This amp is loud and Brutal, 2 channel amp with a 9 band EQ on the distortion, this things screams with 150 watts is switchable between 2&4 as well as 8&16 ohms and it has 3 different speaker outputs with one that is +4decibles thatn the other two, very cool features

Sound Quality : 9
I use an ltd with EMG's and I get a punishing sound. the clean tone is very nice as well and equally shapeable as the distortion channel.

Reliability : 10
I've used this for well over a year with my band, and this has proven to be a very road worthy amp. this sucker was built to last

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had to call Randall on anything, though I hear that they are very pleasent to deal with

Overall Rating : 10
this amp is a beast, I would be lost if someone stole the thing, I see no reason to purcahse any other amp, this thing is loud, built to last, and a tone machine, if you get a chance to pick one of these up I highly suggest it

2 channels,9band EQ on distortion,150 watts(about = to a 50W tube Marshall)The EQ is a very cool feature so I give it a 8

Sound Quality : 5
Well as far as solid state goes its a pretty decent sounding amp.The EQ is nice for tone shaping etc..But this is solid state and can never duplicate the dynamic feel of a tube head. With a tube amp crank the guitars vlume and pick hard and you get a full satuated sound, roll back the volume a bit and pick softer and get a smooth warm almost clean sound and many variations in between. With solid sate Crank it and pick ahard get a semi warm buzz, roll back and pic lite get a buzz and very little tone variation. Its so so.If ya get one used offer $150 for it.

Reliability : No Opinion
The one I used was older and to my knowledge never broke down.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 5
Good solid stater but I'd still takea solid state Marshall over it.Definitly not tube amp not worth the bucks new no way no how.

I think this amp was probably pre-washburn judging by the tone. I wouldn't know how versatile it is cause i only play death metal music and what not and don't have any use for "sweet, vintage clean tone", who gives a rat's ass? It is a very simple amp, only two channels, clean and distorted, with separate eq's and a 9 band eq on the distortion channel, very cool feature if i say so myself. It has a shitload of power, 150 watts, yet can also be used in the bedroom since it is solid-state. In a gigging situation it is a fucking beast, blows away many tube amps! Also has an effects loop and decent reverb.

Sound Quality : 9
Randall used to be able to make solid state amps sound like tube amps, and this is a perfect example. The distortion is very dynamic and responsive, reminds me of a souped up jcm-900. The only complaint is a small humming sound on the gain channel, but i can deal with that. I play a jackson dinky standard straight thru the amp with a bbe sonic maximizer and boss eq pedal thru the effects loop and i use a marshall 4x12 cab with celestion speakers. This setup gives me absolutely nutshredding, brutal distortion of only the most malevolent kind. I play brutal death metal/grindcore ala Dying Fetus and deeds of flesh and it delivers the goods and then some. I'll never buy another amp.

Reliability : 10
Since it is solid state, i never bring a back up head with me to gigs. After owning it for two years i have never had it break down on me, i hope it stays that way. Never had to deal with customer service.

like i said, i never had to deal with em.

A very satisfactory guitar head. Fits my needs perfectly. If someone stole this thing I would gut and rape their bloody carcass.

Two channels, easy switching, headphone jack. Perfect for the styles of music I play. I wish it had some effects though. Like a flanger. I use it at home and it gives me plenty of power and noise through the half-stack Randall cabinet.

Sound Quality : 10
I use my copy guitars with standard, not all that great pickups. In my opinion, it's perfect for loud, distorted, metal. The dirty channel is loud compared to the clean one, but that's all right. You have a lot of control over the distortion though. It's got an EQ, and a bunch of other customizable features. The clean channel is pretty clean unless you turn the reverb up and the distortion can be just as brutal as you want it to be.

Reliability : 9
The amp's never broken, I don't think I'd have to use a backup, but I'd bring one because of the kind of person I am.

1999-2000 washburn manufactured solid state head. 150 watts RMS, 9 band graphic EQ on the distortion channel, mid. frequency control,2 channel operation with presence on clean...etc.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I tried it with my Gibson Custom with EMG's and it sounded pretty bad.
It had a very unmusical sound with a harshness to it that even a metalhead, like myself, couldn't stand. Sure the freatures are appealing but the tone just isn't their. Had to boost it with my Boss Super Overdrive to get a acceptable sound out of the son-of-a-bitch.

Reliability : 5
It's solid state and I've heard of Randalls reputation, but it wasn't there. The guitar input jack was flimsy and didn't secure cables very well...it was just cheap and skanky looking

Customer Support : No Opinion

Get a tube head. I originally purchased this as a back-up head for my Crate BV-120H, believe it or not I get an awsome sound with the Crate,
but I was so disaapointed with the crap that came out of it plugged in. Tone is subjective, but this amp sucks! Will return immediatelly.
