This has pretty much been covered. 200 watts, 10" speaker, ground lift, phase switch, crossover frequency, and volume. Great selection of in's, out's, and thru's.

This thing is incredible. It doesn't take much more than presence volume to take your sound to a new dimension. It is whisper quiet with no hum when not in use. I am surprised to see that no one has mentioned how great this sub is for acoustic/vocals. I use a Roland AC90 acoustic amp with the KCW-1. I play a Gibson EC-20 Starburst acoustic/electric through it and the sound is unreal. The amp alone sounds great, but when you add the KCW-1, you will be amazed. The vocals have a rich, deep tone without being "boomy" (I use either a Shure SM58 Beta or a Shure Super 55). Roll back the bass on the guitar preamp (Fishman) and the low end is fantastic. Between the AC-90's 90 watts and the KCW-1's 200 watts, this combination is actually more than enough for medium sized gigs.

I have never had to send a Roland product back for repair. It is built like a tank.

I have been playing for 35 years. I own everything from an old Peavey Classic 50 up to a Marshall JCM2000 DSL full stack and have played everything in between. I have the Gibson acoustic I mentioned and 2 Blueridge acoustics (as well as 13 assorted vintage Gibson and Fender electrics). I KNOW TONE. I sold the AC-60 I had to get the AC-90. I wanted a little more bottom end, so I bought the KCW-1 and was more than pleasantly surprised!I have plenty of headroom and no distortion. I would recommend this to all serious players. If it were stolen, I would be on the phone immediately getting a replacement. I looked into a couple of different 200+ watt studio subs but this one is considerably more rugged for gigging. Have a strong back, though. The sub alone is a little over 50 pounds.

The KCW-1 has all you need to hook it up into any system that needs a sub. It is a small sub meant for small gigs in clubs. It will not fill a big auditorium, uless it is just for a stage monitor. The built in crossover helps to find the right freqencys. It has a 10 inch speaker and a 200watt amp inside.

It certianly adds bottom to your keyboards. I haven't tried it with a kick drum yet thought.

I use the KCW-1 with a Roland KC-350 amp which is what it was made to work with. The KC-350 even has a sub out on the back of it for use with the KCW-1. I always play left hand bass at my gigs so the sub is a boost to the low end. I don't always bring it along, it depends on my mood and how much I want to "rock out". I really don't know of any other self powered subs this small on the market.

I don't know why Harmony Central doesn't have a spot for keyboard amps , so I am posting this here.
The SCW-1 is a subwoofer. It is set up to be connected with any amp. It even has a built in crossover. It has both line and XLR ins and outs. It has a 10 inch speaker and 200 watts. It is solid state.
I wish that it had a large speaker , but that would make it weigh more and be larger. It is really easy to carry and weighs in at around 50 pounds. It is stereo in and out. It also has a phase switch and a footswitch to take it in and out of the signal chain.

If you have never heard your keys thru a subwoofer , you need to try it as soon as you can. Especially if you do left-hand bass or use kick drum patches. I was looking for something to catch the low end of my Hammond XK-3. I have a Mackie SWA 1801 ,but I wanted something smaller.
The KCW-1 has plenty of low end, but the 10 inch just can't handle some material. Still , unless you are really doing heavy low end material , it should work fine. The 15 inch in the Roland KC-550 was nice , but it didn't begin to approach the thump of the KCW-1. Except on a few patches , I was rumbling everything in the music store.
It is clean , no hiss and it has all the volume you will ever need for most gigs.
Still I took off a few points for those bass patches that distorted it.

Since it will supplement your regular amp, you can get along without it. I have used Roland gear for years and never had a problem.

I am a touring pro. I have been playing concerts since 1972. In that time I have seen the equipment evolve. Subwoofers are the next phase in the evolution of the sound. You can't compare a sub with satellites to a regular amp. A regular amp is just not set up for the complete sound spectrum.
I wish it had at least a 15 inch , but could stay the same size. maybe a little more power , if the amp was the reason for the distortion. But properly compressed, it should even beat that rap.
I may wait for the 15 inch version. I still have my Mackie SWA 1801.
But it should really enhance your bottom end. You will realize how much you are missing. We have evolved past the modified guitar amp days. The complexity of sound now require the same technology we have in our home theater systems.
Even if you run your board thru the PA for volume. The extra thump will make you feel better. And you can get rid of the bass amp , if you play left hand bass.
