This amp is a pretty descent practice amp. I play mostly older rock, reggae, and alternative. The only problem is it doesnt have enough wattage to play with drums, you end up being drowned out.

Sound Quality : 6
Its clean channel has a crisp tone, even when its turned up to 8 or 9. The second channel is a little "fuzzy" Whenever you use this channel, the amp kinda hisses at higher volumes. I use a multi-effects processor and it sounds pretty good.

Reliability : 8
You can depend on this amp most of the time. Its casing is strong. I did have the input jack become broken. The main cause of this is the nut holding the jack still became loose. So whenever I pulled on my cord a bit, it slowly broke the soldering. Due the the fact that the jack is mounted directly onto the mother board, It costed about $40 to repair.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
An overall good practice amp. Not recomended for gigs. Descent tone, although its a bit lifeless. Sturdy. Still together, even after banging it around for a couple years. A descent amp.

Has a descend clean sound on it. This is not a loud amp though. I used it in my dorm room and it seem plenty lound until i took it home and played with my friends band in his garage. I had to turn the volume almost all the way up just so i could be heard. Surprisingly though, the amp stays clear when the volume is at 10. The first distortion channel is what i usually use. It sound pretty good for just about anything. The second channel is a little noisy with my strat. I really wouldn't recomend this for anything but a practice amp.

Reliability : 9
I bought this amp used and i've had it for a year with no problems. It feels very sturdy, has a good handle and the corners have metal protectors so you don't break them up the cement or something. I wouldn't worry about dropping this amp though, it is very light. I've had the volume on 10 before and i use this amp every day and it's still running like a champ.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with peavey

Overall Rating : 8
I have only been playing a little over a year now and this was my first amp. My first guitar was a Squire Strat that i bought used for $50. At first i didn't think that my amp sounded very good compared to my friends. Well it turns out it was just shitty Squire was the culprit. I recently bought a much nicer Fender Strat and the amp sounds like it should....A good practice amp.

Although there is no headphone jack the Peavey transtube Envoy 110 is a fine amp for its purpose (practicing), it has many different options regarding distortion (thrash button for instance) apart from that the only effect is the reverb. Its a relatively small amp so the power you can get from it is very limited (my parents would probably disagree).

Sound Quality : 8
I have been playing my Gibson standard (double-humbuckers) through this amp for about a year or so, looking back the first impression i got from this unit was that it rocked like an animal and that it was perfect for the style of music i wanted/want to play (heavy metal and punk). But since my playing is improving all the time the Envoy 110 seems more and more insufficiant for my growing needs.
No matter how you set the distortion it is quite noisy, and yes the amp does rock like a bastard as long as the volume is not to high (more than 12'o clock). Clean or distorted the amp does not sound very hot at high volumes so it is mainly a rehearsing-amp, and it is ideal for that purpose. There is a wide aspect of sounds that can be made with this amp: from blues and jazz to heavy metal and thrash.

Reliability : 8
At high volumes it has a tendency to groan in a way that is a bit worrying, I would definetly not play with it on a gig.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I usually play bass in a band, i've been doing that for about two years. All in all I have been playing bass/guitar for 3 years.
I would never use the Envoy 110 in a band or on a gig, it is simply not cut out for high volumes. But still its a fine amp for its price, and I would definately consider bying another Peavey amp when the Envoy 110 has done its duty.

Dual switchable channels, reverb, standard para EQ on both channels, Thrash and Gain features in dirty channel, 6 dB padding in clean channel, cabinet and preamp outputs, ***NO FX LOOP*** =P I'm knocking off 2 points because of the lack of an fx loop. it seems like such an easy thing to add...

Sound Quality : 8
This is my first amp, i've been playing for about 8 months or so. My guitar is a Jackson Dinky with an EMG 85 and 2 EMG SA's. I play mostly punk and metal-ish stuff, but mostly i just play whatever i feel like playing (everything from RHCP to Deftones). This amp really does cover my wide range of styles.

The amp is kinda noisy though, even with my EMG pickups. On clean there's almost no static, but on dirty there is a very noticable hum loop (which occurs in most amps, so it's not really that much of a flaw). This thing can get VERY loud considering that it's a "bedroom" amp. I've made my windows rattle on numerous occasions just by turning the post gain past 5.

The amps sounds decent clean. A tad bit muddy though, but what do ya expect for something this cheap? The reverb sucks crap (to put it bluntly), but it gets the job done for a practice amp, i guess. I usually just use my DOD VGS50 for clean channel fx (btw - dont buy a DOD VGS50, heh. it sucks). The 6dB pad is a really useful feature for enhancing the sound a bit.

The dirty channel really shines on this amp. Compared to a similar fender amp, i felt that this amp won hands down, especially for punk and metal styles. By itself, the distortion is pretty decent, but once you punch in the Thrash button, the amp starts to shine. Thrash scoops the mids (in addition to any scooping you did on the EQ) which makes the amp sound absolutely awesome for a solid state amp. For solos and harmonic runs, the Gain button does a good job too by simply adding 10 dB or so to the output. Overall, pretty impressive distortion sound for such a cheap amp.

Another thing I forgot to add -- I mic'ed this amp with my SM58 into my DOD VGS then into my computer, and it sounds godly for recording/sampling. Try it!

Reliability : 10
This thing is indestructable. it's been dropped, knocked around, and hit all over the place and there's not a scratch.

If i did gig, i probably wouldn't use this (it's a practice amp, dummy ;) but it's pretty dern dependable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the company...

Overall Rating : 8
Other than the DOD VGS50 i mentioned, i also have a Boss flanger and chorus, both of which sound pretty good through the amp. But like i mentioned, THERES NO FX LOOP! so you're stuck with putting FX in front of the amp. This renders certain distortion-reliant fx semi-useless (namely my flanger). Ah well, can't have it all i guess...

I love this amp because it's got a great sound and it's perfect for practice in small/medium sized rooms. I chose this one because of the price/wattage/sound quality.

I just wish it had an FX loop =)

Beginners should definitely go with this amp.

1999 Envoy 110, 2 channels clean and lead, Seperate EQs, reverb, pre/post gain on lead, volume on clean, external speaker jack, pre amp out jack, footswitchable reverb and channel. Gain boost, input pad and thrash switches. I play Blues and Jazz, Rock, sometimes metal. The amp is great for metal, and great for really clean, but it doesn't really have the cool, driven tones needed for blues. I think a master volume control is the missing control here - if it had one it would be a VERY good amplifier in the price range. Also a 12 inch speaker would be good. The strangest thing is that the 10 inch speaker has 6 ohm resistance - the amp is fairly underpowered. I play in a garage band with a guy who has a 100 watt combo and my amp is blasted clear. However, it will fill a hall 10x30 metres easily, as I have done before on several occasions. I never use the input pad cause I have a vintage Fender Stratocaster and the pickups don't overload the input anyway, but I tried the pad with a squier with Active EMGS and it does work very well. An effects loop would be good. Otherwise, a good amp features wise, for a beginning guitarist in a band. Its loud enough to blow your house away, though it gets quiet in the presence of louder amps (duh).

Sound Quality : 7
I use a Fender Stratocaster 1962 reissue built in 1986, with vintage pickups. Very noisy, but I think its my puickups cause the squier with EMGs has not much noise. REAL noisy on high lead volumes. This amp is pretty shocking for blues, its not really raunchy enough at high volumes - it just hisses, and it has no life. I find I get better tones out of a Fender Sidekick (backup amp when playing at school), which has a master volume, and that keeps the nice level of overdrive that gives a good blues tone. This amp is GREAT for Jazz, cause its solid state and clean as a whistle. With my guitar it won't distort on the clean channel at all. Its pretty good for metal if you turn all the EQs up to full, and use your guitar to control tone. Blues is OK at low to mid volumes with EQs on Low 6 Mid 7 High 8 (eric clapton settings) but otherwise it sucks. The mid EQ gives too much of a muddy sound, the low is too bassy and the high hurts people ears, so you have to back off them a bit.

Reliability : 9
Never broken down, although it crackles a bit when the rings around the input/line out/preamp out sockets get loose. I use a Fender Sidekick as a backup at my school gigs, but I don't use a backup anywhere else.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nope.

Overall Rating : 7
Been playing guitar 2 years, I'm pretty good actually. I have a Fender Strat 1962 reissue made in 1986, and it has a great tone.
If this amp were lost or stolen i'd get a Studio Pro or a Bandit, or maybe something from another brand, the Envoy is much too underpowered for a growing guitarist. Good for a small band thou (if the music is Jazz or Metal). I didn't buy this amp, my Dad did and if I had the choice back then (got it Feb 99) i would have bought a StudioPro, and now, looking back, I would have bought an Express (with master volume) or Bandit.

Well, it's a U.S.A made amp, which is always a big plus. It pumps up 40 watts, two channels (clean and lead) and some other extras which you can see from the other reviews.
A lot of features for such a cheap amp.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm using an American made Fender Strat with the stock pick-ups, and I gotta say, that I am very impressed with the variety of sounds that I can get with this combo. With the clean channel I can go from jazz to blues, from blues to rock, everything (almost) is possible. I could use some more treble but it's ok. The reverb is decent.
The lead channel is very versatile as well. Very noisy though..
Anyway, if you play heavy metal, you will love the "Thrash gain" switch, that really gives you some brutal distortion.
But, since personally I don't play that sort of music, I usually don't use this feature, but it's good to have. The range of different distortions that you can get is huge. From very slight distortion to very heavy. It's really great actually.. and also, the lead channel is loud, and you can also play loud without problems, but as I said before, it is noisy, so be warned! Personally I play stuff like Yngwie Malmsteen and my own music. It's good for this stuff, really it is! :)

Overall, I'm happy with the sound quality, esp. considering how much I paid for it!

Reliability : 7
Well, it's good but I've had some small problems with the input jack.

But it's not bad at all.. it's reliable enough, I can totally depend on it. I've had this amp for over a year now too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them. So can't comment on that.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing for 2 years now.. I play everyday for at least an hour or two. I have played through many, many amps and I have found this one to be really good for such a small/relatively cheap amp. I would probably buy it again, but I could use some more power, especially for the clean channel. I also own Ibanez Rx-40, which also sounds pretty good through this amp.. but ofcourse, can't compare that to the Strat. Right now I'm looking for a multi-effect device, and then later on for a bigger amp.

But it's all good, I like this amp, it's relatively loud and has big variety of differet sounds. If you're looking for an affordable solid-state amp, you should check this one out...

40 Watts into 10-inch super-duty Blue Marvel? speaker, Two footswitchable channels-Clean and Lead, 3-band EQ per channel, Boost and Thrash switches on Lead channel, Input pad switch, External speaker jack, Reverb with level control, Preamp out, no headphone output

Sound Quality : 8
Great for a beginner like me who's just looking for clean, warm sounding amp, not too pricey but sounds good and has enough features to keep things interesting. I play Rock/Pop Rock/Soft Rock on a Carvin DC127T with this amp and it does a very good job covering all three types of music. Tried a Marshall 30 Watt Valvestate and this one sounds so much better to me that I can barely put the guitar down. I use the lead channel most of the time as it gives me a wider sound variety from clean to brutally distorted although it is a little bit noisier than the clean channel.

Reliability : 8
Looks very well made. Should be able to handle a small sized room with no problems. No plans to perform live yet, though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had the opportunity to call up the company.

I've been playing for approx. half a year and I've never had so much fun playing until I bought this electric guitar and this amp (had an acoustic guitar previously). I just wish that it had a headphone jack for those late night playing times. If it were lost or stolen I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.

two channnels, one for clean with low, mid, high parametic eq and another with distortion on(and a mid boost) it with low and high control. it has a reverb, two inputs, a preamp out, a headphone out, channnel switching pedal input, and.. i don't know.. that's about it

Sound Quality : 7
clean channel's got a pertty good sound, but i just felt like too much bass going on. the distortion channnel is so funky that i have to change the eq to get that right sound every single time. i just sound so different everytime. it might because of the weather and some other environment stuff. it is such a pain.
i use a korean made cort, les paul copy with ibanez js100 guitar's pickup(Axis Humbucker?) and a gcb95 wahwah pedal most of time and i
have a quite limited sound variation. this amp is quite steady but, as price-wise, very limiting.. (well, what can yiu expect from a
200$ amp? duh...)

Reliability : 7
i had for 5 years of hell traveling and still sounding good. just except for that reverb cabinet inside the amp got busted and producing a incredible amount of noise. it's so loud, i can't even talk on the phone right beside the amp on! And, should not use this amp for more than 2-3 hours. you can feel this amp is falling apart.
sounding very differ. just use it at home if you can.

Customer Support : No Opinion
where is it?

Overall Rating : 7
it's alright for 200$. bit, if you have a chance to look up some others or even add up some more that green stuff, buy something else.
it does have a nice clean sound and with some pickup modification(heights and variating), it does have a nice warm sound.
it's NOT a junk but, has good chances to be one. beware!

This amp is more or less a "first half decent amp after the 12W practice thing" kind of amp. It has two independent channels, each with seperate EQ's which is nice. There is one reverb which doesn't have much depth and left on full, gives a short room reverb which does the job! There is a 20db pad for high level inputs. On the clean side, the sound is quite bog-standard! The clean is not particularly interesting but does the job.

As for the lead channel...3-band EQ, pre-gain (drive) and post-gain (master volume). There are also two buttons..one for a big gain boost and another for a mid-range scoop.

This amp is marketed as the amp for metal as opposed to stuff like the fender amps at this price range..In this capacity, it has enough features to make it good for experimentation but the overall quality is not good enough to really take from the bedroom.

It clocks in at 40W which is not quite powerful enough for stage use but good for practise. The newer models have peavy custom speakers in it which are 10" (I think) but lacks the defenition required when quality counts!

There is a headphone socket, pre-amp out (for direct into desks etc..) and a speaker jack for connection to a speaker cab.\

Sound Quality : 7
I use the amp now with a epiphone lespaul standard with a dimarzio evolution in the bridge. My style is quite heavy and the drive on the amp couldn't quite keep up so I bought some outboard effects (zoom 4040) to give it the kick. With the pedalboard in front of the amp, it gave a quite reasonable practice sound at low volumes but broke up abit when the volume was increased!

The clean channel is virtually silent but the lead channel is quite noisy but not overly so for the high-gain type of thang!

Reliability : 9
Had a small problem with the jack socket once (which was probably my fault) but was fixed with a swift wave of a soldering iron! Other than that, its been thrown all over the place for the past 3 years and is still in perfect nick!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed the mighty peavy with this one!

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing now for about 4 years and this was my second amp. It took me from my 20W Kustom practice amp up to bigger and louder things! I tried it on stage once and it worked but sounded a little weedy. SO I recommend it as a practice amp but not for the gigging musician looking for a main backline!

If this amp was nicked i wouldn't have any great loyalty to it but at that kind of price, there's nothing much better! I would consider the Laney LC15 or perhaps the bit extra for one of the higher model peavy's (bandit etc..)

I compared the amp with a fender champion (i think it was) but I was looking for a more metal sound rather that the light classic drive.

If this amp had a better quality speaker, deeper reverb, SUPPLIED FOOTSWITCH (quite annoying) then it would be slightly better. However, i'd rather pay the 20-50 pounds extra and get a peavy bandit or one of the other higher models!

Well, this amp is made in America so that's an automatic plus. This amp is pretty good for a small gig. I play mostly rock, heavy metal and trash (metallica & stuff) and this amp delivers! This amp has the regular features of a good amp: the clean part equalization, volume, pregain, lead part equalization, post gain, channel selector and reverb. So all in all there are only 2 channels. In addition, it also has a 6 dB PAD switch that reduces that level of the input signal by 6 decibels. Then there is the best part: the trash switch which is, I would assume, the greatest feature for all metal players out there. It kicks it up a notch and gives us that powerful, distorted, very metallic crunch feel. It also has the external speaker jack, preamp out for mixing console, tape recorder and stuff, and remote switch jack at the back. I use all of its features and right now, I don't wish anything added to this amp. I have my own multi-effect so I'm just fine. When I'm lazy and don't want to connect my multi-effect, the amp's own effect can carry over and I can live with it. If you are having a concert, I won't recommend this to you. Like I said, this is good for practice and small gigs. Not a lot of switches and knobs but it makes up with the delivery. I am rating this with the best amps around so don't worry about my low rating. It's a pretty decent amp and I'm quite satisfied with it. This is a transtube series and uses transtube technology. Real nice.

Sound Quality : 7
I use a RG270 Ibanez which is, in my opinion, a great guitar for my type of music which is metal. It has a floyd rose tremolo system and an h-s-h configuration. This amp really gives what I want. The clean channel provides well, a good clean channel. I use is for clean rhythms and clean leads and it sure can do the job!! The lead channel is where I was really impressed. Like I said, it's trash button is just awesome and blows me away. Not as good as the Marshalls and MesaBoogies but as a practice amp, it's still good in it's own way. It has an original feel to it. Good for blues too with a little tweaking. It gives off some noise when in the lead channel but the 6 dB pad switch cuts some if it off. I don't care much about the noise, though cause I can always use the noise suppressor in my BOSS ME-30, which is a great multi-effect. Not much variety, the main effects are just the clean, blues, dirty blues, medium distortion and metal. With tweaking, you may get some more. But it is a fairly simple equipment. The clean channel doesn't overdrive in high volumes and that's great. I haven't tried the maximum, though. My neighbors might throw stones in my house. The distortion... I like it in a way that it is different from other generic distortions. It can be brutal at times and bluesy if the gain is lowered. The noise is the only problem for me.

Reliability : 8
So far, it hasn't let me down on gigs. I don't think I would use a back-up on it on small gigs but I haven't tried it yet on a major gig of some sort. A beginner to intermediately-advanced player can depend on it. I trust it to deliver.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't tried to contact them cause I haven't had any problem yet.

Overall Rating : 6
I'm twenty years old and I've been playing for six years already. Like I've said, I have an Ibanex RG270 and an BOSS ME-30 along with this Envoy 110 Transtube. It is a very good combination for a small set. It gives me the trash feel that I expect and crave for. If it were lost or stolen, I probably buy something else cause I always want to try new stuff. Probably a bigger one too with more effects to it. I like it to correlate with my progress. I would still use it though if I buy another amp. I don't really have anything to hate in this amp. I'm quite satisfied.
