Steven offers a lot of different options but I went with the Lightning 15. He worked with me and added a high cut and middle control. To me, these 2 mods alone are worth the price. I am especially excited about the high cut. The sweep is really broad so I can make very fine adjustments. It's a very professional feature.

I use a lot of different guitars (strat, tele, prs, les paul, L5) and it sounds great with all of them. I look for amps that let the sound of the instrument come through and this one does it to perfection. Obviously this is not an amp for metal, but it works well for just about everything else. It's very quiet and the natural overdrive is absolutely perfect. One of things I have always admired about this circuit is that it has a great vintage vibe but can also put out a very modern tone. I love vintage tone, but I don't want to feel like I'm stuck in the 50's every time I turn it on. This amp will do anything I want.

NO problems. The only reason for the 9 is that I have only had it a week.

Steven is great to work with. Truly a tone purist's dream. I explained what sound I was looking for and he knew how to get me there. He even helped with speaker selection. He was also really honest about upgrades that I needed and did not need. This means he turned down extra money to make sure I was happy with the sound. That is how a professional amp builder is supposed to be! See website for warranty. I met Steven and he is an easy guy to trust so I didn't give it much thought.

I have been playing for 15 years and have been lucky enough to play with some very talented people. At certain points in my life, I have been on stages with some very nice equipment and this thing can compete with all of it. I own some other name brand hand wired amps and they don't have anything on this amp. If you are looking for a point to point handwired circuit for not a lot of cash this is a great option. I would do it again tomorrow. I would love to put this next to an original and see the owners face when he/she reailzes that I have a more versatile amp for half the price. You need one!
