Two inputs, one for clean and one for o/d. Three band e.q, line and headphones outs. 10 watts of power, pretty loud for practicing and rehearsals at low volumes. Don't know what year it was made but it looks like a late eighties early ninetees piece of work.

Sound Quality : 8
I use it with an American Fender Strat.
The amp has a mid-rangey sound, and it does a great job for funky, blues and jazz chops. This is a very good option for somebody who wants an amp with a nice clean sound to use for practicing, or take it to a small combo rehearsal (for as long as you don't have to play at very loud volume levels). There is an overdrive channel too, but forget that it's even there. For distortion you put a pedal in front of your clean channel and you are in business.
I have tried the line out a couple of times but I found it a bit noisy. I don't know if it's like that in all of them or it's just mine. On the other hand I would find it a bit strange for somebody to use this amp as a recording amp.

Reliability : 10
You can kick it, drop it, spit on it, use it as a stool or a coffee table, spill your beer all over it and it's still gonna work!

I own quite a few of their products and I've always found them trouble-free. As for the times I needed manuals and support documents, I only had to enter a valid e-mail address in their website and within seconds I had delivered whatever I asked for in my mailbox. I haven't asked their secretary for a date yet but maybe even that could be possible through their website.

Overall Rating : 8
Overall a very nice sounding practice amp that has plenty of volume for what it is.
Clean channel is beautiful, don't bother with the overdrive channel.
The most important thing about this little amp is that it's stress free. You can fit it in a backpack, go for a rehearsal with your jazz trio without having to lag around your beloved main amp, and in the unfortunate event that you forgot it outside your door while it was pouring down all night,.....don't worry, just let it dry and it will probably work fine again!

Amp purchased used through EBay about 3 years ago. Don't know age, but assume to be from early to mid 1980's based on its looks. Distortion channel has separate jack and is not swtichable. Features as described previously. Very basic amp.

Sound Quality : 6
I use with a Fender 62 Strat RI (US) and a Gibson 335 Dot run through a Boss ME-50. Excellent clean channel. Distortion channel has a very harsh artificial sound. I usually play clean (rock, country, jazz)but ME -50 takes care of overdrive and distortion if I want those sounds. For clean sounds, similar to Roland Jazz Chorus amps, I would rate the amp at 10. Overall, I would rate it lower.

Reliability : 10
Rugged little amp. I take it to friends' homes regularly. Very portable. No problems whatsoever.

Used amp. Never had a problem. I like Roland / Boss porducts. My only experience with Roland has been with the regional distributor in Richmond, BC, Canada with regard to my Roand U-20 Keyboard. Excellent service.

I've been playing about 40 years. Have owned various amps both tube and transistor. Generally use a Mesa Boogie head through Marshall bottom when jamming bi-weekly in rehearsal studio. This amp is only used in home. It's perfect for wht I want out of it. If lost or stolen, I would consider another Roland if I could find one easily. But there are so many small amps available and prices are low, that I probably would simply buy something else.

Solid state 10 watt practice amp. 2 channels (clean + OD), line out and phones jack. Very strong construction, easy to use, perfect beginner amp, and still useful for more advanced guitarists.

Sound Quality : 7
Using a well shielded Strat with EMG single coils - sound is excellent. Overdrive is no tube sound, but OK for the $$! Clean channel is very smooth, excellent snappy strat/tele reproduction. Can be suceptible to interference (flouro light starters, switchgear etc), but after all - it's only a practice amp. Can't be too critical. Responds well with effects - little breakup.

Reliability : 9
Solid state, VERY rugged construction. You won't break it. Good controls, protected by cabinet overhang. Strong speaker grille.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never needed.

Overall Rating : 10
Playing 10 yrs, various Ibanez pedals (super metal, stereo chorus), Washburn analog delay, Musicman 130/2x10" combo.

I love this little amp! i would buy one again (if available) if mine was lost orstolen.

This is a little tiny practice amp (10W). It has a clean channel and a distorted channel. The distorted channel is yucky, as you would expect from Roland, but the clean channel is voiced like a little tiny JC120. I own a pair of them for stereo and I drive them with an Alesis Quad GT. It has a single 8" speaker, and a headphone jack. It is all transistor, with a fairly hard to get IC chip for the power amp.

Sound Quality : 10
The clean sound is dreamy, with an unfortunate lo freq rolloff at about 100Hz, so all my Quad patches turned out to be bass boosted when I played them on a JC120. But it is very accurate above 100Hz. Not much variety, but a wonderful clean sound. Don't bother with the distortion. There is a little hiss, so I'd watch out the high end EQ if I took it inot the studio. It would have to be pretty radically noice gated. It sounds best to me with a single coil pickup.

Reliability : 10
This amp is built like iron. It's simple and has never broken down.

Overall Rating : 10
I bought one of these used and one new. There was a ten year difference in the times I bought them. It turned out that their serial numbers were only 50 different! They sound identical. At the time, I tried a lot of different little amps, and this one is amazingly better than most, especially for so cheap. The new one was $75 as I recall, too.
