I used it w/ my RG570s w/ Dimebuckers/ Bill Lawrence XL-500. This is NOT the amp Dime used on VDP & FBD...I have a photo to prove it. He used the Century 200, NOT the 200-II. I bought this because I thought it was the correct head...boy was I shown differently. The mids are impossible to dip out enough...even w/ the PQ-4 & MXR 6-band before the head. DON'T get suckered into this one...find a Century 200 instead...the latest review poster is lucky he doesn't have the 200-II.

Depends on who you get when you call...sometimes you'll get someone trying to boast up their new lines...sometimes you'll get an honest representative who'll tell you that since Randall was bought out the quality just hasn't been the same.

I've been playing for over 13 yrs. I have too much gear to get into here....the important thing is that people know the truth. DIME USED THE CENTURY 200,...NOT THE 200-II.

Randall Centery 200. Mine doesn't say II. I just got it for $200 from guy in Portland. All I know is that Dime played it in Vulgar and a couple other albums so I wanted to try it out. I just spent a hour jamming and I love it. My underpants are wet. This thing is creamy and rich with butterscotch notes dripping on salty buns. I used to have a Soldano Hot Rod amp, because I thought that was the cream of the crop, and this Randall is better. I'm all metal and Randall is the amp for me. No dialing in to find the sweet spot because it's all sweet.

I have a Gibson Gothic Explorer with Zakk Wylde EMG active pickups. I use Elixir Heavy Gauge 52-12 strings. Cabinet is a 2*12 custom made cab with 1 3/8 thick wood and I think it has celeston 30's in it. Some guy in North Carolina named Splaw made it. That's it. This set up Squeeels the notes hard. This Randall amp with my set up is the sound I've been looking for. No longer do I have (GAS) Gear Aquisition Syndrome. No pedals anymore. You just don't need all that crap. Maybe an original Boss OD-1 Overdrive pedal if you want that 70's softer sound.

I guess this amp was made in the early 90's. I play heavy rock and it has enough balls to do what I want. It has all the goodies in it...FX Loop, headphone jack, two channels, but technically I can crank five channels of gain, with the sustain button as well. I never use it clean, although I do use about half of its gain potential...because I use the BOSS bass overdrive and Tech 21 XXL distortion pedals. I use this amp in small clubs and venues, but it is definitely ballsy!

I use an array of guitars, mostly junk. But the sound is thick and very warm. I dig it. I do use a BBE Sonic Maximizer though. I would highly suggest getting one of these babys for any solid state amp, especially this beast. I love this thing.

I bought this thing on a whim, and I lucked out because it is a great amp for what it is capable of doing and the price. I see others have paid over $600 for this thing, I guess I was lucky. GREAT AMP RANDALL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

This amp was made in the early nineties. I can get almost any tone I need to get for almost any style of music. I mostly play metal and blues so it works extremely well. it has two channels, with separate volume controls, which is great because I have active EMG-81'S on my ibanez, i rarely use the distortion on the amp because of the effects that i use. i use this amp for everything, recording, practicing, playing gigs, and sofourth. this amp has a horrendus amount of power for being solid state also, it easily pushes my two cabinets with four twelves in each

I have a Ibanez PRO line series with EMG 81'S and a Floyd rose tremalo that makes my sound great, I will always stick to active electronics. This amp is perfect for heavy metal, which is mostly what play. There really isn't a soft side to this amp. You can crank the volume and it stays so clean. And the distortion is killer!!

This amp was made in the early 90's. Incredibly versatile for realy low metal sounds(anthrax, pantera) to soft channel with eq. Channel switching, and efects loop. i had owned a Randall RG100 previously and I will state I enjoyed it much more. It had better tone and better sustain. Yet both amps hve plenty of power

I am using a ESP Custom 7 string. I will never play anything else. Seymor Duncans in it and quality craftsmanship as well. Once you play them your hooked. Fast action, and lots of fun. I keep my highs high at 3/4 and my mids at 1/3, lows are always at full blast. The distortion is fabulous and the eq makes it versatile.

This amp is a solid state head rted at something like 120 watts (I think). Two channels with reverb and separate eq's for each. Dirty channel has a cool "sustain boost" switch that cuts the out put level a little, but makes the amp sound like it's cranked and driving two 4x12 cabs.

I play mainly heavy metal and hardcore with this amp in smaller venues (less than 500 person capacity) and it works excellently. My main axe is the "J." model Iceman, this guitar is a beast with some fairly hot pickups, there just like some of the hot Duncans. The amp gets almost just enough distortion. I would like a thicker sound but this amp still sounds cool. For an example listen to Pantera's "Vulgar Display of Power" or "Far Beyond Driven", this is the amp on those records. Dime runs them a little different, he runs at least three heads at on time to get his signature sound at the volumes he wants. It has a little bit of that Marshall characteristic, not a lot of overdrive but just enough to get by with. If you play like crap you won't be able to cover up the mistakes. The clean channel is pretty O.K. I crank all the gain up on it and it is actully good for playing some dirty blues. I honestly use anamp switcher and another amp entirely to get my clean sound. Over all I want a little more low end balls out of the amp. But it gets nice an buzzy like the aforementioned Pantera. It works for the reason I bought the amp. I'll be honest with you I'm currently working closley with Mike Holland himself of Holland amps to build me a custom head that is going to be ballsier and beefier than the Mesa Tripple Recto, the Soldano SLO, the VHT or Rivera anything!!! All those amps are great but none of them had the truely unique sound I was looking for (the reason I went with the Randall). But now I'm going custom and my new amps will be single channel monsters (remember I use amp switching for my clean sound). They will do vintage light overdrive all the way to Hell's gate being ripped apart. Ultra-mega high gain is not even a strong enough discriptor. Mike says he will probably make this amp one of his production models and it will be his only high gain amp that he will offer so look for it soon on his web site (hollandamps.com). Sorry for the ramble but I have to be honest and point out the shortcomings of the Randall, but I still love this amp!!

I bought this head off of J from White Zombie after he started mixing Mesa Boogie Tripples in with his Randalls, so I got it well used. As I said no troubles and have never tried to contact Randall, but I know that my amp was built before Washburn bought Randall so I don't know what kind of supprt I would get.

I bough tthis amp from J because I liked the sounds he was getting with it live. I haven't recorded anything but demos with this amp, and won't use it in the studio because of the lack of low end, but live this amp is pretty cool, you can get the full tone of the amp even at reasonable bedroom volumes and this amp does have a kind of unique sound to it. Even though I am having a custom amp built I still would not want to lose or get rid of my Randall and I would by one of the same period if I could find one. This amp may not be for everone, but I don't want to sound like everyone.
