made in 2005,good looking straight front 412,I like the straight front as it means the top is bigger than a slant style (duh!)because you can stack deeper rack gear on it nicely.I took the back panel off to have a look(another good feature) and it is indeed 7 ply sheeting 5 thick/2 thin surface or 3/4in if you like.Truly void free. There is no baffling,or insulation here which brings out the mids I think, and I hate mids.Oh yeah its loaded with celestion seventy/80s=more mids! I haven't looked in too many cabs, but my carvin seems a little more heavy duty, maybe cause it has a plywood cross baffle and insulation. The CXM is lighter like a Marshall.

I've used lots thru it-Les Pauls,Axis, steinbergers into either digital modellers or tube heads,Tube amps and Trans.Played at least 20 hours at various volumes hoping break in would smooth it out a bit.But it's a Metal type 412 with those honking Chinese celestions. Although its wired 4ohms stereo 8ohms mono, for some reason when driving just one side(2 speakers),regardless of the ohms selector switch setting on power amp) the sound is fuller, warmer and overall better??? I dont know what the hells going on,but I'm thinkin of rewiring it for tru stereo in parallel 4ohms per side(truly separate sides).Which is what I thought the selector switch was for.WTF??

Even though I think this cab sounds like shit doesn't mean you will.Having said that I just bought new Eminence speakers and will be adding some cross bracing(doesn't really need it,but I'm picky and I'm diggin around in there anyways) side baffles and lots of insulation. Lets see-I spent 667.00cn or 500.00us tax in,compared to 1075.00cn+tax for a rectifier cab.No theres no prestige name on it and the resale may hurt, but I think I will end up with a better cab for le$$.As usual perception is everything. So if you find a used/cheaper one even better.I wouldn't hesitate to buy another and in fact 2 would be great sidebyside-for basically the price of one. rectifer.

This is a 2005 model. I play mostly experimental rock and roll, and this cab suits my style perfectly. I will be using this cab mostly in small clubs, and it will certainly have enough power for that. I just bought this cab, and am still feeling it out - but so far, i love it!

I am playing this cabinet through an old Laney AOR Pro Tube Lead, with a Les Paul copy. I use a Boss OD-3 pedal. It is so rich and full, and matches my bass heavy head with ease. I love that vintage Celestion sound, and I had my amp cranked for a bit, and it was sounding pretty good.

Since this is a new cab, I cannot really comment on this. It looks solid enough.

I have been playing guitar for around 5 years now. I've been in many travelling bands, but this is my first real 412 cabinet. I've always been playing combos mic'd. I've come from a Marshall Valvestate combo, which is bassicaly the same price as this cabinet. For me, the cabinet is so much nicer. I would be very sad is this amp were stolen. You cannot beat the price/value of this cabinet. For C$500, how could I complain?

I just want to make things clear, i presently own one of these Randall cabinet and it is really wired stereo@4 ohms and mono@8 ohms. It also have the switch at the back as any cab does. And the guy who sold me mine bought it new and i know he did not rewired it. No wonder Randall never replied!!!!!

This is, so far as I know, a new cabinet that they have produced. It is made of 7-ply Birch and sports four custom voiced (their terminology) 80 watt Celestion speakers. This gives the cab a 320 watt total handling power. It is wired at 8 ohms. For those who seek more info from Randall, please be aware of this fact. The catalog says that it is a stereo cabinet at 8 ohms mono and 4 ohms stereo. This cab is mono only. It does not have a stereo option. If you feel handy you can void warranty and make it stereo but on its own only plug one power source into it. I got curious because I noticed that there wasn't the normal mono/stereo switch on the back. I wanted to see how they wired it for it not to be necessary to have a manual switch. Sure enough when I removed the handles and looked beihnd the glorious red labeled Celestions, I saw mono wiring. I a have told Randall Amplifiers customer support about this but am not sure what they will do about it. None the less, I didn't need a stereo cab so I am all kinds of happy about this cab but I knock them a point for not being more careful with their descriptions.

I am using a custom built guitar made of maple and ebony w/ a single EMG 81 pickup in the bridge. In case that didn't tell you already, I am into metal style guitar and metal guitar driven indutrial/dance. I run (all connections with Monster Cables) into a POD Pro. Then into a Behringer DualFex (for bottom end enhancement). Next into a Behringer Composer Pro (compression, limiting and gating). From there I run into an old ADA Microtube 200. This cab handles it all and begs for more. Most guitar cabs weep at very idea of the low tones I desire from a speaker enclosure. Marshall, Line 6, etc. THey all woofed (bad thing) like mad. That is the very reason I started going "direct" (hence the POD pro) because the house PA did a better job than guitar cabs of producong the tone I wanted. This one dealt with it and kept it tight. I like this one. I have now gone back to guitar cabs because of this enclosure.

Just got it. No real opinion yet, but it handled my power amp at 3/4 power for 20 mins.

Easy to deal with but didn't seem eager to change the incorrect listing about the stereo option on this cab.

I can't wait to drown everyone out at practice with this newly aquired beast. I would defintely replace it if necessary. I want a second one anyway.
