Its a practice amp. so only : gain, dist, volume hi/mid/low thats all. So average. The distortion will not be to everyones taste.

Believe me or not. I do livegigs and recordings with em leaving my 30W all tube tweed combo at home...
I have placed a celestion speaker in the things (I have two. one at the rehearsalroom and one at home/gigs. they are that cheap) And use them with a superstrat, Ibanez UE300 (floorboard with tubescreamer) and a sennheiser 906 mic. Just place it between the monitors and thats it.
All PA guys ask what the hell gives that ready to amplify without EQ sound. No muddy lows, no floppy mids and no indecent volumes while playing with distortion. There is no real clean sound and no second channel and whatever. But in a 9 piece showband doing corporate gigs up to 800 persons it works like a dream. Even do outdoor gigs.
Just relate this. Any amp worth ?80,- NEW. which gives a good result live is worth its money! Even if its a one trick pony. Bang-for-the-buck

I have these babies for maybe ten years now. And one of them recently had to be repaired. It cost about as much as the price new... ?60,- But as they are cheap i can carry a spare.

I have recorded a CD with two of these a dimension-C choruspedal and a tubescreamer. In a strange way this amp fits my playing. So I would be very sorry if they were stolen.
cheap, small, lightweight, good sound. I DO wellpayed gigs with this amp and a gigbag on my back going to the gig by public transport!

Front: Input, Volume, Overdrive, Master, Treble, Middle, Bass, Headphone
Back: Line out, Overdrive pedal.
Solid State practice amp (says 40W on the back of the amp, 30W on the speaker)
Not a bad amount of features for a small practice amp, but any less would be not enough.

Probably the worst sounding amp I've ever heard. I couldn't believe the reviews for this amp. Good distortion? Excellent tone? Not something I'd associate with this piece of crap. Maybe something is wrong with my one (if there is, disregard the rest of this).
I've used it with a Squier Strat with Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge, and a Stagg Tele Copy, and they both sound shit with it.
On mine, the distortion is AWFUL, just a load of shitty fuzz that hides what you're playing. Clean? I've never gotten a clean tone with this amp. I've gotten a lifeless tone without the shitty fuzz, but hardly what I'd call clean. I know this is only a practice amp (I can't believe someone used this at a gig), but this amp sounds so shit you'd never want to practice.
I've recently been using it for vocals while practicing, still sounds shit(not as shit as it does with guitar though), and is completely drowned out by drums, though in fairness, this could be to do with the mic.

Depend on what? Sometimes when I'm sitting I like to rest my feet on it, it's been pretty dependable in that respect.
Unless it's mine was already broken when it came to be in my hands, it hasn't broken down on me. It seems quite tough and sturdy, I feel confident it could take a beating, and trust me, you will want to beat it; but I seriously doubt I'd notice if it did break, I don't know how much worse it could sound.
That said, there isn't anything to rely on, apart from awful, awful tones.

Apart from the fact that it is quite durable, there are no other positive things to say about this disgrace of an amp.
It sounds laughably bad.
I've played through a 10W Squier amp and it sounds so much better than this.
I've just sold my Marshall MG100DFX, and am currently between amps, so I'm, back to using the Samick. Luckily I'm borrowing a Fender Frontman til I get my new amp (Fender Blues Junior), so I won't have to put up with it much longer.
Terrible amp, steer clear at all costs.
To sum this amp up in one word - Shit.

Its got basic features, volume, gain, master, treble, mid, bass.
More than enough to get your tone with great distortion capabilities....if you have effects peddles, then what more do you need really? It also has a line out on the back and a separate headphone jack....that line out has come in handy many times.

Oh my god...this was my very first guitar amp, and it has always been my work horse baby at home....not quite enough for shows, but good to rock out on by yourself. I can get excellent tone out of this baby. I play rock and roll. I have an Epi SG with humbuckers and the built in distortion capabilities are all that i could ever want. I have used this baby in recording sessions with amazing results. Engineers and other musicians skoff at it first and then do a double take when they hear its potential. I have used it for solo's and even rhythm work with great success.....nobody can beleive it....on a recording you would swear this little samick was a 4X12 cabinet. I even enjoy the clean tones i can get

I've been playing for almost 10 years and this amp has been with me for about 9. I have owned many amps since that i use for rehersing and playing shows, but this is the baby i write and practice with at home. At one point i found the same amp in a shop used for $50....i bought it for the novelty and had a little Samick stack at one point. Eventually one of my friends begged me to give him my second samick.
If this amp was ever stolen or lost, i would instantly be on the phone to my friend demanding he sell me the one i sold him, or i would check ebay and get another one ASAP. Compared to other 10 watt amps, this one just seems to have twice as much balls and just has an overall much fuller sound. Its a little transistor amp, but i swear i can coax big warm tube amp sound out of it. Must be the big fuzzy box that surrounds that little speaker. There is nothing i do not like about this amp...i use it constantly and people always ask about it once they hear what i can pull out of it. I've pushed this amp further than most would and i love it. The engineer i last worked with told me that he can't wait to record with my amp again....he was stoked with the sound. The only thing i wish it had sometimes is a little reverb, but my bigger amp has that. I use a Fender Stage 100 for shows now, and i LOVE the sound i get out of it, but it is only superior to the samick in wattage. I'm certain to use this little samick 10 watt for many many years to come.

Is a little amp (10 watts). Is a perfect amp for practicing in your room. Is not enough loud if you want to play clean. Is only one channel but you have an overdrive control, a master volume and a volume control. If you play with your volume control you can add more distortion.
Is a little amp, and is not good for a gig, but you can use it like a preamp. The distortion is warm, is not too bad. You have a headphone jack and a line out jack (for connecting a speaker or a more big amp) and an overdrive jack (for an footswitck not included, that works only with the overdrive control)
Is not too versatile, but is good for practicing

I use it with all my guitars in my room (Fender Stratocaster Customized, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Telecaster, Ibanez S Series, Gibson SG). I think that this amp works fine with guitrs with humbuckers. The sound from my Gibson SG on this amp is very good. I don't need anything with this guitars, maybe some delays or chorus from a very cheap multi fx (a Zoom 1010)

I got this amp brand new in 1990. I paid R500 for it (back then about $100). This was a perfect amp for someone just strating to play, and is perfect for a practice amp. It has one channel which is clean, but you can add overdrive for distortion. It has a headphone jack. It has never ever given me any hassles, and has worked prfectly since the day I got it. It is quite underpowered (10 Watts) but this is enough for home use and practicing. I don't use the distortion on this because I had a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone, and now have a BOSS GT-3.

I have been playing since about 1990. And this is still my primary amp. I mainly play for a hobby. I am looking at getting a Marshall Valvestate VS102R to replace it now, because I feel it is time for a major upgrade. All in all I think it is a great amp.

I bought this (used) amp 15 months ago. It says 40 watts (mono), although you can not play in a band with this amp. It's simply not loud enough. It works with a preamp, an overdrive and a master. No channel switching, but you can use a footswitch for the overdrive. There's a line out, and a headphone jack.
If you use this amp for practicing at home, like me, it's perfect.

It use my amp with a cheap Squire, and the distorion kicks ass! Okay, you don't have that much power, but it sounds really good anyway.
The clean sound is crap, at higher volumes, because of the preamp, but since I play all kinds of 'heavy' music, I don't really care. I don't have any effects pedals.

This amp is fine for home practice. But Now, I play in a band. I used the line out connected to a PA, for a while, which didn't sound that good. So I needed something more powerful:
Yesterday I bought a used Randall RG-150 HARDROCK, which is like a big brother to this one. Same kind of bad-ass distortion, but it has more features and much better sound.
But I will keep my Samick, it's light-weight, small and sounds good.
