This is a great little amp. It is only a simple practice amp, but as far as practice amps go, IT ROCKS.

I am using a really funky guitar with it and really cool rail pickups. It sounds okay with what i do with itm i wish it could sound a little more bluesy though. This amp has a wide variety of sounds, its distortion channel is great but is a little too scratchy. But you can make it sound alot like a Marshall amp by turning the treble half the way up and turning the bass all the way down. But with doing it doesnt go very loud at all.

This amp was made in late 2001. I played hard rock on. it has two channels, clean and distortion. its just a basic practice amp. the only thing special is it has a one 12ax7 preamp tube in it. however it sounds like most other solid state amps. i bought it for around 110 on musicians friend.

this sound is simply, horrid. when i first bought it i thought it was great. but later it sounded very muddy and bleak. distortion isnt so bad. it has a lot of bite to it. but since its not very loud it doesnt do much. it seems to me that it is a very consistent amp. each time you turn it on it sounds either good or bad.

i wouldnt buy this again. i wouldve saved my money for a fender frontman or a marshall mg30. ive played a frontman, and a little peavey, and both were much better. go with what you know. dont buy this rocktron, simply because it doesnt sound very good.

I just bought the amplifier one week ago, new, but I do not know the date of manufacture.
FIRST-this is a practice amp, so I am rating it as such.
I play everything from country to folk or alternative to death metal. Basically, I was looking for a practice amp that can sound decent no matter what genre I play. I find it difficult to get any amp to sounds good both clean and dirty-until now!
This amp has 20 watts, an 8 inch "Velocity" speaker with an overdrive channel. It has two level controls-one for clean and the other for overdrive as well as your other bsics, including spring reverb. It also has a headphone jack and an input jack. The overdrive channel sounds really good. The clean sound is good too, again for this size/price range. I get both crunch and sparkle when I want it. So far I think it is very versatile. In fact, I like it so much, I am about to play (without a mic) to an audience of fifty in a 30' classroom (with good acoustics)-using this amp. I will post an update

I have tried this amp with a Gibson SG, A Studio LP, and a Washburn BT2. These guitars use humbucking pickups. This amp sounds good playing really heavy metal as well as rythm. The amp is a little noisy at high clean settings with bass cranked. But, it has a great distortion sound at virtually any setting (with bass >5).

This amp is new, so I cannot tell, but the workmanship is okay.

I have been playing for about 1 year now, so I am still learning, but I have tried out or owned many small amplifiers in this period of time (ten)from a myriad of leading manufacturers. To date this is the loudest, most versatile and aesthetically pleasing practice amp (defined as 40W< and 10" or smaller speaker) I have owned or played.
I compared it to Peavey 158, Fender Frontman 15R and 25R, As well as a small Marshall and a Pignose.
I like it as it is, remembering what it is. If I lost or broke this one, I would buy another!
