I give this category a 10, not because there are a lot of features, but because the features it comes with work so well. The volume goes from fly wing quiet to much much louder than a 7 Watt amp should ever be. Supposedly it has a circuit in it that makes it more equivalent to a 25 watt. The Bass and Treble knobs offer a very wide range of tones. Quite a bit of boost and roll off on each. The Tremolo is the best solid state version I've ever heard. I have a Vox AC30CC2X and a Fender Twin Reverb 65 Reissue. Both of which have great Trem and I like it on this little Rickenbacker almost as much. The distortion is a nice warm distortion. It is very dynamic sensitive. You can get the sound of tubes just overdriving or full on EH Muff style sustain.

Sound Quality : 10
I bought mine used on eBay for $45. It sound great, the speaker, which I'm not sure if it's stock or not, sounds great. It's very nicely worn in. There is some hiss, but there is with any good amp. A few pops and clicks here and there, but for the most part it is perfectly quiet. The tone is amazing in my opinion. Maybe because I'm playing a Rickenbacker 360 out of it, but it sounds amazingly transparent.

Reliability : 10
It turns on everytime I need it to. Like I said a few pops here and there, but not much. I love it and use it all the time. It's my third amp that I use for stereo pedals, with AC30 and Twin Reverb as main amps.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It is several decades old, used, and I doubt has any warranty left in her.

Overall Rating : 10
I love it, it sounds great, the features it has work amazing well, it is transparent and sounds great. The best sounding Solid State I've ever owned.

I use this amp mainly as a practice, and with mild overdriving, it kept up with another guitar, drums, and a bass (though they weren't rocking it out fully like we would have been if I had my 100 watt Peavey with me). My larger 100 watt Peavey Keyboard amp is simply too large to move around. The knobs on the front are, in order, jack one and two (same sound in both) volume, bass, treble, speed & depth (turn depth up to get the tremelo, and then adjust speed until you get the right tremelo speed you desire), and lastly, distortion, which, with the guitar turned down, can sound pretty good. Would be nice to have reverb, but that's just personal.

Sound Quality : 9
I like to play chords with the distortion on about 2 and my Samick Les Paul copy volume on around 5-7 and tone mildly set so that when I want leads, I boost the distortion up to 10 with my toe and switch to treble pickup for a pretty nice sound. Though it's no tube when you crank it above 8 (when overdriving is noticable), it provides a very nice vintage overdrive that isn't anything like what an overdriven tube sounds like, but it's a pretty nice sound of its own. I think my speaker's been replaced, so that may contribute to the nicer sound I hear. My Les Paul copy has dual chrome covered humbuckers with individual volume and tone controls. It sounds better with the guitar low and the amp higher, using the distortion knob or just plain volume. Sometimes I use the wah setting on my Digitech RP200 multi-effects pedal to get some nice feedbacking with the volume and tone wide open and that vintage wah sound. As far as the clean sound, like I said, until about 8, there is no overdriving, and it has a very nice clean sound where you can hear EVERYTHING that you do on your guitar. VERY nice clean tone, excellent for quieter volumes around 7 and under, unless you like the overdrive like I do :)

This is made in the 70's, and I had it for a few weeks before I plugged the headphones in (which cuts off the speaker sound on mine ...) and it was playing fine until I took the headphones out ... then the speaker wouldn't sound and neither would the headphone jack ... thanks to the 90 day warrantee at Top Ten Music (used music store near Philly), I had the headphone jacks and input jacks replaced free of charge, and now all works very well. Very tough amp, other than that little break after MANY years of use. Just watch out for the headphone jack ... I don't use it at all now :D too chicken to lose this great practice amp (remember my other option: the 100 watter!)

Customer Support : 10
Top Ten Music is operated by a very kind man, Chris, who is VERY customer friendly, and he helped me with the problem of this muted speaker; fixed it free of charge!

I think that the distortion and the overdriven sound are VERY different in this amp, and if you don't like them, just hook up your favorite effects and fool with the 2-band EQ until you find a spot you like. It has an EXCELLENT clean sound. What you plug in comes out. Great little solid-state amp that is much louder than it seems!

Made sometime in the 1970's. I bought it in 1994 from a pawnshop. It's a single channel solid state pracitce amp with tremelo. This is my main practice amp. I use this amp with all my guitars for practicing at home and for adjusting my guitars pickup height. This amp does'nt seem to "color" the sound of my guitars. I wish it had a headphone jack or a speaker out so I could record with it. I would also like to find a footswitch for the tremelo.

Sound Quality : 9
I've used this amp with Fender strats and teles, a Gibson faded flying V, ES 335, Les Pauls and assorted Ibanez guitars. This amp lets the character of each guitar come through. Played clean the amp lets you hear all your mistakes. The amp sounds best at low volumes. I took it to a rehearsal once but it just didn't have enough power to be heard. The speaker also easily distorts but not in a good way. Nothing close to an overdriven tube amp sound here. For bedroom practice it's great. I've also used this amp with all kinds of stomp boxes, from the Boss Metal Zone,Dano Fab Tone and DOD Grunge to various chorus, phase and delay pedals and have gotten good results if the volume is kept down. Most of the time I just plug straight into the amp. This amp has better clean sounds than my Marshall Lead 12 or my Squier SP10 but they both have better distortions.

Reliability : 10
I'm guessing this amp is well over 20 years old but it still works fine. The plastic handle is broken and the covering is scuffed and worn in some areas. The speaker says "made in mexico" and has a square shaped magnet. This is not an amp to gig with. I plan on keeping this amp along time. I've seen a couple of these amps in vintage guitar stores priced at over two and three times what I paid for it. As much as I like this amp I don't think it's worth that much. I would but another one if the price was right so I could run them in stereo

Customer Support : No Opinion
From what I've found on the internet Ricknebacker got out of the amp bussiness some time ago because of fears about product liability. I'm pretty sure any amp repair shop could fix this, the circuit looks pretty simple. This amp has worked fine for me since the day I bought it. It's one of the best gear purchases I ever made.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing guitar for 25 years. I'm not a professional musician it's just an expensive a hobby. I own a Marshall 50 watt JMP head and Park 412 cab, a Fender 212 Blues Deville and a Peavey Delta blues 115. My practice amps are a Marshall lead 12 and a Squire SP 10.
This amp is not some "vintage holy grail" of tone. It is what it is, a reliable solid state practice amp with good clean tone.

Features : 7
This solid state amp was built in the 70s. Has 7 Watt, but sounds much louder.
Has'nt many features, but everything you need:
2x Input, Volume, Bass, Treble, Speed, Depth, Distortion and Tremolo.
Also one headphone jack.
This amp really looks cool. http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/mccorp/TR7.html

Sound Quality : 7
I mainly play Smiths, Beatles jingle-jangle, but for this music it
isn't the right amp. Therefore you must have a tube amp.
But for Rock or Metal it will work well.
Distortion is ok. The "speed" switch is not useful.

Reliability : 10
It's a very reliable home-amp. The construction is ultra-solid.
Never had any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Rickenbacker.

Overall Rating : 7
I am playing since 11 years now with a Rickenbacker 330 (copy).
If it were stolen or lost I would buy the same one again, if I want
to have a solid state amp for home-use.
One disadvantage: It's not possible to switch off the speaker. Even when you are using headphones, the main speaker sounds.

This 15 watt amp solid state amp is very basic. The only "extra" it has is tremolo. It works well. It's a nice little combo but you have to put the tone controls on about 3 for it not to sound like shit.It has 1 channel, two inputs, master volume. I play my acoustic through it and it sounds alright. It is a decent 1x10.

Sound Quality : 7
It sounds incredible with the tone controls at 3 or less. I play it with a Crybaby and a Big Muff distortion. My main guitar is a 1983 American Standard Fender Bullet S-1(see review), all of which sound great together. It has a wide array of sounds it can make.

Reliability : 10
It's built like a tank.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to call but it is from mid seventies so I probably wouldn't get much help.

Overall Rating : 9
I'd buy it again! I love its versitility for a small combo.
