Features : 10
made 2006

gain, bass, mid, treble, level, gain boost switch, mid voice switch. I am really liking the versatility with this module.

The eq is very reactive, and with the mid switch alot of range. THe gain knob is prety useful, although I hit what I can the gain wall at about 7 where any more dain is simply silly buildup of distortion.

THe gain boost to me sounds similar as to if you placed a TS-9 infront of the amp for a bout say a 10 db boost. It tightens up the sound a bit.

The module is in the watt watt Randall head along with a MR. Scary module.

Sound Quality : 10
the gain in this module is crazy silly, I have changed out the stock tubes with 2 sovtek 12ax7LPS tubes, and changed the VI preamp tueb in the head itself to a SOvtel 5751, this move gave me a very tight overdrive and gain structure, and also made the gain knob more versatile, so where now gain on 1 is pretty clean, to jsut breaking up, and I don't hit the gain wall until 8 to 9. THe gain itself is very smooth, and detailed, I have not trouble covering all the modern gain sounds. with ease, especially with the mid switch, which changes the frequency of the control one set in the upper mids, I;d say around 800hz, the other is set low say 200hz range.

Reliability : No Opinion
I think the item will be very realiable. It is used in a non smoking studio.

heh, lets jsut not go here, all kinds of problems getting the module here from US Music Randall's parent company. IT and the Mr. Scary modules both. big mess, lets just say when they needed to run for a touchdown they fumbled it away.

Overall Rating : 9
Ithink this is a great module very versatile, and has a great tone to it, I use it in my studio, which sees all kinds of bands/artists come through its doors, for my own peresonal use it is progressive music covering the range from new age to metal. I have been able to get good tones at all gain and volume levels with the amp and module.

3 EQ channels Bass Mid Treble, Gain Booster, Mid Voicing switch... Very versitile compared to the other modules, I wish they have more options like this on the other regular modules put out by Randall...

Sound Quality : 10
I run a RM100M 3 channel preamp based of the egnater preamps. I have the clean, ultra, recto, and the 1086. The 1086 preamp is a very versitile preamp compared to all the preamps i own and have tried. The mid voicing feature on this preamp is very cool you can go from a rectifier sound to a hotrodded Marshall sound. I compared it to the other modules I have and pound for pound it kicked there asses! I ran a ESP Eclipse II loaded with emgs, and a Les Paul loaded with Seymour Duncans. I use Electro Harmonix 6L6EH tubes. I am going to try my EL34s and see how it sounds w/ those. Believe the money is well worth it...

Reliability : 10
Just got it haven't had any problems yet!

I have emailed Randall about some of the products and got a very quick response back. They are very helpful in answering questions.

I have been playing for quite sometime and tried out a bunch of different stuff. I used to own a marshall TSL100, and did not like it, I also owned a Peavey triple X and the sound compared to the Randall is quite different. It is not as compressed sounding as the Triple X, and I just never cared for Marshall Amplication... I used to be a effects processor junkie and use pedal distortion before owning these amps. Tube distortion kicks ass! I am very satisfied w/ Randall Amplifiers and Egnater design..
