I think it was made in 2002. The amp is not so versatile. we can say that it let play the guitar: it'll make you hear the real voice of your instrument. For me it's the best, cause i play jazz with carved jazzboxes. My model is the one for bass (but the circuit it's the same) so it has one channel, with treble, middle, bass and volume. It has a switch for + or - gain, two inputs (hi and lo) 2 speaker out (4 ohm) and one main (for a monitor, only preamp signal). It has the effect loop with volume for dsend and return. The only thing i need is a footswitch to change -gain to +gain, because it's like a boost. Also a reverb, but the one for guitar it has it. The power is 120w and with the Raezer's Edge Twin 8 is more than enough. Obviously it's solid state.

For jazz i think it's one of the best, very clean, very precise and detailed, i can say that is main feature is to don't have "personality": it does't colour your sound. If you think that tube amp are too "alive" it's your choice.

As the other, i think that it's a problem at the Polytone: i can't find any information on the web and they give the manual and the schematics of the minibrute and the taurus!

As i said, for jazz is the best(but probably not only for the jazz). I had combos and mega-rack, but this little box is my favourite at all!
