I'm not really gonna get into the features of this amp because I know the other reviewers have already done that, so I'm just gonna describe the basics. You basically have 2 channels, clean and distortion, there's no switch to change channels you just have to adjust the gain pots. Then you've got a 3-band EQ, not bad but it could sound better. Then you've got the master volume, and then a headphone out. Very basic amp, all it's telling you to do is plug your damn guitar and play.

The thing I really like about this amp is that it's sound is somewhat unique compared to a marshall or "fill in the blank" amp, that obviously because this is a solid state amp, but Randall has a good rep in building the best sounding solid state amps. I use a cheap Epi SG with Duncan Performer p/ups, I run that through a Crybaby Wah and then to a Digitech RP100. The RP100 is the sound I use, I dont use the Randall amp's sound at all because I like the features and the sound of the RP100 a lot better, so I'm basically just using the Randall RG15 for power and for me to hear the RP100, and I gotta say the RG15's amp works great in doing that. But the Randall's clean and distortion sound is good also, but I would definitely recommend using a noise gate pedal.

I actually bought this amp in July 2003, but this model is old/discontinued. This thing was just sitting and collecting dust at this little music store near my house and I just asked the owner how much it was and he said $80 so I just bought it. My Randall RG15 has real old school look to it, it has the 10" speaker, and it's all black with the white lettering/decals. But I think it's very reliable, highly recommend it for the beginner or for the experienced player looking for a cheap but good practice amp.

I've been playing for more than 3 years, it was stolen I would definitely buy it again, but I dont think I would be able to find the exact model because its been discontinued. This thing is easy to lug around and sounds great when I run my Digitech RP100 through it.

I bought this amp new for $50 to use at rehearsals so I wouldn't have to lug my 2X12 combo around. It's a lightweight 1X10 combo with a green tolex covering and a cane grill. It features 2 preamp controls along with master volume, bass, mid and treble controls. The preamp controls are interactive with pre 1 providing a more warm distortion and pre 2 giving a more edgy distortion.

I use single coil pickups and play mostly classic rock. (mild to mid distortion) This little amp excells in this area. With both preamp controls at 10 o'clock and the master on 10 I can coax a great SRV clean tone out of it. With (pre 1) at 9 and (pre 2) at 5 I get a great Smithereens tone. Note: THIS AMP IS NOT FOR METALHEADS AND 7 STRINGERS! It's not designed for that. You will get some real unpleasant sounds if you push it too hard.

Metal, blues and funk, ala pantera-istic type Hooker,24/7spyz,c.o.c.This has got to be the most weakest, nasal sounding thing out there. No bottom end to it at all.Don't get me wrong,Randall amps usually rock like the 75 but this thing sucks hard.I've heard no-name 10 watters that kick the crap out of this.Might be good for that industrial junk but for metal or rock toss the thing out the window.Even for a practice amp there should be some punch and there isn't.I'll give it a three only because it has the good name of Randall on it and most of the time they kick all others in the butt.

Way to small to gig with. Now I will say that with most Randall products this thing is built to last.Solid as a rock.Just sounds like zzzzzzz.

The tone is nasal and weak.Industrial sounding zzzzzzzz crap.If stolen or lost I would not buy it again or hurt the person because they will suffer from the shear weakness of tone they will get.Now the big brothers of this thing are just great and I can't give them enough compliments. But give this thing to someone you don't like.Again a 3 for the name.

this is a solid state 15 watt amp with a 10" jag speeker..this amp would be the later model probably a 98. not a very versital amp its more ideal for indoor practice. pretty bland.

i play more heavy rock music the distortion therfore is more fuzzy type wich i dont like very much..maybe an equalizer can solve that problem. the clean especially wasnt any better. i dont think randall is best known for any clean stuff.i heard its known for picking up radio signals but hasnt happend to me...and it cranks pretty good it sounds best with reverb or in an enclosed, long, echoey room.

most solid state amps would last forever but mine on the other hand got fried (nave no idea what happend) just plugged it in and the switch was left on and started smoking..otherwise you should be careful with your amps!!

i been playing close to 3 years i dont really apreciate this amp. if it were stolen id say he aint gonna hock it for very much and laugh. this is just more ideal for the beginner who likes the fenderish tone. i bought this at the local music store for 120.bux wich i thought later was a total rip off! :( i could have boght a Crate gx15 and they are much much better and more versitle and they are dirt cheap! i seen them go as high as 75 bucks...another good, cheap, practice amp is a Kramer 15 watt combo go check em out and stay away from this one!!

I think its a '98, has two gain controls which you blend, bass, mid, treble and a Master. has great tone, mine is a green one with the simulated cane grill cloth and 10 inch speaker, going straight in, its a very tight little bugger, plug in a rat and it gets tighter! i got this for partice sos i wont have to keep turning my tube amps on n' off, this amp comes up almost instantly. i put a piece of a cardboard over the back to make it sound less mid rangy. will cut a piece of wood and put some insulation on it , will probably add a lot more to the bass and if i could find a used 10" celestion would love to pop one in her but the stock speaker stays tight almost all the way to full up.It serves my intended purpose for my guitar room and also sounds good recorded and has a headphone out on it to, i hear they made this w/reverb as well, right now musicians friend.com has them for $54.00 brand new get one while you can they are better than the new ones (they have a smaller speaker). They are very lite and compact, you can get a good clean sound but im a rocker and i like a little grit a multi effects pedal would be great thru this.

Lets see this is a 1997 AMP. I bought it to practice on. It has two channels. Not switchable that I know about and no effect loops. Real plain Jane. Headphone jack and line in are the only jacks on it.
If I could I would put a reverb(Available as RG15R) and a filter for static and hum. This thing is solid state. Has a dark green cover. I was told this was discontinued in 1998. Really looks sharp.

I use a Yamaha Pacifica...S/S/H, 2 singles and a bucker at the bridge. It is a strat replica with one tone control. I like to play rock and blues. Nice amp for the basics. I'm real new to electric guitar and am satisfied with the sound I get from this amp. Nice clean sound to a dirty scream are real possibilities on this amp. Don't expect too much though. This is not my idea of an all around use amp. Strictly practice. My rating is based on that ideal.*****now the bad stuff***** I live near a country radio station and I can hear the music and DJ while the amp is on. Drives me nuts. I was told there is nothing I can do about this except move. This amp would be a 9 if it had a reverb and I didn't get the interference from the radio station. I also get some hum and static every now and again. i do not know what this is from (amp, pickups, or outside source) but this is not an amp I would gig with so, I got what I got.

Only been playing electric for about 9 months. This amp is a good practice amp. Unfortunately if this was lost or stolen I would get something in the 25+ watt range with reverb and some more bells and whistles. This Amp had a good price, modest features, and a five year warranty. I hate the interference I get. I love the simplicity of this amp. Very easy to use. Needs reverb...look at the RG 15 R if you go with this amp. If the green covers are discontinued Randall should bring them back. I was told these are only available in black now. My ratings are based on the above comments and taking into consideration that this is only a practice amp.

This is the most versitile amp ive ever played. You can get the cleanest clean tone out there or you can turn both gains all the way up put the volume on 5 and Youll get the thickest and heaviest distortion youve heard. It can roar. You can also get a nice bluesy or light distortion. The only complaint is this thing picks up static pretty bad.But its workable or you can do like i did and just put a noise gate or something on it.GREAT AMP
