pretty simple--gain, volume(of effects;gain, clipper, etc), master volume, bass, middle, treble, presence, and clipper. headphone out, line out(which i put in), 8" speaker. it would be cool if it had reverb, but hey, it's just a practice amp. don't know when it was made, mum got it for $15NZ at a market day! had something wrong with one of its transistors=$3--working perfectly! i really love the presence--it defines the high notes well on distortion settings. getting a marshall valvestate 100watt head(bit of an upgrade, eh?), this little amp is fine for playing in church, but not enough power for gigs, outside church services, etc. 7, because of the clipper and presence knob.

i play a modified Ibanez GAX70 with stock pickups(an awsome guitar for the price, way better than any $300 strat copy), Ibanez Tone-Lok SH-7(DO NOT BUY THIS PEDAL unless you like harsh overdrive with no sustain, no palm damping, no singing highs, no mids...the list goes on!). this amp has about three good settings on it. it's pretty easy to make it sound bad! with some knob tweaking, i can get a good clean sound, a fat warm blues sound for in church, and a really cool smooth, singing distortion(almost fuzz). this amp will go quite loud, although it often loses the tone you dialed in at high volumes, and the speaker starts farting sometimes. heaps better with an extension cabinet(i use a home-constructed 'cortina 2.0'--two 6" with a tweeter which makes my distortion sound heaps clearer). clean channel distorts a little at high volumes(mabye getting rid of the 'special design' speaker would help! i play creed, linkin park, audio adrenaline...etc, this amp is pretty good for these bands, if you only want to play the choruses(takes forever to switch from distorted back to clean). my favourite setting is gain 10, volume 10, master volume (depends on whether the parents are home or not), bass 10, middle 10, treble 0, presence 10 , clipper on. this give a really smooth, deep distortion, awesome for fat palm damping riffs, unfortunately no defined chords. high notes just do not cut through, turning treble up tends to make the bottom end sound bad. don't try turning up the treble with middle and 12o'clock or higher, they don't work together! this amp is pretty noisy, living on a farm surrounded by electric fences shorting out probably doesn't help! 3 for the easy to find 'bad tone' ten for the awesome distortion.

Reliability : 9
this amp's input jack broke down and started buzzing about 4 years after i got it, i replaced the jack, no more problems so far. the amplifier components of this amp seem pretty trustworthy, don't know what the guy before me had done to blow them! i would use this amp without a backup, for the simple reason that i have no backup. the tolex or whatever it's covered in, seems pretty strong. no problems here, 'part from the jack plug.

never had to deal with the Roland company. don't know if there are any authorized dealers around here, anyway. i'll pass on this one.

Overall Rating : 8
this amp is a beast of a practice amp for 15 bucks, if i found it for that much again, i would probably buy it. if it was lost, i wouldn't buy it again, i'd save up and buy a marshall vs100rh (coming in the mail as i write this). i would love a reverb, but the presence more than makes up for that. if you see it, and you're a beginner, or want a cool practice or garage band amp, BUY IT. one day i'd like to try the roland jazz chorus 120 watt amp, but this will do me until my marshall comes!

It's an old amp... Ancient, probably made before I was born. A bit small but definately enough to practice on.

Sound Quality : 6
I'm not sure if it sounds good. It's broken And i haven't bothered taking it in. It still works but it looses power and the sound level drops dramatically, and without warninging it will increase suddenly (Pissing everyone in my house off). But when it works it sounds great. Better for metal but can handle clean just fine.

Old amp, yet very good. It came complete with gain, volume, master volume, high, mid, low, and presence knobs. Also has a clipper switch which makes it sound more choppy-er. Headphone jack also makes it easy to play with while family member is trying to sleep. Would be better if it came with reverb. This Roland is good for anything heavy.

Sound Quality : 9
I recently use it with my B.C. Rich Warlock which is equipped with a DiMarzio X2N. Sounds great. This is a great amp for metal, grunge, or any other type of rock. Not really noisy...no noticeable buzz or anything. The only sound it makes is the notes I play. On the clean channel is can do jazz and blues, but I don't play much of that. If you turn the gain down all the way and leave the clipper off, then the clean channel is very clean. Still, the reverb would make this amp better. It doesn't have the normal distortion like marshalls give out. It has more of the Pantera sounding distortion.

Very reliable amp, but too small for gigs. I think it broke once, but that was before I recieved it. The person who gave it to me had it fixed first.

Customer Support : 10
Never dealt with the company. Amp was fixed once, but not under warranty. This is an old amp(I don't think they make them anymore).

Overall Rating : 10
I have only been playing for about 2 years, but of all the practice amps I've used, this one blows them all away. I also own a Peavey Rage 158 and this is extremely better. If it were lost or stolen, I'd definately get a new one. But I'm not sure I'd be able to becasue i think they are not made anymore. Still, it would be the best if it had reverb.

I suppose this amp to be a good one. It has 15 (or may be 30) W power
Good for bluesy and heavy distorded sounds, though clean is very decent too. It has follwing knobs: gain, volume, master volume, low, middle, high, presence. It also has CLIPPER button for more distorted sound... And there are headphone jack, too. Only thing I miss is spring reverberator !

Sound Quality : 8
Good for blues/heavy blues/metal. Not realy noisy. Varierty of sounds is not very big, but it does the things good - okey, u actualy can get only simple sound from clean to very distorted, no echoes, flanges or choruses, but it is good !

Reliability : 10
Very sturdy and high quality made !

Customer Support : No Opinion
never did this.

Overall Rating : 8
I like it...Ohhhhhh...if ih had spring reverb !
