late 70s early 80s randall commander 6 its the same amp as the commander 2 and 4, but with a sealed 6x10 cabinent. Its the second lagest combo amp ive ever seen, next to the fender that it emulates. It has 2 chanels and 2 inputs for each chanel. chanel one is the clean chanel and numder 2 is the distorted chanel. It has tremelo, and reverb on chanel 2, which are turned on and off by a foot switch. it also has a gain boost that is controled by pulling the master vol knobout. my maincomplaint is that randal did'nt install a third button on the foot switch to switch between chanels so I diddent have to buy a A B box. also the 10 inch speakers kind of sound like they were made out of coffie filters (but in a good way)

Sound Quality : 6
i use ALOT of differant guitars but the best setting for this amp is my 77 sting ray 1 that i dropped dimarzio "tone zone" pickups into. the style that this guitar is best suited for is 60s - 70s garrage rock because of the muddy distortion and sloppy warm clean tones. the amp looses alot of bottom in larger rooms and i recommend that it be mic'ed. the amp is good cranked, it's clean chanel distrorts very little getting up around 8 or 9

Reliability : 5
the amp has never broaken down, but its had some cosmetic coasters that came of with the greatest of ease and the entire cab is made of partical board so one night under a leaky pipe would spell disater

this amp is pretty tame in all aspects, its trying to be to many things at once. Its a solid state fender twin on steriods with alot of features (for the period in wich it was made). Still it dosn't have the warmth and tone of a tube amp, and neither dose it have the cruchiness and gain of a typical solid state so it is a evolutionary missing link in amp designe. That even withstanding it's short comeings makes this amp worth having.
