Yes this amp was made in the early sixties. It say 70 watts on the back. Although it is very loud for a small amp I think 70 watts is high. However the tone out of this thing is warm an fat!! I love it. It has One input for Mic. and two inpits for instruments. I picked this up at a garage sale for eight bucks the best buy I made in a Looooong time. There are no hums or crackle. It also has tremelo and intensity. I just got the amp so I cannot say how I will use it. It won't work for my keyboard so I'll probably sell it or let one of my buds use it.

As I said there is no noise with this amp which is shocking considering the age of it.The tone of it is beautiful. I onlt tested it with a junk ax and it made it sound good. I do like the tube sound. The clean cannels are clean. It will disort at about the eighth dot on the volume dial. ( no numbers on the dial)The distortion seams to be from the speaker. ( Not the best speaker) If you were to change the speaker probably improve 20 to 30%.

I would have to say that it is very reliable since it is 40 years old or more and still kicking. Not strong enough to gig with. I really wish I could get a little more power from it. But for R&B good enough to practice first throughs with.

Been playing off and on 30 years. If I lost it I would feel it. Even though I don't play lead. Love the tone. Didn't come with great speaker. If I were a lead player I think for size, power and tone and cost I would choose this over a good amount of practice amps 200.00 and down.

This amp was built in the early 60's. It's identical to my first guitar amp and is very special to me. Just got this duplicate amp in April 2000. These amps weren't much on features. This is a approx. 15 watt tube 1-12 combo. a very small compact 1-12 combo. This amp is kind of unique in that the amp chassie is vertical on one side of the cabinet which also has the control knobs running vertical adjacent to the speaker grill. I haven't seen any other amp constructed like that. The inputs are in the back whitch makes it kind of inconveniant for plugging in or un-plugging. It has two channels, channel one is a mic channel with one input, one volume and one tone control. Channel two is for instruments and has two inputs, one volume and one tone control. The only effect it has is tremolo with one speed and one intinsity control. It has a input on the rear for a on/off footswitch for the tremolo. The foot switch wasn't with the amp but I plugged in one of my old footswitches and it turned the tremolo off/on just like its suppose to. The gray tolex is in fair condition. I had to remove some paint specks and re-glue some tairs. The white speaker grill is in excellent conditon in fact the amp is in very good condition overall. It still has the originals silvertone tubes and no name speaker. Most amps in this time period didn't have many features or effects. Reverb was the big effect in those days and most amps didn't have it. This amp was pretty typical for its day but by todays standards would rate low.

This amp has a warm fat tone. I wish I could get a little more highs out of it. Everthing worked except the jewel pilot light and I got a new W47 bulb and its working fine. The tremolo work great!!I would say Fender quality on that. The intrument channel has a little Hiss noise but the Mic channel is completly quite, so I use that channel. I plan to retube it soon and hopefully that will take care of the noise on channel two. I just obtained a schematic from Pat's Schematics in Canada. I edited some patches in my ART ECC Processor to add some high end EQ and reverb to the 1482 and it really sounded Heavenly. The speaker looks like an El-cheapo but works very good. Can't help but wonder what a Celestion Green Back would sound like. I remember the old 60's Rockers I use to play through this amp cranked up with that good tube saturation just a going. I didn't know what was going on but I knew it sounded good and here 30 years later it still does. This amp i will have until I die!!!!

The original 1482 I had back in the early 60's just worked and worked no problem. I don't even remember how I got rid of it now. I latter bought a Gretch Amp amd i probably sold it. Even though it was a budget amp design it has also been a very durable amp. This 1482 I have now probably spent most of its life in the closet or garage to still have the original tubes and speaker.

I've been playing 37 years and yes this 1482 is exactly like my first amp. I had a Montgomery Ward guitar(Airline/Valco)with two humbuckers back then that I used with this amp. I don't know how I made it back then without a little reverb and delay. I got this amp from Mobees Music in Providence, RI. Mobees has a web site with a picture of the 1482 where I first viewed the amp. I had been searching a long time for this amp and was so excited(still am) when I found it. I made a trade with a 70's Univox Tape Delay and a Aria Compressor Pedal for it. This is just such a cool amp and I'm so happy to have an exact duplicate of the amp that I had my first great guitar experiances on and if the Lord is willing I will continue burning on my 1482.
