2006 Fandango big combo, bought gently used. This is one great amp! See the features others have described. More than enough tone adjustments for me - separate EQ for clean and hot channels. Would like reverb footswitchable, but I prefer using my outboard delay units for echo effects (switchable) so I keep reverb low when used at all. "Vintage/modern" switch works well as power-cutter. I use the amp at home (best when family is out) and in small to medium clubs where it is plenty o' power. Play classic rock, blues and country - wide tonal and overdrive adjustments make it easy to get what I want. Have used in a jazz band setting as well; no complaints! Warms up single coils, have to dial it back with more powerful humbuckers to avoid muddiness. With my Parker Fly Mojo Duncans (which are not that heavy duty, seems to be just right combination.

Sound Quality : 10
I play the following with this amp: Parker Fly Mojo with Duncans (stock); Heritage Millenium with stock humbuckers; Gibson Flying V2 with stock boomerang pickups; vintage Telecaster with vintage Fender pickups; Guild X150D with TV Jones Filt'rtron pickups; and a couple of lap steels. So, I don't normally push with super-power humbuckers except when I play a Gibson Firebrand 335S with original Dirty Fingers humbuckers. All my mentioned guitars sound great, can hear much more detail of the strings with this amp in comparison to others in my arsenal (principally tube Marshalls of various eras; Fender Twin Reissue; Fender Blues Deville 4x10). Will probably thin out and keep the Twin or Deville for backup (hah!).

Clean channel on Rivera is really nice. Takes awhile to get the settings working optimally - much greater range than on my Marshalls. Any edge the Deville has on the Rivera clean channel is due to the punchier 4x10s in the Deville vs the Celestion 75s in the Rivera. None of my country players have complained about the Rivera sound though!

I don;t play with heavy distortion, and the Rivera - which has a lot on tap - has more than I would conceivably use.

Reliability : 10
Seems solid, haven't had as much as a sniffle from it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience with them. A couple of years ago when I was looking into Riveras, I did call them, they answered and while it wasn't the man himself, I did get intelligent answers and suggestions.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing guitar 49 years (may be a record on here ...) and enjoy every minute of it. I am partial to 2x12s, I've never heard a 1x12 that sounded as fully dimensional as any of my 2x12s. If this were lost, I would buy again. I came to Rivera late - was recommended to me by musicians over the years, most recently and consistently by "Uncle Bob" of Select Guitars in Norwalk CT (sadly, no more), and I shoulda listened to you Uncle Bob. Well, now I am happy. If I could make it a tad bit lighter to move around, I would, but I wheel it on a platform when it's travelling. Even at its pricey brand new price this amp so satisfies, and replaces several other pieces of equipment (amps and effects), that I consider it an excellent value if you value your tone.

2001 Custom colored (Sedona Brown/Blonde) 100 Watts. Does every type of tone; scooped Mesa crap, Marshall Plexi, Marshall Jcm 800, and Hot Rodded Jcm800 with a Dead Nuts Fender Clean & Blues tone!! My band plays everything from Jefferson Airplane to Nickleback to Ozzy!! Amp has 2 channels each with a boost, 3-way footswitch and adjustable effects loop send and return!! I wish it had a gain and clean loop w/ a global loop, like the Laney VH100R. It allows for more versatility using effects but really isn?t necessary which is why I give it a ?10?. I use this amp for everything; outside gigs, clubs exc.... It's got more than enough power for everything you could throw at it plus a half power switch for the smaller venues!! All tube tone and Sweetness!! Rivera Rules!!!!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a 1971 Les Paul Standard and a 2000 Les Paul Custom with JB's in the bridge and 59's in the Neck (A new Custom Wayne Rock Legend Axe, set up with the same pickup configuration is on the way!!) This amp does everything I throw at it!! I leave the boost engaged on the gain channel all the time with the preamp set to a classic rock tone then hit the front with a Boss Super Overdrive for leads and Heavier tunes (it just works easier for me that way, you really don't need the pedal) I'm just used to Marshall amps that always needed more gain and chunk, this Amp has plenty Gain & More bottom than you can handle!! The amp is extremely quiet, no switching noise, no fizzing or crackling like a $2000.00 Soldano I just demo'd, or reverb feedback!! It can go from 80's ballad clean to SRV grind to 80's metal crunch to Modern Mesa Mids sucked out so you can?t hear the guitar in a band mix, Crapppp!! The clean channel only distorts when you want it to and the distortion is nice and creamy!! I changed the speakers from GT-75's to Vintage 30's to cream it out a little more which if you were going to order one I suggest that change!!

Reliability : 10
I have had 6 different Riveras, 3 different Soldanos, 2 Laney VH100R's and numerous Marshalls. This amp is by far the most reliable of the bunch!! Never broken down in the six months I've been gigging with it.

Customer Support : 10
Rivera!!! That says it all!!!!! Lukather has no class ripping these guys!! Business is Business between two people; it should have been left that way!!! They have the answers 98% of the time and if not they'll get them!!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing 18 years and have never been as happy with an amp except for the Laney!! This amps clean channel blows the Laney away and has a comparable gain. If it were stolen I'd get it again in a Head/Cab configuration, it's just more versatile w/ the different speakers configurations you could use!! I compared this amp to everything: ENGL, Mesa (CRAP), Soldano, Bogner, VHT & Line-6. Not one of these amps could touch the tone for the dollar and this amp stands up to the $3000.00 amps like none other!!
