I dont know when it was made, the one I have is the Pro Tube 2000 II (second edition I guess). It is one of the best I've ever tryed before for heavy metal... this amp will make you feel you are dimebag. It comes with 2 channels. the power on this amp is amazing but like every randall it will not be the better sound for playing in a low volume. Volume 10 = the best. its a peace of art.
I just changed tubes on this baby cause the previous one where originals (around 1992) the features on this amp are pretty good for the year it was made.

the brutal sound on this baby is just what a guitar player with influeneces like Dimebag will be looking for, it shakes my 1500 sqft house on 1/2 way volume... unfortunally its a rare and hard-to-find amp. equals messaboogie or any marshall out there but like I just mentioned on las topic... not very good for low volumes. I have a washburn st-2 with a dimebucker... love it.
I also have a 1979 Hondo II with a seymour duncan 59 and in the bridge and I was lucky that my ex brother in law know's seymour duncan so Mr. duncan made a custom pick up for this guitar wich sounds better than anything out there, it makes my Hondo roar like a hotroad. I think this amp was made for heavy/trash/death Metal.
never tryed it on a big place so I dont know how it sounds for live concerts but in my garage sounds very very good.

let me explain this really quick... I just changed tubes last week so they lasted for almos 15 yrs. and I also changed a transistor but it was burned because of the tubes. so this means that the first time it broke down was almost 15 yrs. after it was build. now YOU give me an opinion about this amp.

I've been playing for 7 yrs. I own this amp and 2 small ones, 4 guitars and a boss GT-6 pedal effect. If it get stolen I'll haunt that motherfu***r and breake his neck and if I have to buy something else I will look for the same amp.

I am currently using a custom made guitar i made in highschool, housed with Seymour Duncan pickups and a Dimarzio shockwave preamp. All i can say about the distortion is i play out allover with other bands that use the Mesa-Boogie Rectifier and this amp smokes them hardcore night after night period

I bought this amp brand new was the last one from the factory and also discontinued at the time(why i'll never know)have had zero problems..however the amp was sent to a specialist once for retouch on some bad solder joints,By the way Sylvania 6l6's make this amp roar even louder...
