Rivera Chubster Jimster Mod

bought this amp 4 months ago, and all i can say is wow! i was looking for an amp that had alot of features, it had to have good distortion and great clean. i play in a cover band playing 60,70,80s, 90s rock. with so many styles and playing at clubs from small to big, i needed an amp that could be a work horse but still sound great. this amp was a mod that a guy from my local store came up with. it has channel switching, an active effx loop, and 12" speaker. This amp uses 6l6 power tubes much different than the std chubster. it also has alot more low end, cranked up this amp has as many lows as my dual rectifier 4x12! It has more than enough power, 50 watts, its alot like the quiana model but it seems to be tighter on the low end which is sweet! the only feature i wish it had would be a volume knob for the Ninja Boost on the fender channel.

i use mainly a strat, paul, or a PRS. My strat sounds fat, for the vaughn and hendrix. though my prs sounds incredible doing Mattalica, aerosmith, and Radiohead. Ill tell ya the first month i had it i was unsure of my choice, it was alot of money and its very sensitive. But i found the active eq can dial just about anything! Just took time for me to get how it works. Its so much different than the std marshalls and mesas im used to. But after working with my salesman, "thanks dude" ive found the sweetness of this amp, in his words," its not that it sounds 10 times better than any other amp out there, just it can BE any other amp out there!"

I had a tube go out, after a few months(weired) but i called rivera and was sent out a new set(no charge) and never had another problem. It sounded as though the comapny was very genuine and did care about making it ok! They were nice and got me what i needed. I guess anytime you call a company and talk to the owner, thats good customer support!
