Not sure about tear, could be 80's. Paid 350nz$.I'm a straight rhythm guitarist so it serves me well. Even with an acoustic-electric it does the trick for a single channeled amp. No channel switching though. Effects loop, headphone and line out worked well when Di
I'D into PA system. Used at church and small gigs. Flanger seems a waste but reverbbs, cleans and chorus are good enoug for me. Better to get an overdrive/distortion pedal than to use what's supplied.

Iuse an Ibanez Ag 75, a Cort c 1000 and an Alvareg acoustic/electric. Humbuckers do well on clean, reverbs give a great early rock effect. A little chorus gives the Alvarez a nice sparkle. She runs fairly noiselessly. Never use amps distortion

Very reliable work horse. One of the fuses went but up and running again once fitted. Used all the time without backup. Just seems to go on and on!

Roland New Zealand have improved their image. They took a long time to respond to my requests. I want to change the 10" speaker to a deeper sounding one. Two days later I got a reply! Bought it s/h so warranty's no-go.

Playing since I was teenager in the 60'S. To beef up the acoustic side I use a Zoom 504 ii and an inexpensive Rogue wah-wah(Great value for money). It's small ,easily transportable and versitile for my style of playing. If lost I'd try to get another but would probably go for a small tube amp. It could do with a 12" speaker. It sounda a lot better than some of the new tiny sounding practice amps flooding the market.

Nice little 50 watt amp that I bought back in 1992 when the thing was new. I believe it's a 12", not 10", but can't be bothered to go and look. The digital effects are great but as mentioned, not foot switchable. I remember reading in the manual, which I've lost now, that you can get an optional foot pedal for it to trigger the effects. Don't use them now as have a multi-FX pedal.

Very loud - gain on it isn't great though, definitely need a decent distortion pedal. Nice bright clean sound.

The pots became noisy and unusable after 6/7 years and the input jacks were all cracked as they are made of cheap, easily breakable plastic. However, a decent service and insisting on having all the plastic input jacks replaced with steel ones made all the difference in the world and breathed a new lease of life in the amp. I love this thing - has seen me through a decade

Cool amp, small. Single channel. 4 non-simultaneous pushbutton effects- short delay/ long delay/ chorus/ flanger (non footswitchable). Effects share 3 modulation knobs. Also set up with a gain/ volume/ master volume. Three band EQ with presence knob. Others- line out/ headphone jack/ effects loop with delay "hold." I guess the thing is fifty watts- I Don't know- bought it used. Looking at it you wouldn't think it's fifty watts, but it will just scream, gets real loud and sounds pretty good. It's got what looks like a 10" JC type speaker with a hefty magnet, silver cone. I've been playing it mostly for rehearsals and jamms, but have recently taken it out on some small gigs, and it has definitely held it's own.

Mostly using a strat plus deluxe who's pickups are modeled more after a humbucking sound (lace sensors- red, blue, silver) I think a straight strat might be a little too bright through this thing. Definitely has a good sound, but a good "little amp" sound- it can get very loud and sound a lot bigger than it looks. Definitely loud enough to keep up with a drumkit. Effects are good, great roland quality, although the amp has a couple noisy pots and will crackle occassionally- nothing major.

Built pretty tough and sturdy. Big plastic corner protectors. Also have had some trouble with the input jack coming loose- just slap the needlenose on it though.

I love this amp and think it very cool sounding- wish roland would make an amp that was a basic JC in design and had some other digital effects built in- don't really go for all the modelling/ cabinet simulator stuff. This is a great amp- would be a lot better in a 2x12, or 2x10 design.
