I was reading the other 2 reviews on the Samick LA10V (BE-Bop Deluxe) amp and I thought I would add to that. This is a very basic amp but I will say that it has a good little punch for a smaller wattage unit of only 22 watts.I own a stage amp 100 watt Marshall half stack so I have the toys, but this is a kool little portable, that's why they call them "practice" amps they are designed to be small and lite weight enough to take on the go,or use while off stage and just have on hand guys, nothing more and nothing less.

Sound Quality : 8
I only use Fender Strats, and a Gibson Les Paul with stock wound pick ups

I play mainly blues, rock n' roll and classic rock

this amp actually is quite clean for open chord structure, and has a warm tone when used on over drive at lower volumes, boost the gain channel and it wakes up the higher end of the over drive or fuzz tone, but remember this is still just a practice amp.

the previous comments knock the fact of having undesirable distortion, well most ppl know that there is a difference between over drive, and distortion and they are two different things, although they work well together.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had this used amp 1 week, but have been using it quite a bit to work on some new material so I do not hold an opinion on this category at the moment.

I've been playing guitar for close to 20 years and I own primarily a 100 watt Marshall half stack system, several guitars, and lots of effects.

I really don't see the need to compare my high end gear to the fact I use this Samick LA10V as my personal practice amp.

It is a step up from my first original practice amp which is a 1972 Fender Vibro Champ, has a lot more volume and is cleaner with a gain channel and this amp also has a vintage tolex wrap which gives it a dated look.

In closing, take this amp for what it is,it's a practice amp I certainly wouldn't take it to a jam,or put it on stage, but it serves it purpose to me,if you want high end quility, save your bucks and buy that, but you'll eventully need one of this little amps down the road.

Unlike Jason, i found this amp to be rather complete for a practice amp. Without reverb, but enough knobs to change your sound. It can be used for nice fuzzy blues-sounds, but it's difficult to get a crunchy overdrive/distortion.

The amp has 2 channels, normal and overdrive, which can only be changed by pushing a button. It has knobs for input level, overdrive level and output level, and a 3 band equalizer. It has no effect loop. The box is nicely finished in yellow/brownish coating, and seems like it can be knocked around with heavily.

I only used it as a practice amp. For that purpose it is rather complete.

As mentioned before, this amp sounds rather good with the clean channel. I have a cheap guitar with cheap pickups (don't know what sort of, never checked it...) an it still manages to give a nice warm sound.
When changing to overdrive, with the ODlevel low, it's still warm, with a nice fuzzy edge. When turning the overdrivelevel up, somethings goes terribly wrong, it loses the lower part of the sound-spectrum, and it will sound terribly sharp. Do not try to play hardrock or heavy metal on this one, but it sounds really good for nice warm fuzzy guitarsounds. Especially from this little box.

It never broke down, i have it for 7 years now... Never have used it on the road, just in my bedroom... still, rather reliable.

Never contacted them...

I have been playing on other amps, which can sound much better, especially in overdrive/distortion, but this little amp stil has a nice sound, so for its purpose and musical style it is suited. Wouldn't mind to buy another amp, because distortion is really bad...

This is your very basic practice amp. It has volume, master, level, bass, mid, and treble controls. It also has a button for overdrive. I use this amp just for playing in my room. I live in a dormitory so it is good for that. I wish that it had seperate overdrive/distortion channel. It is pain because every time you want to use distortion you have to change all the settings.

I use it with a Samick LSE 450 hs guitar. The guitar has to box style humbuckers. I works ok clean at low volumes. Once you try to crank it up it starts getting distorted and making fuzz. The distortion is really wussy too. It has no crunch at all and has a very limited range of settings. If all you used it for is finger picking at low volume it might work ok.

Reliability : No Opinion
I don't really know because I try not to use it. One of the guys in my band has 2 Marshall's so I use one of his.

never talked to them

I have had it for about 5 months and I wish someone would steal it. I have one word of advice for amp shoppers: You get what you pay for! Get a good amp the first time. My first choice would be a Marshall VS230R.
