The amp was custom built in 2003. Has normal and bright channels. All pretty basic. A particular nice feature that it has over most tweeds is an adjustable bias supply for easy biasing. It has everything it is supposed to have and then some for it was configured to replicate the old tweed amps of the late fifties.

I use a 57 Reissue Custom Shop Les Paul and a 56 Reissue Custom Shop Strat and both sound outstanding through this amp. Obviously, it is built for clean, loud and punchy sound....it has a very "fat" sound to it also. The two 12" Weber Speakers sound even better than the original Jensen P12N's that they used to put in the late 50's Fender Twins. The amp can distort to but you have to push it to 6 & 1/2 or so to get any. I have an array of pedals and they work very well with this amp. The amp has no hum at all....nice and quiet.

This amp is built with the best parts, best wood, construction.....great schematic. I can't imagine I'd ever have any problems at all. None so far and I doubt that there will ever be.

You can contact Penn Instrument by email or telephone. Either way, they respond quickly to any questions or problems you might have. The warranty is a "lifetime" warranty........the best in the business. I have even spoken with Billy Penn myself with questions regarding the equipment.......very personable.

I have been playing for about 37 years....15 years professionally. I've had blackface fender amps-back in the sixties, a tweed fender amp, Marshalls-made in late sixties and early seventies, Ampeg, Kendrick, A Fender Vibro King, A Fender Vibro Verb and a few I won't even mention but this is the best built, finest sounding 2X12 Combo Amp I have ever owned! If it was lost or stolen, I would definitely order another.....it's pricey but worth every penny!
