1999 model 2 10" speakers - i bot it because it has the best clean sound hands down also with the reverb turned to 10 it has a nice fender sound that i feel beats fender itself. the distortion is pretty bad and when turned on makes the amp buzz - i dont use it at all. its pretty loud and the chorus is great. great for clean players

i use a 52 tele with vintage pick ups and play in a danny gatton style the amp works perfect for it. the amp is noisy depending on the room -its very sensitive to other electrical items and/or amps. i find the clean works great at any level - the distortion creates lots of external noise and sounds poor too .

i've been playing 20 years - i would buy it again the jc120 is a bit more powerful but its loud enough for a band - i found it cleaner sounding than all the fender amps i wish it had a great distortion it would be the perfect amp.

This amp was manufacturered in 1999. The sales associated has a used JC120 that he just loved and heavily influenced this purchase. It is a very versitile amp. I play in a praise band. The sound caters more to a clean, undistorted sound. It is a bit noisey when used with the on board distortion. It has pleanty of wattage for stage performances.
I choose this amp because it has stereo line out plus a parallel effects loop. Three effects(chorus, distortion and reverb) are all foot-switchable (separately). The chorus is the best solid state I have ever heard. The dual 8" speakers really enhance the chorus. I am very happy with the value/price of tis product.

I use this amp mainly with an Epiphone Les Paul Custom with JB's in the treble and 59's in the bridge. The sound is full with smooth mids and lows. I also use a Peavey strat-style with three single coils. This amp produces an excellent sound with this guitar as well.

About six weeks after I bought this amp I began having problems with the Chorus. It was called intermittent defects. The authorized service center in my area attempted to fix the problem on two occasions without success. It still does not function properly. After talking with my dealer I learned that several stores in the area were having similar problems with this amp. The service rep also commented about the use of "cheap" IC chips in this amp.
When used direct to board with the both line outs one of the speakers go out. So if you attempt to use your amp as a monitor you lose half your volume and depth.

The customer service people were generally friendly and easy to work with. I can't say I was completely satified with my options for repairing my amp. Their only recommendation was that I send my 55 pound amp back to them for 3 - 6 weeks for repair.
This is an extreme headache. Now the $500 I invested in this amp for performances 3x/week has spent more time being repaired then connected to my guitar.

I've played for about 15 years. I own a Crate and a hot cabs acoustic amp. I've had the Crate for 10 years through gigs and lots of abuse and it has never failed me.
If this amp were lost or stolen I would probably replace it with a fender ultimate chorus and buy another JC90 later, as a back up.
Although I have had more problems than tolerable with this amp I am very happy with the value and features for the price I paid.

for a amp with 2 10 inch speakers. it makes my archtop sound
rich. i dont use the effects because i dont need them.

SOUNDS BOXY. LOTS OF MIDRANGE, BUT LOUD.
NOT VERY CLEAN IF YOU USE A GUITAR WITH SINGLE COIL
PICKUPS. THE HIGHS ARE JUST TOO MUCH FOR A TELE OR
MY ASAT.I HAD HIGH HOPES FOR THIS AMP. BECAUSE OF ALL
THE RAVE REVIEWS THE JC120 GOT, BUT THIS IS NOT THE SAME
ANIMAL BY A LONG SHOT. THE AMP BREAKS UP MORE IF I USE THE
CHORUS.

I WOULD NOT BUY THIS AMP AGAIN IF IT WAS STOLEN.
I'D BUY ME A FENDER TWIN, OR SOME OTHER GOOD TUBE AMP.
I'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND THIS IS BY FAR
THE WORST AMP I'VE EVER USED. I HAD PLAYED THROUGH A JC120
AND LIKED THE IDEA OF A SMALL JC, BUT THIS IS NO SMALL JC120.
IT WONT PLAY LOUD AND CLEAN.
