rectifier. LOL yea right. It sucks like all soildstate amps do. It sounds thin, sterile, and rough. It has a gain button that adds more bass, and a thrash button that makes it even more worse sounding.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know.

Never talked to them.

I just got it for a practice amp. At $30 its not bad for the clean. I have a Mesaboogie that I use in my band, soon a VHT. If you want a amp for distortion, tubes are the only way to go.

Believe amp was made in 99'. It is not a very versatile amp considering it is damn near lifeless. 2 channels which are below average. Doesn't have nearly emough power. Used solely as practice amp and would never recommend to gig with.

Sound Quality : 3
Currently using a Guild s-100 solid body with 2 seymour duncan humbuckers. I play southern rock and some blues/country (allman brothers, SRV, Dead) Amp hums to much anywhere above 5. LIFELESS sound. Tough to get good tone. Even with effects pedal it doesn't measure up. Clean channel does sound allright at times. Distortion- DUll.

Reliability : 9
Its a rock. Sometimes I wish it would break but this thing can survive a beatin.

I have been playing for 5 years and wouldn't recommend this amp to anybody. It would be allright if it were free but i would definately buy something a little more high quality and spend the extra cash. I also have a Marshall DSL201 combo and Fender Bassman.

I believe this amp is a 2000 model and I'm pretty sure. Clean: vintage and modern. Lead: High Gain, modern, vintage. Headphone jack.

Sound Quality : 2
I can not say enough about the crappy sound quality. Its a major buzzing amp ( I think its defective ) when palm muting. I use an Ibanez AX. Distortion sucks crap. Buy a pedal. This is my first electric guitar and amp and i played it sounded like it worked and bought it. Never do that!!! Always test the amp to its highest abillitys. I'm upgrading to a Stuido Pro. This is probally a really good practice amp but not meeting my sound and volume requirements for me.

Reliability : 3
NO. you can not depend on this amp. Mabey you could around 1 or 2 on the volume control its good. But 3 pre gain and 4 on post gain (volume) and bass 0 mid 5 and high 5 on lead High Gain, it starts buzzing!!!! You are pushing the limits of the amp!!! Again I think myn is defective.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Really nice. But not really helpful. They said just return the amp. And thats what I'm doing.

Overall Rating : 1
Please do yourselve a favor. Do not buy this amp. Upgrade to a Sudio 112 or try different amps. Dont be like me and buy the amp just cause you're excited to get playing, but it'll be alot more useful to wait. TRUST ME!!!

There are many decent features on this amp. I like the reverb, and the clean channel. However, the are far too many negative features. It does not have an f/x loop, distortion sucks (which makes effects necessary), and about about a million internal problems that have "sprung up".

Sound Quality : 4
Here's my setup: Peavey Envoy 110-->Boss Noise Suppressor-->Boss Equalizer-->Boss Distortion-->Crybaby Wah-->Fender Deluxe Fat Strat. As you have suspected, I am a Boss whore. However, this amp puts out way too much feedback for the amount of watts it puts out. I mean this thing just sounds like crap. I mean, I play Pearl Jam, Metallica, Tool, Kyuss, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osborne, and a million other bands and without my effects this amp would be nothing.

Reliability : 7
I have had to fix the input/output jack. That's it. You just can't FIX the horrible sounds this makes. It has many problems that will occur if you have this amp over a short period of time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never Delt with Peavey. If I ever did, then they would get an earful of my complaints about sound quality

Overall Rating : 5
I AM going to replace it this christmas (2000). I am getting a nice $400 Marshall. YOU should too. Chuck this amp out your window.

im not sure what year this amp was made cause i bought it used, but i know its not the newest edition. i believe its a 40 watt amp with a 10" speaker. its got a clean channel and a distortion channel (actually 2) with basic low, mid, high EQ. i agree with what some other people have said, that it could use some effects loops. i mainly use this amp when playing, practicing, messing around (whatever) in my room...its not really made for anything else.

Sound Quality : 8
i play mainly punk using an ibanez ax120 and ibanez sm-7 distortion pedal...and play mainly in my room with it. as far as practicing goes, it definitely suits my style of music. i think the clean channel is pretty good, but im not an expert, i just dont have any complaints about it (that i can blame on the amp because i think the factory pickups on my guitar are the reason it sounds the way it does)as far as the distortion goes, it is a bit noisy with its hum, however i actually like the distortion on the amp better than the distortion i get through my pedal, but then again, thats the price you pay for convenience. the distortion is definitely good for playing a wide range from punk to metal, and it does sound very good loud, but not for gigging, just loud practice :)

Reliability : 10
its dependable, but like i said, not for gigging...its just not powerful enough. for a beginner, like myself, its perfect for jamming on though when practicing and trying to improve. its built tough, and seems like it could withstand some minor abuse. i bought my used and have not had any problems with it at all

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to deal with peavey yet...but ill give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are nice since they make great products

Overall Rating : 8
ive been playing guitar for only a few months, and playing bass for almost 3 years...my bass amp is a peavey basic112, so i bought a peavey guitar amp...they are great for practicing and for beginners

This amp is good for begginers who are looking for some distortion along with the clean tones, but as far as gigging, I have tried that and it really doesn't have the power I need for outside gigs.

Doesn't have the greatest sound. The way I get the sound out of the amp is through a multi-effects pedal. The clean channel is better than the distortion one but overall sound is something not to be expected out of this model.

I've had the amp for 2 years and it has been o.k. but I have taken it apart multiple times to tighten the input hole. Every now and then the amp will go out because I have it up too loud or so I assume this. Only 45 watts of power. Pretty good to practice on. The reverb is a function that I have repeatedly fixed on this amp.

I still gig with it but I make sure that I have the multi-effects pedal to help the tone. Good for beginners.

This amp is a pretty descent practice amp. I play mostly older rock, reggae, and alternative. The only problem is it doesnt have enough wattage to play with drums, you end up being drowned out.

Sound Quality : 6
Its clean channel has a crisp tone, even when its turned up to 8 or 9. The second channel is a little "fuzzy" Whenever you use this channel, the amp kinda hisses at higher volumes. I use a multi-effects processor and it sounds pretty good.

Reliability : 8
You can depend on this amp most of the time. Its casing is strong. I did have the input jack become broken. The main cause of this is the nut holding the jack still became loose. So whenever I pulled on my cord a bit, it slowly broke the soldering. Due the the fact that the jack is mounted directly onto the mother board, It costed about $40 to repair.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
An overall good practice amp. Not recomended for gigs. Descent tone, although its a bit lifeless. Sturdy. Still together, even after banging it around for a couple years. A descent amp.
