This is a straight forward very nice sounding guitar amp bought new around 1980.
volume, bass, middle, treble and master volume controls. It has a nice spring reverb (when used sparingly), an overdrive effect that is also usable in smaller dozes. It has a switchable 6 band graphic eq that is very usable. Reverb, eq and OD are foot swichable, which makes it possible to compensate for the one channel architechture.
it has a serial effects loop, a speaker out, and a headphone plug in the rear.
I have used this amp for clean jazz; in that context it shines. The tone is clean and balanced but not sterile. The slightly bigger open cabinet gives this amp a nicer tone than the cube 60 from the same years.
For jazz the amp is loud enough in most contexts.
I have used the amp for rock also. in that context the ga60 does not have enough variation in OD tones, so pedals are needed. but the amp is indeed usable in that context.

Sound Quality : 9
I have used this amp mostly with a humbucker equiped arctop. With this guitar the tone is very nice and balanced. The amp is indeed usable in most jazz settings, from swing to modern.
The amp is not noisy.
The amp is capable of a range of distorted tones too, okay for a 1980 tranny amp.

Reliability : 9
I have been using this amp on and off for more than 25 years and it has never failed me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea.
i have never had a roland product that i needed to deal with roland about.

Overall Rating : 9
This is my first guitar amp. I still own it.
I have, and have had other amps, more fancy amps, tube amps.
This amp is the no nonsense amp that i will probably always keep.
The nice clean tone has been good enough to help me through most situations.
If it was lost I would find another one. alternatives gould be polytone (though i am not sure i could live with the nasal honk), cube 60 (not as versatile), yamaha G100, or maybe smaller evans (expensive). Fortunately, there is not much hype about this amp, so it will probably be possible to get another one at a good price.
