I don't realy know in witch year this amp was made, but the sound is great so who cares?
This amp has a great sound for many music styles, I play from classical to metal music and he can handle them al. The SR15 has only one channel, on this channel you have tone controls, reverb and OVERDRIVE. You can switch the reverb on and of with a foot switch, the input jack for the switch is mounted on the back side, right next to the headphone jack.
I wished the amp had the feature that you could switch the overdrive on and off, 'cause at the moment I use an extra foot FX for some dirty overdrive. I always use al the features on the amp when I'm rehearsing but on stage and stuff I don't 'cause to change the settings after every song.
I use this amp on my room, in my studio and sopme times on gig's. The amp itself is maye 40 to 45 Watt but that is enough.'Cause most of the time I use the amp as a monitor and the sound will get miked.
This amp is solid state and is very reliable.

I use a Vester Stage series guitar with standard single coil pickups. (witch hum sometimes.) And I use my wn build guitar on this amp with two Ovation PAF humbuckers.
This amp suits my music style because you can get from perfectly clean till nice and dirty overdrive/distortion.
The only times that there is a lot of static is when I have my TV on and my guitar's pickups are pointed to the screen.
The amp can make very little sounds when you use standard settings. But when you try eough you will get some cool sounds. I have 20 different setting that I use a lot.
The clean settings will go to distortion when the Volume knob is fully open, but when you keep Volume under 6 then you can fully open de Master volume.
The distorion is nice and fat and you can alter the "wettnes" From a little 60 distortion/overdrive to a brutal Metal sound.

You can fully depent on it, 'cause this thing is hard to brake. I would go to a gig with out a backup, ut most of the time they will have a spare amp at the gig just in case.
The amp has been fixed once because the Volume and Overdrive knobs where broke. After a lot of years and a lot of turning that can happen.

I'm playing now guitar for three years and I'm keen on this amp. If I would ever lose this amp I will surely buy a new amp just like this one, but they are hard to get in Holland.
