Very simple design based on the 5E3 circuit only instead of 2 6V6 power tubes, there are 4, which give you a little more head room and a bit more volume. It has 4 inputs, 2 for normal and 2 for bright. Two volume knobs, 1 tone knob, on/off switch and standby. Hand soldered point to point wired all built into a tweed low power twin 2x12 cabinet. It is not a real versatile amp, you get one sound, classic Fender tone, what more could anyone want?

When I first turned the thing on I wanted to throw up, it was awful. Steve offers a money back guarantee so I called him up and we talked for a while about the amp. I bought the amp pretty cheap and it had a few cheap parts in it as well. So Steve offered to replace the cheap speakers in it with some nice Jensen P12N's which improved the sound 100%. But it was still not quite what I was looking for, so for just the price of the parts Steve replaced the cheap output transformer with a real nice Mercury macnetics one, and replaced a few other things as well. Now this is the amp my ears have been longing for, for some time now. Every time I go gigging with this amp every guitar player comes up to me and asks what I am playing through. My main guitar is a strat and this amp is the perfect match for it. The 2x12 configuration gives me a big warm sound like a twin but at a much better volume because the amp is only about 30 watts, so I can crank it up and get a real sweet sound at lower levels. I play a real wide variety of music from Jazz to funk to rock to pop and I love my tone! It sounds like a vintage Fender.

I do about 200 gigs a year. I bring it to every gig, I turn it on and play it all night. I have had it for almost a year now

Steve is the best. If you are not satisfied, he will work with you and your amp till you are. I plan to buy another amp from him, something with 10's

Steve sold me the amp real cheap so I promised I would never say how much. I highly recommend SDG Vintage to anyone who is looking for great guitar tone. I am 50 years old and have been making my living playing music for most of my life. My favorite amp of all time was a 1969 Fender Bandmaster Reverb and I have had dozens of guitars, amps and effects over the years. This Double Deluxe Steve built me is one of the best amps I have ever had. I also had Steve build me a Fender style tube reverb unit that is awesome as well so I can get that cool surf sound. I use an Xotic AC booster when I need a little more overdrive.
