Build at middle of the '80, this amp is great and combines a rich clean tone with a warm sound for blues, ballad and soft-rock. It's powered by "Tube Blaster" technology wich emulates a vintage tube distortion and a 12" woofer. With the "Tube Blaster" switch feature and the drive amp knob you can get distortion from blues to crunchy distortion (with volumen or gain knob). Although its three (3) equalizer knobs can help to get fat or heavy distorision. The middle knob really "boost" the sound. This AMP is equiped with REVERB knob, to get ambiance; and CHORUS switch with two additional knobs to control RATE and DEPTH.
Finally, it has seven (7) output jacks for: Blaster pedal, Chrous pedal, Reverb pedal, Headphones, Line Out, Return and Send.

Sound Quality : 6
It sounds really loud but not enough as others 65 watts that I heard, as Fender and Marshall. The tone is fat (very low frequencies) in most of cases wich make it ideal for blues, '60's rock and hard-rock. If you swith the tube blaster off (to CLEAN position) and switch the chorus on and roll the reverb knob to 1/4, you'll get a really clean beautiful sound.
The clean position is ideal to connect others effects, as DOD, BOSS or DIGITECH analog pedals or other signals processors.

Reliability : 4
Well, the time is talkin'... I bought this amp in 1990 and this post is in 2003 (13 years has past) and the only fix that I made (in 2002) was the KNOBS because they sound a little buzzy when I roll them. In any Electronic Repair/Shop can change it.

Customer Support : 1
Ross System does NOT exist anymore, so if you find this product "refurbished" or "used" and you're a beginner or intermedian guitarist think about it, because you won't find any technical support or a Web-site to download a Manual, or Technical Specifications or the Circuit map.

Overall Rating : 7
I been playing 1990, but I stoped for 8 or 9 years, now I have a new guitar (my girlfriend gave it to me in April 2002, in my birthday) a Ibanez GSA-60 and I bought a Korg AX100G signal processor in May 2002... I'm really happy with a lot of fun with this gear and my old ROSS RGC-65.
