The clean on this amp is great. Distortion one is kinda weak, but distortion two is Death Metal heavy. Brutal Metal sounds at your command. This is the best amp you can get for Metal.

I'm not really sure what year the amp was made. I play Heavy Metal and it is just about perfect, although I would rather have a Mesa, it works. There is three channels, clean, overdrive 1, and overdrive 2. Overdrive 2 is great for Pantera,Metallica, and Slayer. It also has chorus. It comes with a footswitch, and has an effects loop and headphone jack. This amp has all of the features I need cause i play rythem. I use the chorus alot when I play clean. I use this amp at practice and gigs. This amp is very loud for a solid state amp, but the 2X12's lose bass when turned up loud, it needs a 4X12.

I play an ESP Rs-200 with 2 emg hz humbuckers. Like I said, I play Metal and it's great for it. The amp is noisy when you put the level and master past 5, let me refraise, the feedback is terrible on just about any setting. With the drive channels you can go anywhere from Blue Oyster Cult to Pantera. The clean stays clean with the volume all the way up. The distortion is so brutal it sounds like a person walking over a bunch of bones and having them crush under there feet, it's that good.

This amp weighs a ton! I need to put wheeles on it,But it's built like a tank. I think I could gig with it without a backup. Ive had it for 3 weeks and it hasent broken down, but the covering on the face of the amp did get pushed out, I don't know how.

Ive been playing for 2 1/2 years, I have an ESP guitar, Dunlop wah pedal, and a DS-1 distortion(it sucks). If it were stolen I would find the person and beat him. If it were lost I would wheep for a week then try to find the money to buy another one or a used Mesa on Ebay. I love the contour switch it's awsome. Nothing I really hate. I compared it to a Crate, a Marshall, and Fender and none hade the sound I was looking for, for the price. If you play heavy metal and only have $400-$500 to spend BUY THIS AMP you wont regret it.

Solid-state 100W (the Randall literature states that this is a 75-Watt amp, but that is a typo) 2x12 Combo. Two "different" overdrives that sound really similar, and a clean channel. I didn't really want stereo chorus, but that wasn't an option. I'm glad, though, because the chorus sounds great. Not particularly versitile, but VERY well suited to metal or hard rock. TONS of gain on the gain2 channel, comparable to the sound of a Boss MetalZone. The amp is intended to be a "no-frills" type model, but for me, it is a complete setup (I have abandoned my ol' RP-7 in favor of the sound of the amp by itself). I use this amp for both practice sessions and performances (small gigs). It seems to hold its own in terms of both sound quality and volume, but you will probably want to plug it into a 4x12 if you really need to open it up, or if you want a lot of bass in your sound; the Celestion "Red Label" speakers don't handle bass too well at high volume...Not enough to get a good "scooped" sound with the master volume above 5.
All in all, there isnt much left to be desired in terms of features. Some amps are adding digital multi-effects now, but NOT having that is a feature for me. I don't like lots of effects, and I really wanted an amp that would be reliable, not packed with processors. Still, this is a headbangers-only amp, so I can't give it more than an 8.

Im playing a 1999 Gibson Les Paul with a Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge and the stock gibson pickup at the neck. This amp really gets that "Justice" Metallica sound...I cant believe it's solid state! Dial in just a little chorus and reverb, and youve got a really kickass tone. On a side note, it took a lot of tweaking to get my Jackson Dinky Pro to produce a similar sound. This seems to indicate that the amp lets the sound of the guitar come though a little better.
I noticed that the Mesas always sound the same despite the guitar or the player. The sound was totally sterile and had zero expression; this is definitely not the case with the Randall.
Infinitely more quite than my Marshall VS65R, and about 1000 times the gain, too. Produces enough volume to drown out even *my* drummer, but like I said, if you want a lot of low end at high volumes, you're gonna want to add a 4x12. The clean channel sounds great, espically with the lush chorus. I was gonna get a Boogie, but I plugged into this, and it has just as much gain as the single recto combo, but is like 1/4 the price! If you play metal, this amp is a perfect 10, anything else, probably more like a 5.

Doesn't feel quite as sturdy as my Marshall was, and the covering is soft and is easily damaged. Survived several gigs thus far with no problems which is a lot more than I can say for the three other amps that I have trashed in the past. The cabnet feels pretty sturdy, but that covering really sucks. Both my Marshall and my ART (do they still make those?) were always having problems with the tubes dying, fuses blowing, and transformsers sparking. Having a solid-state amp will hopefully be less problematic.
Roughly the same warranty as the Marshall (5 yr), so I hope that it will last at least as long as the marshall did (exactly 5 years). I think it will, but I have to take off a few points for the crappy (but slick-looking) covering.

Havent dealt with Randall yet, but if I do, the experience can't be any worse than getting my other amps fixed. The store I bought it at is authorized to repair any amp that you purchase from them, so that will hopefully be a good save-all.

Ive been playing oldschool metal for 9 years, and I have aquired a plethora of gear in that time. I have gone through a myriad of different setups, but my current one is my all-time favorite: just my Les Paul and my Randall, not even a noise-reducer.
Lost or stolen? Yeah, Id buy it again, and for only $400, it wouldn't hurt too bad. I can't imagine getting a sound this good out of anything else.
I love the fact that the amp contains only features that you will use, and you will probably use them extensively. I hate that this amp weighs 61 pounds and yet they put a little strap-like handle on it like you can just carry it around with one hand; they really should have put two recessed handles on it like on a cab so that you can use both hands. Some wheels on the bottom would also be nice; nothing a trip to Ace can't fix.
Still, I had to dig pretty hard to find something that I didn't like, I think I still have to say that it gets a 10, just because of that killer overdrive! On second thought, no I have to give it a 9.5 because I am not really happy with that flimsy apholstry; maybe ill re-cover it someday after it starts looking worn.

The Randall RG100SC pushes 100 watts through 2x12 Celestion 7080 speakers. It has 3 channels: Gain 1 (Overdrive), Gain 2 (Lead), and Clean tone. The Gain 1&2 have their own bass, middle, treble, contour, and level. The clean tone has bass, treble, middle, and level. It's also equipped with a master reverb and volume. And last but definately not least it has an awesome built in stereo chorus. There are also plug-ins in the back for the Randall pedal for the channel switching/stereo chorus/reverb. It also has right/left line outs and a headphone jack.

The clean tone is awesome especially with the stereo chorus on. And it stays crisp and clean with the volume cranked, thanks to the Celestions. The reverb is ok, it could have been better. The Gain 1 is kinda weak even with the level turned up. The Gain 2, however, is "jump up and kick you in the face" cool. Nice crunchy lead and allows for very nice harmonics. I can get the Pantera/Metallica sounds I want from it (w/out a multifx pedal). I use a Jackson Performer PS-4 guitar and run it through a Zoom 505 (Yes I know it the 505 isn't all that) but it sounds really good through the amp. I'm able to get all the sounds I want such as Pantera/Metallica/Iced Earth and many more. This amp is a good stage amp and would sound great miked in the studio.

This amp is hardcore heavy duty! It weighs about 80 lbs. It looks like it could take a beating. My friend has a Marshall Valvestate 65 watt combo and it doesn't even match up to this one. Pantera uses Randall amps and they survive every concert!

I've been playing for about 5 years now and I've played through Crate, Marshall, and Peavey amps and this one I must say is one of the best I've ever jammed on. If it was stolen I'd kill to get this one back! For the price you CANNOT beat this combo. 100 watts, 2x12 Celestion 7080 speakers, stereo chorus, reverb, awesome distortion, and durability! You decide for yourself, I already have!
