I play with a yamaha tele style guitar with a semour duncan jb brige pickup(both are humbuckers)This amp takes some getting used to because the tone is different from anything I've heard before. It's noisy but without a ground on the power cord it makes sense.I really like this sucker! It has that pawn shop prize vibe to it and I'm going to fix it up so it sounds like a real champ. It overdrives nicely when dimed.

Reliability : No Opinion

Made approx 76-77 by GARNETT amps in Winnipeg, Canada. Mint shape, NOT A SCRATCH or KNICK anywhere.
It has Sears Electronics on front grille, but on back, hidden, it is a Garnett. I spoke with Gar Gillies about this, and confirmed. 1 vol, 1 tone, 1 REV, and 1 TRemolo with chicken head knobs, located at the top.1 input.Red Rubey pilot light (nice). Speakers are CANADIAN MADE BABY, YEAH..I think they're Marsland. (If anyone else knows, email me)
I use it in the Bedroom only. It's going nowhere cause its mint. 18 watts approx. Gar Gillies told me to replace the 12au7 with a 12AT7 tube, to get a bit more volume out. IT WORKED!. NICE 80 SOMETHING YEAR OLD MAN THAT DID THE WHOLE GARNET THING (Guess who, BTO etc..)6L6 power tubes. Sounds like a fenderish blackface sound, but definately with its own character. Love it to bits

Sound Quality : 8
Use PRS, Les Paul,Tele, Strat, and all sound good. Its single straight volume, so you need a TS-9 in front of it for better distortion. Great for Jazz or Blues, but definately not Modern High gain. The thing was designed for Students taking music lessons, and was sold through SEARS Canada. It is a practice amp, but with proper P.A miking, should sound great on =stage.

Reliability : 9
Reliability, Hell it was made in '77 or so. Its held up this long.

I do need to look into other speakers. Perhaps the Celestion Blue's at 15 watts.

Customer Support : No Opinion
yeah I dealt with Gar Gillies but, Garnett is out of business now for many many years. Gar apparently still fixes the old amps as a hobby.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 20 years, and NO I wont go out a get another if it were stolen. Not possible. You can't compare this amp, cause its really got its own character, and I'm not too up on Fender sounds, and how they're supposed to sound anyway.
For what I paid, the parts alone are on the value of $300 at least today. What a find folks ,,,what a find!!!!

Play all kinds of Blues, and Rock,.
