Let me start off by saying that this is a practice amp. There is no way it is going to compete with the tube amps. With this in mind, along with the super cheap price,I would have to say that this amp is a fantastic practice amp.
Guitars Used: Fender Texas Special Fat Strat. Maton Mastersound MS500
The clean channel is very clean, which breaks up in typical solid state fashion when the volume and gain are turned up. Overdrive is purely a boost... and does it quite well.
Reverb and EQ are decent.

A boss blues driver pedal can make this amp grunt pretty well.

At the end of the day the distortion is usable, but is typically square waved as solid states tend to be. Wan't better distortion? Shell out and get a tube amp or a marshall MG/AVT

Reliability : No Opinion
Fantastic practice amp. Never failed yet.

I think anyone who writes off this amp because it doesn't compare with tube amps needs to remember what they're reviewing(Along with all those metalheads who bag out fender guitars for not being heavy enough).

Let's be real here... it's not a gigging amp (Do you expect to get a gigging amp for the low price). It's a practice amp!!! And all the features and sounds on it are good enough for practicing.
With the right pedals you can get some fantastic PRACTICE tones out of it.

Anyone who whines that it's not as good as a Mesa Boogie, is like someone who whines that a squier is not as good as a PRS McCarty. Different league altogether.

If I it were lost or stolen I would probably get a marshall MG series or Vox pathfinder (For practicing)

As for the previous reviewer, I don't reckon he even knows what distorTion is (can't even spell it).

This amp has one input, a headphone jack and one line out.
Has one channel but a button called overdrive (on off) and the knobs are like this from left to right:
Volume, Level (both control the gain of the amp), Master.
High, Mid, Low (equalization knobs)
And a Reverb, nice feature for a 15 watt amp.

I have many amps, and this amp isn't even mine. But i've bothered to write down this review because this is the worse piece of shit i have crossed with in my musician life. It's unbelieveable how it says overdrive on it. I know it's for begginers but the guy how owns this amp (a begginer) had to open it looking for distorsion. Man it has no distorsion at all, i know the difference between distorsion and overdrive but even then, this amp has no overdrive, it's the crappiest piece of junk i have come across.
The clean channel is like every other solid state clean channel and you have reverb. But if you wanna rock (hahaha with 15 watts) this amp has no use.

Reliability : 10
It's solid state

I'm using a Fender strat and i play blues and rock. This amp really sounds like shit. The overdrive is not punchy enough for my taste. This amp really doesn't have balls.

Reliability : 10
It never failed.

This is a solid state, single-channel 15W practice amp with a 10" speaker, distortion, reverb and low/middle/high tone controls. Besides the input jack, it has jacks for headphone and lineout jacks. I was looking for a cheap guitar amp with the above features for home practicing (I play very early in the morning using headphones) and this has been a very good amp for that purpose. If I ever learn enough to play in a blues band, I will by another, bigger amp - probably a Roland Blues Cube 60 but that does not have a headphone jack (and it is heavy..) so it wouldn't work for my current needs. The overdrive in this Samick is good even just with the level control - meaning even when the overdrive button is not pressed in. With full overdrive, you can get a fuzzy distortion for those who need it. The control buttons are large and easy to find fast. The amp is small enough for carrying it around the house, as I have to store my guitar gear in the basement until I have finished my room there.

I am using a Fernandes LE-1X Strat copy with single coil pickups, and the range of tones between these two is good enough for my practice purposes. I am learning to play blues and have found that this set-up can offer a wide range of sounds from smooth, jazzy tones (w/ reverb and bass boost) to harsher, bluesy tones. The amp itself is quiet (meaning humming..), but the guitar pickup switch positions 1,3 and 5 tend to hum - you can hear it especially through the headphones. I learned (from a Web site on guitar pickups) that this is typical for all Strat syle guitars and the middle pickup has reverse polarization to cancel the hum experienced with individual pickups. This is the case with my Fernandes as well and switch positions 2 and 4 are quiet.

This came with a 10 year!! warranty and I don't think it can break in my use. I wouldn't take it to a gig as it is only a practice amp. I guess it would be OK for a small, intimate gig but I don't think I will be that good for a while.

I have had this for two months, no problems. Came with a 10-year warranty!! I think I'll pass this along to my 3-year old when he is ready to play..

I have been playing classical guitar on and off for years, but just got my first electric (Fernandes LE-1X - great guitar!!) with this amp two months ago. I don't have any pedals yet, but am considering a drum machine or Korg Pandora to get the drum sound. Unfortunately, this amp has only one channel so I can't really plug the drum machine in this as the drums would be distorted with the guitar sound. Well, for $95 I am very happy with this and it is perfect for my purposes. I had tried a Crate 20W as well with another guitar (Fender Squier Strat) and it was OK as well, but this dealer had only this Samick (for practice amps) in stock when I tried the Fernandes and I REALLY liked the combination of these two and wanted to buy them together. By the way, my Fernandes is a lot better guitar than the Squier I tried and an outstanding value for $175. This amp is great for my current needs and was the right choice for my home practicing. I haven't really found any problems with this amp. As I tend to plug in my digital metronome or Walkman to play along through the headphones, the output power of the amp could be higher to compensate for all the adapter and connector losses in my weird setup. I have to turn the Walkman volume low to hear the guitar well. This is only a minor problem and would not prevent me from buying this unit again if it broke.
