This amp has features I wish larger, more expensive amps had such as a headphone jack, line out, and an effect loop. Instead of a drive channel, it has an overdrive knob. The overdrive adds just a little dirt. This is not a metalhead's amp. It's more for classic rock or country

The amp distorts somewhat at high volume and the sound can be a little boxy. The amp itself is fairly free of noise. I have used both humbuckers and single coils with it with no noise issues.

Since I've had it, the pots have gotten a little scratchy. Some cleaner should fix this problem. I would not use this on a gig especially without backup.

Never dealt with the company. Their website is in Korean, by the way, not Chinese.

This was my first amp. I liked the features for the price. I have already replaced it, but keep it as a practice amp.

I bought this amp used for about US$160.
It is a single channel (2 input) solid state 60W RMS combo with 12' speaker, built in chorus and spring reverb mounted at the base of the cabinet. It has a volume (gain) knob, overdrive knob, master volume, treb. mid and bass controls, reverb control, chorus switch with rate and depth controls. The reverb, chorus and overdrive are footswitchable. It has an FX send/return loop, line out and headphone jack.

It's very low noise and hum, no probs here. I use a Yamaha SA2000 guitar, yamaha's take on the Gibson ES335 (semi-acoustic with straight-through neck, dual humbuckers). I like to play jazz, George Benson style, but commercial pressures require me to be versetile and play anything from rock, blues, country, "golden oldies" (aka: geriatric crap from the 50's), etc. I've play at restaurants, weddings, pubs, you name it. In all respects, the amp performs very well and is very versatile. I nearly always have the amp sitting behind me with a line-out to the band PA. It wouldn't have quite enough power to do anything but the smallest gig on its own. But it makes a good preamp and monitor, with a beautiful dual spring reverb. The overdrive is nice, thick and vicious, good for voodoo chile, but not thumpy scratchy for metal, you'd probably need a metalizer pedal for that. I'm not into choruses much but it sound as good as some of the chorus pedals I've played with. It's quite superb sounding for it's price!
Plenty of treble for funky comps. However the bass doesn't really follow you all the way down; there's no 'umph' anytime you solo down near the low e-string, but I think that's got more to do with the comparatively low power rating. I guess it was a bit out of its league doing professional large gigs...

I giged 4 nights a week with it for over 3 years and the only time it crapped out on me was at a larger gig when I had my coat draped over the back of it which covered the heatsink, overheated it and tripped the thermal cutout. I let it cool down for 5 mins and it powered up again to do the rest of the gig without any further ado. Not much of an issue, but the base of the custom wood cabinet broke, probably from humudity and fatigue. I replased it with an MDF pannel and reglued the carpet covering and it's fine.
It's totaly dependable, I use it as a backup for my Fender Twin now.

By the looks of it, you'd think Samick didn't exist or went backrupt or something. It's impossible to find any info or support.

As with any low cost solid-state amp, it often has a cold synthetic sound. You only notice this after playing for a long time, when you seek out a particular sound. No warmth like the vintage tube sounds.
I own a Fender Twin Reverb now, and it sounds so gorgeous it makes me melt - sparkling highs and booming lows, I use it by itself unmic'ed most of the time. Should have moved on long ago. But that's a much more expensice powerful valve amp and not without it's own inconveniences (weighs a ton!).
I'd recommend the 60-RC for the begenner who's moving on from the shoebox practice amp or the home sterio mice jack, maybe starting to do a few gigs. In that role, it's a definite winner.

I bought this amp second hand, and it was in fairly good nick. It has two inputs, 2 channels, reverb, chorus, line out and an effects loop. It also has a headphone jack that mutes the speaker output, which is very convienient when in a populated house, because, at 60 amps, this amp is fairly loud. An extra channel would have been useful, or maybe if it came with a footswitch instead of having to go out and buy one.

I play an american standard telecaster and this amp really brings out the bass in this guitar. I was worried about the solid state sharpness would ruin the tele sound, but there is no annoying piecing sound out of this amp. I would credit the extra large cabinate for this achievement. The second channel is utterly crap, being an awful soild state overdrive which sounds like a squelchy mess, and is full of squeeks and squeels. Since i hardly use overdrive, it's not a problem. This amp is completely silent.

The amp has never crackled, or broken down, although i did blow the speaker once, but i blame the cheap speaker they used. For a very low price, i got an identical replacement. The amp is fine however.

For a beginners amp, it is perfect. The sound is not too shabby, and it's exceptionally cheap. I've heard far worse amps at 4x the price, so i'm quite happy with it. If you plug a good tube emulation pedal into the effects loop, you can get some quite usable sounds out of it. The reverb is very ordinary, so i run a microverb through the effects loop. With both the tube pedal and the microverb pluged in, you can dial up all sorts of differnt sounds, raging from creamy overdrives to dirty clean blues. The only problem is when you have a bassy guitar, things tend to get muddy, so it's wise to back off the bass. For a beginner, this is highly recommended.

I don't know the year it was made, and it is a really versatile amp good for the ventures and metallica. It has 2 channels and on the back it has jacks for all the effect pedals you have, and a headphone jack. I only use this amp in my room and it has enough power for me! This amp also includes a chorus switch witch I really like!

I am using a Epiphone Les Paul Special and this suits my style just fine. It's noisy at the highest volume point, but thats because it's too loud! Really good sound!
