SMOOTH!!!! Not harsh in any sense. Cuts though a mix splendidly unmiked. When miked changing the EQ to a darker tone works very well, also spendid! The reason for backing off the EQ some when miked is to reduce the PA's horn glare. Dynamic mics usually have a peak at 1K or so too. Incredible sound!! Best amp ever, but use a great sounding guitar because the amp is revealing of your instruments natural tone. Sounds like a Tweed Bandmaster meets an old Vox AC-15. This is due to a Fender style circuit, but with no negative feedback loop like tube Vox. Tubes used:
Driver stage: RCA 12ay7.
Tone stages: (x2) Jan/Phillips 12ax7
Output Tubes: (x2) RCA 5881
Rectifier: Weber VST Copper Cap WV4

No problems yet and I don't expect any. It's hand built, point to point, great craftsmanship.

This amp is used in live Pro situations three times a week.
I can't wait to see how she records.
The parts used in this amp are grade A++++. Mercury Magnetics transformers, Ricon resistors, Sprague and Multicap caps. WeberVST Silver Bell 12" driver (speaker). Etc, etc....
Cosmetics should also be mentioned.... I had Billy stain this one a bit darker than usual for that Vintage Tweed look. It's gorgeous!!!
