I just want to note that Viktor Klobucar's review is SPOT ON. Jeff, who had a review suggesting he might want a Marshall 1960a will be making a grave mistake if he does that.
I recently purchased a 412JB straight cab for $200 and the other guitarist in my band who uses a Marshall cab can't even touch my tone, and I have a B-52 AT-100 head compared to either his Diezel or Hughes & Kettner head. I even played my AT-100 through a Marshall cab and it stunk. the tone was tinty, weak and borderline shrill. I don't know what all the hype is with Marshall, perhaps because they are the leading brand. But if you don't try a Randall cabinet, you are missing out.

I play a '04 Les Paul, '89 Clapton Strat (with mod pup config) and a Schecter C1-FR.
I play anything from funk and jazz to Pantera
Awesome cab, real tight response.

So far, so good. I had to replace the original casters as they were destroyed.

Been playing over 25 years (started very young)
I would be heart broken if I didn't have this cab, it helps define my tone and sets me apart from all the "Marshall" users out there.

These Randall cabinets were suggested to me by Phil Collen's own guitar tech, who mentioned how great they sounded. These late eighties 4x12 cabinet are loaded with Randall's own 12" Jaguar speakers. The speakers seem to be voiced after modern Celestions rather than the vintage tone and give a broad voice overall. The cloth like covering of the cabinet seems to hold up better and be more forgiving then standard thin tolex as used on most cabinets. Could be deemed a little too "eighties" but is hardly noticeable on stage. Cabinet handles and corners are of all metal construction unlike the plastic as used by most other companies.
Cabinet was factory wired to mono though I rewired it to true stereo to fully take advantage of my FX rack. Had it been manufactured with a factory installed stereo/mono switch I could have rated this cabinet even higher.
A metal grill as seen on the new Randall's (as owned by Washburn) would be a plus as well.
My effects rack consists of the following gear:
-Furman PL-8 Power Conditioner
-Alesis Datadisk
-Samson Concert IV Wireless
-Sabine RT-1601 Rack Tuner
-Marshall JMP-1
-Marshall JFX-1
-Loft 440
-Digitech TSR-24S
-BBE 422
-Rocktron HUSH IICX
-Randall RRM-2-220
Guitars are all various Charvel/Jacksons strung with 11?s.

The interior of these cabinets puts every other manufacture to shame especially the all-famous Marshall cabinets. The void free ply is top quality and as an added bonus the Randall cabinet is actually four separate compartments rather than a large open cabinet like a Marshall per say. This is perhaps the finest feature of the Randall?s in that they grant you a tight and focused low end as opposed to that "fart like" boom you hear so often with many other makes of cabinets.
I recently purchased a small 1x10 Randall to use at home as the 4x12 is much to loud for residencial use. Even the small Randall is as solidly built as it's larger cousin as sounds great as well. Makes for a top notch recording cabinet as well.
I will soon purchase a second 4x12 to run a true "wide stereo" configuration.

Randall has always been great to deal with. When I purchased this cabinet on ebay and had it shipped from Georgia to Canada it arrived with no faceplate. "No problem" stated the rep and true to his word he sent me on free of charge!
That's great customer service in my opinion!

These "sleeper" cabinets may not have then famous Marshall name but other than that they are a far cry better than most famous brands due to fit and finish. I will not hesitate to pick up yet another if the price is right. Given that Marshall's are a "dime a dozen" where I live and the fact that I had a Randall shipped all the way from Georgia instead speaks of the quality of these cabinets.

This cab sounds amazing. It has soem really tight lows while maintaining mids and trebles as well. It makes everything sound great, even a solid state. I love this cab, and i am searching for an old 2x12 like it right now to add for home use.

This is a good studio cabinet for recording, or a mic-ed performance. I've been using this for practice/recordings/live performance. I've had the cab for 3 years now, the first 2 years played through a Fender Roc pro 1000, and the past year through the Marshall JCM 2000 TSL.

My axe is a '95 Gibson Les Paul Studio with the factory 490R & 498T P/Up's. I play Pop/Punk "Blink 182/Weezer" stuff. With the Roc Pro, this cab gave me an all around good sound but it wasn't as full and deep as a tube amp. With the Marshall this cab has a good sound with a lot of bass when it's cranked up, but I've noticed that with the thicker distortion sound through this cab, my sound has become uni-directional. This cab only sounds good when ya stand right in front of it. The lows are totally lost when you get out from right in front. The clean is beautiful on it with both heads, but that's probably just the 498T singing out. The low on my clean gets a little buzzy when played loud, but the LP also buzzes on my low E cause my action's really low.

This cab was a real steal when I got it, and suited my needs at the time. I've been thinking about upgrading to a Marshall JCM900 1960A, and keeping my Randall hooked up to my Roc Pro for home practice. If it got lost or stolen I'd be sad, but I much rather have a Marshall, or a Mesa/Boogie for the right price.
